This was made the year my oldest sister was born. Hard to imagine my parents as young as these people, even though I have seen pictures. Really like these old films. Thank you CCC.
I don’t usually go back further than the 40’s when watching these old gems...but I’m very glad I did with this one. When I watch these films, I often wonder what it was like to be in those times...what life was really like. Sometimes it makes wish I could go back and see for myself, but then I’d want to come back to my era😊 Great movie 🍿🎩🧋🎥

Charlie Grapewin (Jasper Whyte) played Uncle Henry in "The Wizard of Oz" and Inspector Richard Queen in the "Ellery Queen" movies between 1940 and 1942. Mary Carlisle (Doris Waveryly) appeared as Anne Howe in the recently streamed "Palooka." Arthur Hohl (Arthur Proctor) portrayed Montgomery in "Island of Lost Souls" along with Charles Laughton and Bela Lugosi. He also appeared with Charles Laughton as Olivier in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." Probably best known (in this group, anyway) for playing Phroso the clown in "Freaks."
Even the actors in this B movie in their minor roles showed more professionalism than the multimillion dollar actors of today that all they Have to remember to say is “THEY GOTTA TANK!”
Pretty woman must she be. When ladies get upset on me, I usually answer that the only kind I´m afraid is the beatifull. That usually setles the argument.
Does anybody remember the board game "Clue"? That's what came to mind while watching it. If you liked this movie, may I suggest The Gorilla or Sh...The Octopus. You'll understand what I mean after watching.

I found it humorous to hear Heda Hopper say "I'll never tell". Heda later became the formost gossip columnist in Hollywood.
And her son William was Paul Drake on Perry Mason.
Such a sweet movie really. Love the plot❤

An entertaining old dark house story.
Glad they had a backup.
Does anybody know which movie that stock music was first used? I hear that music in so many movies, especially in Bela Lugosi movies.
They are a very mixed-up group.
