Hey bear! I have to give props to Aaron, i am currently sitting in a southwest flight with an open middle seat. I’m a big dude, and i used Aaron’s technique of picking a row with another big guy sitting in the window seat. I sat myself in the aisle seat and watched as everyone passed as by. We had the only empty seat on the flight right here next to us. Hello big folks!
One of my favorite episodes! 1. Body count Bates killed Carter even tho you didn't know it yet. 2. Aaron's comment about how we see the year/months in our mind was great. Mine is circular starting with January front left, April front right, June back right, September back left. Same circle is present for days of the week. 3. Time passing quicker as it becomes less of a percentage of our entire life (and less new things) is something I think of often and it helps me to live life to the fullest! Thanks guys for a great 2024!
I am only here for dusty! I have fallen in love with everyone now and love Nate’s observational conversation. But big shout out to breakfast for holding down all the pods when the members are missing.
33:22 regarding Dusty wanting ads to be fun...this is why so many of us listeners have said we skip the pre-recorded ads. Nothing fun happens when they're prerecorded . Keep 'em live! #werehavinagoodtime
My husband and I are cracking up, because in one moment Dusty said he didn’t like Morgan Wallen’s song and everybody’s alcoholics now, and in the next breath he said he likes Shaboozy’s “A Bar Song”!
The "drinking dream" is very common for folks that are sober and have stopped drinking because alcohol abuse was a problem in their lives. As someone who stopped drinking over a decade ago and have spent many years going to meetings and talking to people who have stopped drinking, those dreams are extremely common. Very impressed with Dusty's ability to handle working in his environment where he spends a lot time in Casino's and other places where alcohol is such a big part of the experience and he continues his sobriety. Congrats to you Dusty and happy new year to all my sober friends!
I've had 'drinking dreams' that seemed so real I woke up scared. Haven't had any of those dreams in a while but I do pay attention to them. One day at a time we stay sober, with God's perfect grace. Congratulations to you on your sobriety!!
I think pre recorded episodes are some of the best of Nateland. I noticed that the episodes I always go back to are pre recorded and contain iconic podcast moments. Just a few examples include: "panguin", civilian stations, Sore Sogorb, Planet Fitness, "according to this", horse divorce, "you blew it buddy", and Hey Bear. Thank you for pre recording and keeping us laughing!
Happy New Year gentlemen! We took a hike today yelling "Hey bear!", where there are no bears in California. So people were looking at us... real weird. Then all night at the New Year's party, my son and I kept saying, "That's what I'm talking about!" in a southern accent, which we do not have, as the fireworks shot off from the trailer park behind our neighborhood. We had a good time.
To be clear, we are more poor than the people in the trailer park behind us. As proof... they had government level fireworks. We had burgers and hotdogs.
I always love the country music lists (I got some new songs to listen too)! Great episode! Happy New Years to all the amigos hosting and to all the amigo/a's viewing!
This episode was like an end of a long lasting sitcom when they start doing flashbacks to fill the episode. Hate it on TV shows, but didn't mind it on here. Keep up the great work gents!
I’d like to imagine you spent time after the podcast having Aaron listen to Clint Black classics, and, on the way out, he conceded, “Thanks, guys. I’m leaving here a Better Man.”
I like setting goals for the New Year, rather than resolutions... which are basically like vows. A resolution is often treated as something you hope to accomplish, whereas a goal is a target you are actively working toward.
Thank you Aaron for talking about year mapping!! I truly thought I was the only one who did that. I mentally visualize a circle with January at the top and the months go counter clockwise until December meets January at the top again.
I’ll say, Dusty, I’ve seen Wicked live, and was not at all here for a film adaptation. I watched it and my eyes were burning and tearing up at the end, not emotionally, but because I realized I had not blinked for the entire ending number. Somehow they turned an already dramatic climactic scene and cranked it up past 11 up to 100.
What a year we've had with the Band. As a fan it has been so fun watching Nate blow up and bringing Nateland along for the ride. I can't wait to watch what heights he reaches this year. Nate and family are so committed and hard working, I'm excited to see it pay off.
