i could feel his pain when the pasta overcooked. despite of that he wanted it perfect, he did not throw the pasta away. he shows us that everyone can make a mistake
This is why I love Jamie and understand his cooking. I was never taught how to cook per say, I watched my mother, my grandmother, my step mother and her mother cook and today I can cook for 20 people easy, because it comes from the heart. It comes a place of such honesty and each time I cook I feel completely relaxed:) We are a family of avid and passionate eaters and cookers, probably why I cook never really be "in shape" all my life and have curves! O well
Jamie you did an amazing job the passion you have for cooking shines through and I think there's a lot of Italian in you. Love you Jamie from all the Italians in Australia
1:41 when you're so nervous trying to make a good impression on your in laws that you accidentally start talking in German. But truly very sweet how nervous Jamie got and how friendly Gennaro's family was.
Seeing a great cook like Jamie be so nervous gives me a little boost in confidence. Thanks again Jaime for inspiring more people to embrace the beauty in cooking for others!
@Shohsanam Jones Have you visited Italy already? If yes, blessed you. If not yet, we all know we won't be able to visit that beautiful country in years to come due to this coronavirus pandemic. So sad...
This reminds me of the first time i cooked for my beautiful girlfriends family i was second guessing everything, i was so nervous. I made my version of a traditional Dublin dish called coddle( a stew with sausage and rasher bacon) it was her family's 1st time eating boiled sausage and they loved it. I still get this nervousness and eagerness to impress every time i cook for someone new.
respect to Gennaro and his pa, and most of all respect to you Jamie! You have took the inspiration you got from Gennaro and passed it on to millions of people :D
Being told he cooks as well as his mentor, by said mentor's father, really should be considered a great compliment, because as long as the father is proud of his son, it is.
literately felt his pain here....can cook a dish a million times and it be perfect but as soon as you try and cook it for a first date or for meeting your in laws or something it mucks up. lol. looks like he was worrying over nothing though. food looked great and granddad loved it.
Aww dude, Jamie was about to cry you can tell, I feel so bad, but I think they felt the love.
