I bought this great album when it was first released and still have it! It was produced by Jimi Hendrix, who I had seen in concert in September 1968 at the Allentown Fairgrounds.
@@iknowbut1919 from Wikipedia: "The association with Hendrix came through the band meeting him in New York City. Cat Mother was initially managed by Michael Jeffery, who also managed Hendrix. Cat Mother opened for Hendrix on several occasions, as a result."
..I listened to this song in the summer of 1970 in Chile and by chance, I heard a cover version of Caravelli ( Cest la vie,Lily ) and I could not believe it ....for more than 50 years I thought about it but I never knew the name of the song and let alone the band ....this just made my day, since it brings so wonderful memories of that time ....thank you so very much for making it available !!

This would have to be one of the most artistically evocative songs that I've ever heard.
Que Belleza de Canción!! Increíble que Pueda Existir Algo Tan Sublime
Yo ví a este grupo en Boston, en 2018 ' su sonido en vivo era mejor que el disco que grabaron unos año después.
Great song. Frenchman Joe Dassin did it justice with 'Lily'. Love the piano.

Thanks! First time I heard this since the late sixties...always has been stuck in my head!
I remember seeing this album on CD in a store in the late 90s. I regret not buying it as I haven't seen it since.

Une belle époque ❤
such a time machine, thinking about my father now
I'm old enough to be your father, or even grandfather. Make what you can of this great song. ua-cam.com/video/p23vQUlz25M/v-deo.html
Pretty hard to think about a song favorable to a prostitute. This is what this song is. I love it for being so.
yo tenía 16 años cuando sonaba esta canción!!
Magnifique chanson.

Temazo
This the other song I heard on AB, back in '69!

have you seen Marie
and she walks through the street of the city
she's picking flowers
she's passing hours
and she laughs with the soldiers in the square
well have you seen Marie
and she walks through the street of the city
she's wearing flowers
she's passing hours
and she flirts with the soldiers in the square
have you seen Marie
and she walks through the street of the city
she's selling flowers
she's begging ???????
and she bargains with the soldiers in the square
have you seen Marie
and she walks through the street of the city
she's old and worn
her dress is torn
and she laughs with the soldiers in the square
Thanks ! The lyrics were surprisingly hard to find.
@@sebastienchicot5806 You're welcome 🙂
joe Dassin , sing that en FRENCH
Adrien V c'est la viie, Lilyy
You mean he copied it, like he did so many other great original songs (Salut les Amoureux was not by him, etc..)

First time I noticed it but it sure sounds a lot like the doors
It does? How? In what way?
@@franknolan221 they have a song with a similar piano riff
yes, he did it.
Does anybody know anything about the finnish cover version?
No but I do know about the french one. It's called "c'est la vie lily" by joe Dassin if you want to check it out ;)
Yes it does have an eerie resemblance to Seattle's Modest Mouse. I really like Mouse's music, so I'll pardon their ripoff.
