As a human, I have to make an observation about Nate’s kindness. The sincerity - almost urgency - in Nate’s eyes as he asked Greg if he wanted a coffee is something I’ve only seen my wife do. Nate, it’s obvious you’re a very hospitable host and you take care of your friends. Now, as a devoted fan of the Nateland podcast I have to say, bring back PB-slingin’, all-American Greg Warren more often. Keep up the good work, folks!
Everyone skipped right over Aaron’s “0x3 is 0 unfortunately” comment when talking about running. It was gold. I heard you Aaron. 😂 Everyone in Aaronland laughed!
Hey Nate, huge fan of your stand up and the podcast. I'm originally from Michigan, living in Ireland. Was at your show in Dublin and you absolutely crushed it, every joke hit so hard and I never stopped laughing. The only downside was that I was the only person to yell "hey bear!" and not only did you not hear it, but everyone around me has obviously never listened to the podcast so I got plenty of awkward stares. My brothers were visiting and came to the show with me so we spent the next few days reciting your jokes and laughing our faces off. Thanks for the memories!
I mean this is so late, but I’m rewatching episodes. Aaron messing with Greg and Greg playing the straight man is the funniest and most unexpected thing ever. So great.
My Dad was a cop, so at career day when I was like ten years old, he came (only time he made it). Kids were asking if he ever shot anybody, and he’s just brutal “sure, sometimes you gotta shoot a bad guy” teacher was waving him off from the back. Good times.
I had really appreciated how your sponsor ad reads used to be all together at the beginning and midway through the show. It was nice just hearing them all at once then moving on. Now I noticed that they are sprinkled throughout. At first I wasn't fond of the new style. But I find the way you manage to transition from conversation to the ad reads now very witty and entertaining. BB Gun (Bates) does an excellent job making sure the bills are paid!
I agree. When they signed a deal with a new media company that stated ads would change. I'm guessing the way they do it now, less people fast-forward or tune out because they do transition so well into them throughout the episode.
And the most underrated joke of the podcast goes to... Aaron! Greg: apparently you can run three times faster than what you train at. Aaron: three times zero is zero.
I’m listening to this with my wife and we both realized at the same time that Nate is talking about missing things with his daughter… meanwhile she’s announced him at all his specials and is going to Europe with him! We think you’re probably doing ok, Nate.
A week ago I saw Nate preform live in London at the Union Chapel. The tickets were my Xmas from my partner who went with me. After the performance my Mrs who is a Psychologist commented on how Nate has a presence that not all performers have. So now Nate is not only the most confident sitter downer but he has a special presence to go with it. He has a new fan in my girlfriend now. The show was amazing, he brought the house down with the bits about watching Pearl Harbour & giving his wife’s email to the tree saver collecting donations. Loved the show, love this podcast. All four of you have me in absolute stitches each week. Thank you so much.
I was painting a house and was 30 feet up a ladder when Nate said “nomad” when he meant NORAD. I had to hug the ladder to keep from falling I was laughing so hard! I dropped my paintbrush which hit the AC unit making a loud BANG….the homeowner came out to check on me laughing hysterically at the top of the ladder! All I gotta say is if I die from falling off a ladder at least I went out on top…..or bottom! Thanks for the laughs gents! Keep ‘em coming!!!
Nateland History John Augustine previously appeared in Episode 9: Television. Here's a few fun facts from that episode: - They talked about television programs. - Aaron wore a colorful hat. - Nate pronounced "Grease" the movie like "Greece" the nation found in Europe's Balkan Peninsula (a foreshadowing of this episode?). -A commenter said everyone would call Brian "Worried" after he recounted an embarrassing story from high school. However, Jacob Richard came to the rescue with the first time Brian was referred to as "Breakfast." I'll go proofread this now.