Aaron's concern with how Dusty and Bumper-Bowling see the calendar year in their heads is sort of a frightening peek into the inner working of Aaron's twisted little mind. I cannot help but imagine Nate's reaction to hearing him post that question. In fact, I want very badly, to hear Nate's reaction to that question.
Hey bear! I was at Brian’s 9PM Friday show at Comedy Off Broadway in Lexington. I was in the front row wearing the Chicago Bears cap and jacket. Brian absolutely killed it! It was a pretty rowdy crowd at some points and Brian did such a good job of navigating the disruptions and was so hilarious. By far my favorite comedy show I’ve ever been to. Thanks for the laughs, Brian! Also, glad to have my new breakfast club t shirt. Love everyone on the podcast and hope to see all of you perform in or near Lexington soon!
Dusty having an Indian Uber driver who loves country is so amazing. I use to run route for Cintas and had a customer called Chus Express. A great little take out Chinese place and one day I walk in to service them and I walk through the kitchen to find no other than Mr.Chu singing Ol Red at the top of his lungs! I give him a wave and a "hey mr.chu how you doing brother" and he replies "Kelton you like Blake Shelton?" To which I say "yes sir, actually Old Red is my favorite country song" and he hit me with the best line that I still tell people about 5 years later , in a very heavy Chinese accent he goes "Blake Shelton my number 1 favorite thing about America"....I didn't know how to respond other than a "Hell yea Mr. Chu, mine to brother". Still tell that story after five years if anyone brings up Blake Shelton lol
The Nateland podcast is my number one find for 2024! I never listen to it because the cover photo made me think that it was something other than what it was, and not to my liking. Sorry a couple of TikToks about it and decided to give it a shot and I am so glad I did. It's been my number one podcast this year.
Dusty I listened to your top 5 country music songs and really liked the John Anderson entry. The whole list was good. Aaron and his left to right calendar setup was ridiculous I agree with Bismarck my minds calendar is set up like a traditional calendar month by month and flip it as the month changes
Greetings from exotic Mount Juliet, TN! Aaron's question about visualizing the year is one of the most interesting conversation starters I've heard in a while. I was talking to my wife about it and realized we don't even know each other. I visualize the year like a clock, but for some reason, instead of the year progressing clockwise, I think of the year progressing counter-clockwise with January holding the 11-12 position, then February the 10-11, and so on. I have no idea where I got that idea, but my wife told me that didn't make sense, to which I apologized, and told her I would try to do better in the future... which is counter-clockwise.
Brian getting excited about not having to add anyone else to his body count list, without knowing about Carter, made me laugh out loud. It felt like when Nate had his Vandy gear on, and they had to put a score of zero across the bottom of the screen. Sorry Breakfast! 😂❤
I don't feel like Dusty and Beefcake really understood what Aaron was asking about mentally picturing the calendar year but I totally get it, because I was kind of shocked when I first learned as a young man that other people didn't picture it the way I did. In my head the year is a big circle, chopped into 4 slices like a pizza, positioned so that the cuts form an X when you're looking at it. Hovering directly over the circle at the top is the sun, so the top slice of the pizza (closest to the sun) is June July and August, the summer months. Then descending clockwise down the right side is september october and november, getting further away from the sun and thus colder, Dec, Jan and Feb make up the bottom slice and Mar Apr May make up the left slice as we approach the warmth again after winter. I've always pictured the year like this and no other way really makes more sense to me
Two things...the Forrest Gump thing, hilarious! Also, talking about Dwight Yoakum made me think of another movie on Hallmark, Angels Sing. It starred Harry Connick Jr, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Lyle Lovett to mention a few that were also singers/actors.
🎉🎉❤❤ Hey bear happy new year to y'all! Hey Dusty you get those leaves! Swales are awesome keep us posted! PS, Dusty don't go changin' (the way you read your ads)! I think Aaron reads the ads in a way that is exceptionally funny ! Breakdance presents ads in a way my dad would m,mild mannered but full of common sense. I love you guys!!!
