I would not have been able to keep as cool as matt and michael and would have just said 'yes you moron 13% is not 0 so therefore there censorship". i also live how matt brought up the court case that came to the decision that it was censorship and he was so proud to say it is headed to the supreme court. how that is possible makes no sense. what was their argument to have it heard by the supreme court????????/
because the supreme court can pick and chose any case it wants to change. if there's an appeal on any decision (in the highest district courts, that is,) they can pick it up and decide it their way.
It isn't censorship if the social media company takes something down because it violates their terms of service - and a social media company, as a private enterprise, can have any terms of service it wants. If you don't like it, you don't have to post there. Goldman's overall point was that these posts were being flagged for violating the terms of service, but that the social media company involved did not just pull the posts, but considered the complaint instead and in 87% of the cases left the post up - i.e. it wasn't just doing some other entity's bidding, but was earnestly trying to enforce its terms of service. Only in a small minority of cases when it felt that a post did indeed violate its terms of service, did it take the post down. And, once again, taking down a post, after an investigation, for violating the terms of service is not censorship.

Anybody is free to do that, private citizen or government agent or whoever. Then the social media company acted on the report. And in 13% of the cases the company decided that the post in question really did violate its terms of service and took it down - in 87% of the cases the company let the post stay up. That isn't censorship. Censorship is when the government tells the socia media company it may not post this or that and enforces its decision. All the evil government was doing in this case was alerting the social media company to an alleged violation of its own policies and letting the social media company decide how to act on the allegation. Yeah, but the problem is that federal government (i.e., the FBI) expending resources to provide service to a social media company that someone is violating that company's terms of service. In other words the FBI was providing service to social media at the taxpayers' expense! That's where I have a huge problem.
I have a huge problem with FBI targeting rivals of Joe Biden which amounts to election interference with the 2020 election. Also the specific example of a congress member posting a peer reviewed scientific study that was censored because it provided scientific data that was contrary to CDC information is also problem. Most European democracies that followed the science did not mandate vaccinations for children under 12. Censoring Dr. "Jay" Bhattacharya is something a totalitarian country would do. When the semblance of a partnership arises between a private entity and the government, it transcends the ability of a private company to do as they wish dictated solely by their Terms and Conditions.. The First Amendment as well. becomes a part of the discussion because of the government involvement in the matter. It really is a matter of paying attention and a simple understanding of the constitution.