Can’t believe y’all finally have John back on the podcast after all this time, especially on the episode discussing Europe, and NO ONE mentions this famous moment at 1:07:44 (from Episode 9, Television) of the iconic ‘Greece’ vs ‘Grease’ discussion… I still think about that exchange often and it will never not make me laugh. Thanks for providing moments like these to us folks, and for everything else y’all do!
Laughing helps your body create oxytocin, which is an important hormone for labor. As a doula (professional childbirth assistant) I always tell my clients to watch or listen to something funny during early labor to help create natural dopamine and oxytocin. I usually take this opportunity to pitch Nate’s comedy specials!
Coming from someone who grew up working in tobacco I can safely say there is no other job that compares. Hot, humid, wet, sticky, dirty, and other adjectives that describe a horrible Job. Thankfully our farm quit with tobacco when I was 14. I think it scarred me forever, but it made other task like football camp seem like a cake walk. Farming is a way of life for a kid. We pitch in work because it’s our livelihood. When all my friends were celebrating 4th of July and spring breaking I was working. Still to this day I’ve never gone on a spring break trip. Wouldn’t change a thing from my childhood tho! Love the Podcast guys!
Thank y’all for letting us sit in on the interview where you determined if John Augenstein is qualified to be a guest on your show again. Love seeing how the magic happens! 😂
When talking about the burgers at McDonald’s in the UK, the fact that they are talking about the Burger King Whopper is the reason we all keep coming back to this podcast.
Just wanna say, before Nate I wasn’t interested in stand up comedy. But I am a gamer. I found out about Nate through Aperture Desk Job and now I’m listening to the podcast and a newfound appreciation for stand up comedy. So thanks.
When you mentioned Saint Patrick's Day it reminded me back in the 90s when I ran a camera store in Salt Lake City. The Saint Patrick's Day Parade would go right by the store. We decided to have a special sale of Fujifilm because it was in a bright green box. We set up a film display on the sidewalk, my assistant manager decided to name the sale " THE RUCK OF THE ILISH" SALE . I think that if somebody tried to pull that off now they would end up on the news. Thanks for all you guys do, Wednesdays are great because you guys.
I really appreciate the fact that Nate doesn't do any road material on the podcast. I've seen him live twice and the material was all fresh and new because he isn't using the podcast to work out new material.
I was very excited my comment made the show, and wanted thank Bates for constantly being such a good sport. If you guys are genuinely interested in tulips, then you should book a show in Des Moines the first week of May. Pella, Iowa is around 45 minutes away and they have a Tulip Time festival. The town is very proud of their Dutch roots.
"I thought this was from Star Wars". Holy cow I'm in IT but not software but geez louise I had to pause the episode to laugh at that. For a fair while.
I went to Spain a couple years ago and just used my credit card. It’s too hard to have currency if you’re traveling to a few different places. I’ve been following since the beginning and look forward to the podcast every week. Thanks y’all. Hey Bear!
Aaron, driving down a bumpy road is indeed a home remedy for going into labor. When my wife was two weeks overdue with our daughter, a crusty old farmer at church recommended, "Feed 'er Pizza Hut an' speed 'round the back roads." We didn't try, but our 11 pound plus daughter was born the next week (via C section). I'll go proofread this now.
McDonalds in Europe are different but close enough. I was in Finland for a little while and every meal was bland and made me feel kind of sick. I couldn’t say anything because I really loved and appreciated the people cooking it. One day I saw those Golden Arches and it was like a choir of angels singing my welcome! It was the greatest burger of my life and it just felt like home.
I was with Aaron when in the few seconds of quietness Greg asks Nate “Do you like Salmon?” It felt like when someone isn’t paying any attention to the conversation around them and their mind wanders then just throws out the most random question in the world. I’m glad Greg was able to make his case for the relevancy of it with his parents and the freshness.