Thank you for the News Years Day episode! Do love that you are consistent even if pre-recorded sometimes! One of my other go-to podcasts Zoltan, hasn’t posted one since Dec 2nd 😢. Would be cool if you could have him as a guest comedian!! In a lot of ways I see Brian as the main guy, and have since day 1 even though I found it because of Nate. He was the one doing more of the “producing” role it seemed, finding the topics, reading the comments, etc. He sort of quietly supports everyone, never needing the spotlight. Makes sense with his news background I guess. Love you all though and you all bring something unique to it ❤
I totally understand Aaron's question about visualizing the days and months of each year. I visualize the years exactly the same as Aaron. Left to right and completely linear. HOWEVER, as Brian was reading the memorable moments of 2024 for NATELAND, my year flipped around in my head (as in 3-D animation) and I saw 2024 from right to left. Thanks Aaron, I thought it was just me. :)
Dusty is very right about coco melon. Most of the new children’s shows are created to increase stimulation and addiction rather than promote education and calmness
Dusty’s right about TV and cliffhangers where nothing gets solved. It’s why I like detective-type shows because there’s a case each episode or so that gets solved. They still have a longer story across the season and character development but it’s nice to get resolution on the shorter stories.
Eddie Murphy’s “Party All The Time” STILL gets spins in this household. The Rick James production is top tier. A hit that sticks like grits. Eddie Murphy has to be the greatest entertainer of all time and we don’t say it enough.
So fascinating to see how each of you see time!!! It is a linear process but as an elder I am seeing the cyclical nature of our time here. Many of the things we experience do come around again and it’s interesting to observe how I can change and view things differently. For better or worse!😂 The days are long but the years go fast 😊.❤❤❤
Love a good spreadsheet! Impressed by the organization there Aaron. Would love to have an episode dedicated to bombs where y'all all go back to talk about your top terrible shows. Y'all's stories about them are always hilarious!
What kind of influence does this podcast have in my life? I just spent 3 hours rooting for Notre Dame. 😂 There is no personal connection to the school, just Aaronland and hating seeing Georgia win.
My 7 year old and Dusty are basically the same person. We homeschool and were learning about the planets, he said “Why are the planets named after Greek gods, if our God made them?”…my response was…”uhhh, what color crayon do you need to color that picture of pluto, son?” 🙄 Also, see you Jan 31 in bham Brian Breakfast Bates!!
I still envision the year in 3 segments - spring semester, summer, and fall semester. Working in the school system makes it hard to think any other way.
Bluey is the goat. Watching it with my little boy and it’s one of my favorites now even as an adult. It’s so wholesome and funny and love seeing a healthy nuclear family with no agendas being pushed.
It's insane how short and limited the list of singers who are good at acting was. Ariana Grande, Justin Timberlake, Cher, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, and probably so many more... these are just ones that are off the top of my head. Love the pod, been listening since day one, but boy listing Billy Ray Cyrus in Hannah Montana as a "singer" who's good at "acting" is crazy!
Also, after the Rock n Roll episode, can we get top five music lists from Aaron? His music taste is great and it's not just country music. I know y'all are in Nashville and all, but there's lots of great non-country music out there and Aaron seems to have his pulse on some great artists!
The comment by Nathan Taylor had me floored for a second. I thought I don’t remember commenting on the last podcast episode? Then I remembered oh yeah my username is not Nathan Taylor on most social media platforms. 😂 Great episode.
As someone who also hates the cliffhanger shows that drag on forever, and loves closure, I think Dusty would really enjoy "Barry". I think it's the best show from the last five years. Although it came out in 2018, it ended in 2023
Took a friend for lunch yesterday, Dec 31st. Ate Chinese. I handed her a fortune cookie. She shared the positive message. I was kinda excited to share mine. Nothing there. I broke the cookie open even though I could see there was no fortune. She noticed my consternation and said, ask for another cookie. I said, no. That’s not how this works. I clearly have no fortune. Ominous cookie moment.
I hear you. Same exact thing happened to my 14 y/o son yesterday. HE asked for another and I said, “Nope, sorry. Not how it works. Sucks to be you.” He didn’t think it was as funny as his older brother did 😂😂
Shout out to Dusty for recommending Maggie Antone. I've been listening to her album Rhinestoned all weekend. I'd like to ask if Dusty has heard of or listened to Stephen Wilson Jr. Or American Aquarium? I think that he would enjoy them based off of some artists that he's mentioned.
