Delightful! Thanks for posting. These old just-over-an-hour flicks were the "TV" of the day. Something you could go watch for a few cents and while away an hour or so. They weren't meant to be "high art" but just entertaining diversions and they are still that 80 years later.
You are so right "the junk on tv". I paid a lot of money monthly for cable TV and never got the selection and pause capabilities that I get with utube. So I canceled cable and save $60 monthly.
@Sunny Quackers others have a right to their preferences…doesn’t mean those preferences are any good…I once knew a person who loved castor oil…do you like it?….
This was among the Monogram features sold to a.a.p., which later became part of United Artists Television. UATV failed to renew the copyright in time, and the film entered the public domain in 1969.
This was worth the watch. It was nice to see young people portrayed as intelligent instead of nincompoops. And the girl didn't trip once and hurt her ankle. Watch it and I think you will like it. 😅😅
Oh, they still have quality (if one knows where to look). But you wouldn't condemn a piece of high-quality steel simply because it wasn't high-quality marble - unless it wasn't what fits your requirement or taste, eh? 🙂

At 45.23 the young couple enter an old empty house to look for the dead woman's money. They get locked in the "haunted house" at approximately 1:00. I don't know why some commenters are saying there is no old house in the story. They must not have watched it or don't know what a "haunted house" is.

I am still in love with Marcia Mae Jones after all these years 💕 first got the bug when I watched Heidi with Shirley temple. Sadly both no longer with use.

“ I guess money makes people do queer things , Jimmy “ … very profound wisdom from someone who lived over 80 years ago .
The young man reminds me of actor Tony Dow in "Leave It To Beaver". 🤔
I thought it was him until I realized it was too early.
I also thought it was Tony Dow too.