Greg is right about computers in the 80s. I graduated in 89 and took a couple of different computer classes. As a Freshman, I took typing because I knew that I would be leaning towards a computer career. I can remember even in Middle School, several math classes were starting to use computers for their courses. And all of that was just at a mediocre school system in the Dallas, Texas area. And by the way, I experienced plenty of career days on television shows and in movies but I never got to see one in real life. My generation was too cool for things like that. ;)
My boyfriend and I saw Aaron this past Saturday in St.Louis and I’ve got to say we were pleasantly surprised. It was a great show. Also, I had never seen Joe before and before the show started I bypassed the people wearing the helium comedy club shirts and went to ask him where the bathroom was because he seemed like someone who would know. Then he walked up on stage and I was like whoops. Side note: Greg is a great addition to podcast. Is five hosts too many ?
Hello bear! Thanks for coming to Europe Nate 🙌. Was great seeing you live in Amsterdam. Solid set. Thought the grinding teeth bit deserved a bigger laugh. I reckon it’s a bit worth honing. Or even building on, I think there’s a nugget to mine there 😉.
Have to say I had such a good time seeing Nate in Dublin. He was worried we weren't going to get his references, but don't worry we don't have Community colleges, but we see enough American TV to get the reference. Thanks for an amazing night.
Hey Bear. I hear you all mention the Comedy Zone in this and past podcasts. My brother had a Comedy Zone in Georgia in the late 90's. It was my first experience at a live comedy show. My son and I will be in Tallahassee next week to see your show and we are looking forward to it. Hope to see you and ask about your Comedy Zone experiences. Love the podcast and the whole crew.
I am 2 degrees of Kevin Bacon for a very random reason. I know first place is the 2nd loser, but glad I have this story. When I was younger my mom was a "dorm parent" for a girls dorm in a small town in Oklahoma. we had a student/player that was from Kenya named Miriam Owiti. When I was 9 I found out that she was actually scouted from a movie Kevin Bacon did in set in Africa called "The Air Up There". Nate would love this movie. Just an easy breezy classic. So, it turns out she was a teen in that movie and people in the US saw her playing and she was recruited to play college basketball in The States. Now I can always say I am 2 degrees of Bacon. Another interesting note is that my Aunt lives in the town called Elmore City in Oklahoma that inspired the movie Footloose because they used to forbid dancing. Not sure what degree that is, but I'm sure it's a least worth a nickel.
I am here to defend Greg; I took my first programming class in 7th grade and I am 54. (I’m signed in under my daughters account) The first thing we learned was 10 print “your name”, 20 goto 10, end, run. THAT’S the first thing everyone learned originally. Greg and I are the OG’s of the computer world. It was DOS only ~ Peggy~ AKA y’all’s #1 fan and original OG of the podcast
Gollleeee!! Nates quite comment about the long maternity leave for dad's. "Shake the babies hand, welcome him into the world." almost ran off the road in historical laughter...untill Britches brushed by it anyway....thanks for the smooth laughs!
Not me wondering if they got the title wrong for the first minute of the podcast with John Augustine.🤣🤦♀️ Love the content guys. Nice to have a podcast where I somehow sort-of-don't-really-kinda-maybe learn something new each week.
That Belgian fry place on 2nd Ave in NYC Greg mentioned was called Pomme Frite. Great place to go after some libations! Loved it. Awesome memories there. …all that said…it blew up from a gas leak a few years ago.
Drove 5 hours to see Aaron at Zanies tonight only for him to come out with no towel. I knew immediately he wouldn’t really be bringing it. Show was incredible! Aaron has become my favorite comedian with gout!
Hello Nateland World. Ironic that Wednesday (prior to watching this weeks Nateland) myself and a colleague were discussing the pinnacle of baseball movies and came up with our top 5 (10). Field of Dreams, The Natural, Major League, Eight Men Out, Bull Durham (top 5). 42, The Sandlot, Moneyball, Rookie of the Year, Trouble with the Curve, (top 10). I imagine our list coincides mostly with what you all come up with but maybe not in the same order. My dad was a 1st Sergeant when he came to my career day in middle school circa 1982. He mentioned his tours in Vietnam and Korea. Someone asked if he had ever killed a guy and his deadpan answer "well it was a war so what do you think?"