Aaron...Amazing question about the perception of a year. I had never thought about it, but for me it's definitely a circle with Jan. 1 being 12:00. Best of luck in 2025. I will be taking some of Dusty's advice and stockpile some food, batteries, etc...Anything else you recommend? Thanks, Bryan
Aaron, I've tried to have lucid dreams but it never works for me. But one night without trying I had a brief lucid dream. I was looking in a mirror and couldn't tell if it was real or not, even when I pinched myself. I woke up soon after but it was a wild feeling dream. 1:10:17 great editing btw
There is weird that Aaron talks about the visualization of the year, because there is something about January where I feel like you’re like, stepping back up on top of steps and then going back down into the year
Hey bear! I have to give props to Aaron, i am currently sitting in a southwest flight with an open middle seat. I’m a big dude, and i used Aaron’s technique of picking a row with another big guy sitting in the window seat. I sat myself in the aisle seat and watched as everyone passed as by. Brian brings up Notre Dame playing on New Years Day. Game gets delayed. The curse lives on
I am only here for dusty! I have fallen in love with everyone now and love Nate’s observational conversation. But big shout out to breakfast for holding down all the pods when the members are missing.
Dusty, I love The Land Series. I’m hoping you keep doing that .
I cannot adequately express how much I love The Land.
I love it when Bates checks out and responds with "Umhm".
33:22 regarding Dusty wanting ads to be fun...this is why so many of us listeners have said we skip the pre-recorded ads. Nothing fun happens when they're prerecorded . Keep 'em live! #werehavinagoodtime
Instead of the Dump Dusty guy we need a Dump Pre-recorded Ads guy.
Watching dusty make a paper airplane while explaining to Brian why he’s not fully prepared for the topic today is so funny
You're right, that was hilarious!! Lol
Rachel Robinson is still alive. Curse broken!!!
😂 love it!
But, maybe the curse jumped to Jimmy Carter.
Dusty was on fire this episode
Agreed.

@@florencelinderman3797 - same to you. And I wish you a very happy new year!
Same thing with dieters trying to lose weight and dream about eating “forbidden foods!”
I don’t have these dreams a lot but I do have them periodically. I also have dreams that I’m secretly smoking cigarettes
@@DustySlay more like nightmares
Hey bear/ hello folks we're having a good time. Hope you all have a great New Year!!!! God bless you all!!! 🙏🙏
I think pre recorded episodes are some of the best of Nateland. I noticed that the episodes I always go back to are pre recorded and contain iconic podcast moments. "You blew it buddy" is my favourite ever moment!
OG fans unite!!
Dusty’s music lists are the best! I’m hooked on Paul Cauthen Black on Black. I always like what Dusty is suggesting!
Happy New Year gentlemen! We took a hike today yelling "Hey bear!", where there are no bears in California. So people were looking at us... real weird. @florencelinderman3797 It was, thank you! Giggled the whole day.
To be clear, we are more poor than the people in the trailer park behind us. As proof... they had government level fireworks. We had burgers and hotdogs.
The calendar year is like a Ferris wheel. January at the top. Perspective changes as the year continues. Love you guys!
Hey bear! Happy New Year 🎆🎊🎈 love you all ❤
I always love the country music lists (I got some new songs to listen too)! Great episode! Happy New Years to all the amigos hosting and to all the amigo/a's viewing!
That News Years Day song by Charlie Robinson is about as good as it gets to me. Good call B Dawg
Getting Breakfast back as a guest on Dusty's pod would be great. Who's with me? And they do Bible study. 😊
Yes!! Def more Bible study, theology talk, etc! ❤🎉
Bateland is my favorite podcast
I absolutely love The Consumers podcast! Tuesday and Wednesday are the best days of the week!
This episode was like an end of a long lasting sitcom when they start doing flashbacks to fill the episode. Hate it on TV shows, but didn't mind it on here. Keep up the great work gents!
Wow, Baron Bates going philosophical on the perspective of time was absolutely mind blowing, what an insightful thought!
I’m SO excited to see Aaron’s standup special! And omg, dusty saying “we’ll get some Nate posters on the wall” for 2025 😂.