Oooo that Belgian fry place that Greg mentions…in the East Village….those were the best fries I have ever had in my life. It’s been 23 years and I think about those fries often 😂
I feel like Nate saying he wants to run a half marathon without the event would turn into that episode of the office where they ran a 2k for rabies. He would be able to run the half marathon but forget a detail like making the run a loop and just being stuck 12 miles away from where he started. He did mention running to McDonalds which was enough motivation for me to get off my couch and get McDonald’s. Love the podcast!
I was born on St. Patrick’s Day and I took a trip to Dublin, Ireland in 2016 to experience their parade, they very much celebrate it like we do in the US. Many buildings even light up with green. I found out recently that i have Irish in me, its too bad i didn’t know at that time, it would’ve made it so much more special. I also tried a big mac at a McDonalds in Ireland, it was just not the same. Anyway, listening to John Augenstein is like pulling teeth, sorry, I just don’t have the patience 😂
14:07 you can visibly see Breakfast’s head swelling up.. he’s now realizing he’s living the dream with no more than 30 people at the shows.. no matter if he’s related to most of them
I got stopped going into the Theatre, in the hallway by the manager telling me I couldn't bring my just opened bottle of Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino. He said I have to throw it away. I said, "Can I finish it?" He said, yes. So I stood there and drank it at a normal pace while he stood about 4 feet in front of me. We were looking at each others face the entire time. When I finished and tossed it in the waste bin. I said to him, "alright?" He said, "alright." I believe neither one of us were going to lose that confrontation and I don't think either one of us did.
I'm on board with Greg Warren's (War Dog) opinion of Kevin Costner's "For the Love of the Game". The reason why it looked like Costner could pitch wasn't because of movie magic. He could really do it. He was pitching 80mph+ heat!
Kevin Costner loves baseball but wasn’t good enough, he said, to play at Cal State U Fullerton. He took professional baseball classes for his baseball movies.
🌍 🌎 #FunFact 🌎 🌏 You guys really brighten up my day, thank you!. As a fun fact about the Northern Lights, on Sep. 18, 1941, a large geomagnetic storm struck the earth, causing an aurora borealis to stretch as far south as North Florida. Northern lights have been visible in Texas. There was a rare sighting in October of 2011. Due to a coronal mass ejection, both the common green colors and rare red hues could be seen as far south as Texas and ranged from Maine to California.
Long time viewer from Oklahoma. The part about hotel/motel costs are very real. Currently in a tight situation living at a Days Inn in Norman, costs $69 a day. I could of left this place sooner if the rate was still $45-$50 like it was just 2 years ago.
I work at Lids corporate office in Indy. I've really appreciated the Grill's hat selection, especially the last couple months. Love the podcast (except for Bobsled)
Be honest Nate, when they brought up all the names for six degrees of Kevin Bacon and you saw the name Jon voight. Did you automatically think of Costanza's car in the show Seinfeld? I can see it in your face.
When my oldest son was 6 or 7 he found out we weren't allowed to sneak candy into the theater and was so upset when he found out we were breaking the rules. He almost refused to go into the movie.
You guys have got to teach Greg how to use a microphone on a podcast. I’m constantly turning the volume way up and then way down when he talks. And laughs.
I feel like all the AirBNB chores are things Breakfast does even when staying at a hotel. No way he hasn't been asked to leave the hotel kitchen after bringing down some plates from room service.
It's a different kind of country around here. Whenever it's deer hunting season the teachers don't teach anything important in school because so many kids are missing or coming in halfway through the day.
I’d love to see a farming/agriculture episode featuring someone who grew up on a farm. Greg (and others) equating healthy with organic is crazy to me and anyone else who has studied agriculture. You might as well say that Jesus road a mechanical T-Rex
In 1985 I endured a computer class. I don't remember the name of the machine, but is was about as big a Volkswagen and the floppy disks were like LPs (look it up, Nate). I wrote a pro forma business letter and wrote a script that had as many script commands as the letter itself. So I thought, what's the point? Anyway, I programed the letter to do a mail merge with a spread sheet mailing list. I was so ready to "hit any key to continue." The upside of it all was I recalled a typing class from my 7th grade that I suddenly didn't regret so much. "Now is the time for all good men to shoot the quick brown fox."
My sister in law was briefly a substitute teacher. One day she was filling in for 4th grade history and the class was reading Anne Frank's diary. One of the student's asked if Anne Frank was still alive. My sister-in-law, who is often wrong but never in doubt, replied "Of course she is! How do you think we got her diary?!"
When Nate was giving Greg a hard time over the salmon story and Greg says, “I hope you don’t get salmon!” he really missed a great chance for a callback from last episode. He shoulda followed it with, “I hope you get salmonella!”
Saw Nate last night in Belgium (traveled 5 hours from Germany). Was awesome!
oh great did you fight him
Everyone skipped right over Aaron’s “0x3 is 0 unfortunately” comment when talking about running. It was gold. I heard you Aaron. 😂 Everyone in Aaronland laughed!
32:00
Aaron and Greg are never on the same page and I love it. Comedy gold with this pairing. Looking forward to more Greg Warren guest eps in the future!
I wanted to like this comment but then you used "eps" and I just couldn't. 🤣😂🤣
Cheyenne: it’s nice to have a podcast where no one tries to teach you something
Aaron: gentleman is singular
Hahahahaha!!!! I didn't even notice that!
Hahaha
lol was anyone actually “learning”that though, or did i just expose myself as the Aaron of the fan base
@@Bren3669 that’s enough
Hey Nate, huge fan of your stand up and the podcast. I'm originally from Michigan, living in Ireland. From Ireland (Dublin), living in Illinois, wish I could have seen him at home
let's go folks! could have worked as a response to those looks XD
I mean this is so late, but I’m rewatching episodes. Aaron messing with Greg and Greg playing the straight man is the funniest and most unexpected thing ever. So great.
Aaron’s impression of Dusty was really good. The cadence was spot on. Now we need to hear his impressions of Nate and Bisquick.
My Dad was a cop, so at career day when I was like ten years old, he came (only time he made it). Kids were asking if he ever shot anybody, and he’s just brutal “sure, sometimes you gotta shoot a bad guy” teacher was waving him off from the back. Good times.
Haha!!! Great story.
😂😂😂 I’m military 16 years and every time I come home my nephews ask me the same thing, as easy as asking how was the weather
"I love AG1, I wish Dusty was here to talk about it". 😂🤣

Greg took a computer class before computers were invented but then asks “what’s career day” to the best answer nate saying “it’s what it is”
How did he start school before career day but after computers
A week ago I saw Nate preform live in London at the Union Chapel. The tickets were my Xmas from my partner who went with me. Greg Warren has to be top all time guests. Genuinely enjoy him as a guest and he has one of those laughs that makes you laugh harder
Watching Nateland without Dusty is playing basketball without a net. Still fun but not the same. #Dustyreportyoself
accurate. Dusty is the sizzle on the steak.
Saw Nate last week in London. Was a great show. Thank you Nate. 😊

Coming from someone who grew up working in tobacco I can safely say there is no other job that compares. Hot, humid, wet, sticky, dirty, and other adjectives that describe a horrible Job. Nate came out in London and he goes, "Been in London today, I don't like it... everything is either 1000 years old, or a McDonald's 😂
Bummer! And I'm not talking about Breakfast! I'm bummed Dusty isn't on here, for the 2nd week. Come back Dusty!