Happy New Year! 🎉🎉🎉
I’d like to imagine you spent time after the podcast having Aaron listen to Clint Black classics, and, on the way out, he conceded, “Thanks, guys. I’m leaving here a Better Man.”
Dusty rocks😂
Basically...Im laid back, but I will lean forward *real* quick.
@@Becka034 Well said!
I like setting goals for the New Year, rather than resolutions... which are basically like vows. A resolution is often treated as something you hope to accomplish, whereas a goal is a target you are actively working toward.
Aaron saying “wicked smaaaht” was bang on, surprised the other guys did not catch on. Aaron gets it.
Thank you Aaron for talking about year mapping!! I truly thought I was the only one who did that. I mentally visualize a circle with January at the top and the months go counter clockwise until December meets January at the top again.
Spacial synesthesia.
Sierras cover of Years is amazing
I like when Bryan Baits read the song list and it had the whip effect, it kept me engaged in the list.
Great energy today! Thanks for a fantastic episode.
A fascinating documentary about the wizard of oz-American Oz. It has become the most beloved film of all time for a reason!!!🎉
What a year we've had with the Band. As a fan it has been so fun watching Nate blow up and bringing Nateland along for the ride. I can't wait to watch what heights he reaches this year. Nate and family are so committed and hard working, I'm excited to see it pay off.

Thank you guys for making this video for us on New Year's Day. It was great to laugh with you guys. Here's to 2025!!
Thanks for dropping an episode on New Year’s Day! I have been sick and it made my day.

Was someone cracking a whip during the five top country songs?
Very random
Sure sounded like it!! That made me so curious!
I was like, “What in the world is that?” And no one on the show mentioned it. So weird. Ha ha.
I loved the whip sound effect during the country music lists. This podcast is really upping the production value for 2025
I love yalls vibe together!!!' It's always great! Love that it's funny and clean and if my kids hear it's fine too!!! Rare gem! 13:53

How about a goal for Nate for 2025 is to be on 80% of his podcasts? Or is that too high?
The whip sound effect caught me completely off guard but I loved it. Also love the breaking news graphic and sounds. Let’s keep it going for 2025!

Although it came out in 2018, it ended in 2023
Huge fan of all of you guys! I thought for sure Dusty would mention Kris Kristofferson as a singer who became an actor.
I’m a Charlotte Native!! C’mon over here Aaron! Yes, Queen City (QC), after Queen Charlotte.
Sucks to be you.” He didn’t think it was as funny as his older brother did 😂😂
@ 🤣😂🤣
I think it means your future is yours for the making!
@ Love your positivity. It was just a little fun being dramatic about it. 🤗
@@paulaboderek6093 wishing you a Happy New Year and 2025!
I agree that the new year should start in April! April 16th to be exact 😁
Happy DEW Year! Brought to you by Baja Blast.
Dusty- a good show that wraps up when the story is told: Barry (with Bill Hader and Henry Winkler)
Aaron making fun of Dusty, “I’m doing quite well as it is!” 😂
Aaron...Amazing question about the perception of a year. I had never thought about it, but for me it's definitely a circle with Jan. 1 being 12:00. Best of luck in 2025. I will be taking some of Dusty's advice and stockpile some food, batteries, etc...Anything else you recommend?
Thanks, Bryan
Most calming children’s show ever: Little Bear
Aaron, I've tried to have lucid dreams but it never works for me. But one night without trying I had a brief lucid dream. I was looking in a mirror and couldn't tell if it was real or not, even when I pinched myself. I woke up soon after but it was a wild feeling dream. 1:10:17 great editing btw
There is weird that Aaron talks about the visualization of the year, because there is something about January where I feel like you’re like, stepping back up on top of steps and then going back down into the year
Gary is wrong, Dusty is great at ad reads
All Dusty has to do is talk to Joe Rogan, Rogan talks to Elon, and poof Dusty is in space.
Dwight Yoakam is also in Four Christmases! He’s the preacher!
Pretty sure BodyCount Bates mentioned Jimmy Carter in 2024…so Happy New Year!
Yep, speak it Dusty!!! I was just envisioning tearing pages off a calendar when he summed it all up perfectly.