Thank y’all for letting us sit in on the interview where you determined if John Augenstein is qualified to be a guest on your show again. Love seeing how the magic happens! 😂
The Greg Warren episodes are the best
Having worked retail grocery for years, Greg reminds me of many sales guys and vendors. Love it.
When talking about the burgers at McDonald’s in the UK, the fact that they are talking about the Burger King Whopper is the reason we all keep coming back to this podcast.
I laughed way too hard at “I thought this was from Starwars”
Just wanna say, before Nate I wasn’t interested in stand up comedy. But I am a gamer. I found out about Nate through Aperture Desk Job and now I’m listening to the podcast and a newfound appreciation for stand up comedy. So thanks.

Hello folks! Love The show. Look forward to it every week. ❤😂
I went to Spain a couple years ago and just used my credit card. It’s too hard to have currency if you’re traveling to a few different places. I’ve been following since the beginning and look forward to the podcast every week. Thanks y’all. Hey Bear!
I'm with Aaron - Greg's Ireland salmon bit was _hilarious!_
I agree. It was hilarious
How great is Greg! Fantastic guest. Great job

49:20 Nate saying “know where you’re going” when he has no clue where he’s going with this sentence
I saw the Northern Lights as a kid in Alaska, also in Montana years later, and then in McKinney, TX, on a cold winter night. Yes, in TX.

Made me so happy to see Nate wearing his wedding ring!
Took a computer class senior year of high school, graduated in ‘83!! We made a calendar.
Great episode guys!
Gollleeee!! Nates quite comment about the long maternity leave for dad's. "Shake the babies hand, welcome him into the world." almost ran off the road in historical laughter...untill Britches brushed by it anyway....thanks for the smooth laughs!
Not me wondering if they got the title wrong for the first minute of the podcast with John Augustine.🤣🤦♀️
Love the content guys.
Breakfast, I caught when you said "I have a cousin who lives in Florida"
Great throwback. Keep it up gentlemen
Nate inadvertently doing his best Ted Lasso "How many countries are in this country?"
Nate's reaction at 1:07:45 is PRICELESS
Never expected breadboard to reference Pulp Fiction twice in one episode 🤣🤣🤣 keep it up, guys
@@princesssummerland7269 Better than average at pitching.
Greg’s comment “Act Like You Have Been There” was very underrated
Watching the Vuori commercials with Olivia Dunn makes me wonder why they didn’t want Nate as the official spokesperson 😅
Where is Dusty??
Brian, King of the segue!
Every time I see Greg Warren is on, I know we're in for a treat. He's so fucking funny every time.
🌍 🌎 #FunFact 🌎 🌏
You guys really brighten up my day, thank you!.
I would love to see you all play a round of foot golf! 😂
I wanna see Master ‘Brian’ Bates do a podcast with Jack Mcbrayer, and Jim Rash ❤😂
Fun!👍
Greg is perfect on the podcast, please keep having him back. Keep up the good work boys
I definitely like hearing comics talk about comedy back office stuff. Just saying..
Me too!!!
And laughs.
I thought that being the first "Like" this week would feel kind of cool. Nope. Now I just feel like a Creeper McCreeperson. Eh, whatever. Heyyyy Bear!
We’re having a good time 👋🏿
😂
Hahaha!!! Such a great comment.
That's a Bates move LOL
@@Bette_Fontenot Hahaha!!!
"Now is the time for all good men to shoot the quick brown fox."
i wanna see all 4 of the podcast on The Bob and Tom Show at the same time
Dusty?😊
My sister in law was briefly a substitute teacher. One day she was filling in for 4th grade history and the class was reading Anne Frank's diary. One of the student's asked if Anne Frank was still alive. My sister-in-law, who is often wrong but never in doubt, replied "Of course she is! How do you think we got her diary?!"
When Nate was giving Greg a hard time over the salmon story and Greg says, “I hope you don’t get salmon!” he really missed a great chance for a callback from last episode. He shoulda followed it with, “I hope you get salmonella!”
