I'm glad you came through Tumbarumba. I was hoping you would, as I was watching this video. The riding, up here, is fantastic. The town is extremely welcoming, too. If i'd known you were passing through, i'd have bought you a beer. Great video, mate.
A bit bummed that i only heard about this rally at the open roads rally a couple of weeks prior, seems like a good size rally . oh well maybe next year, cheers 4 sharing sir.
Now I'm really annoyed......I was going to put a late entry in for this APC Rally and hand full of days prior to the rally I broke my ankle in 3 places. You have shown me what I missed out on. Great vid keep up the great work. I'll be in the next one.
Id love to do a 1 day ride for anyone that wants to ride around 4-5 cattlemans huts around mt buller and the high country near mansfield. It will be either camp at base of buller or pay to book a lodge on mt buller for friday and sat night. Ride will be sat all day from 8am to around 4-5pm. Easy ride nothing too hard but senic as anything
14/48, that's my go-to ratio. Tyres... I started on an 80% Dunlop D606 and the 690's used MC360's. Both were knackered after 2000km. We put on some sort of Maxxis intermediate DOT-rated knobby, which was fine for about 2 days but wore down pretty quickly.
Too many big km days for my liking but the 500 is still the best bike for this work. Did you do an oil change? I’ve been doing them at 2-2,500km with no problems.
@@keithjob perfectmate , all my rides on my adventure bike up the desert are on hold because of road closures, just been smashing out hard kms on the 350 most weekends.

Have done East Coast APC and the last ADV X, loved them both!
My old TE630 only just survived the ADVX though :)
Yeah the ADVX is a whole other ball game... haven't done it but watched my mates do it.
Another great video Keith. Keep them coming.
The perfect trail ride and a good watch

G'day Graeme, yes bringing back memories from early APC rallies was my goal for this ride!

Looked a great ride and tracks.Thks.JHB-SA.
The day I'll be able to finally purchase a 450 or 500... This will be the day my life changes.
Looked like fun to me 👍
Couldn't quite see what the comms set up was that you were using. Guessing not Cardo ?
Wait... are you still washing your bike!?? 🙂 Nice one mate, I just happened to be in Bello visiting family when you came through - was very jealous.
What gearing did you use in the 500 for this type of ride?
Also interested to hear what tyres you chose?

Keith, what do you carry for a tire patch kit and air pump?
two tubes and a tomcat air compressor ua-cam.com/video/G7-CgwPAgbY/v-deo.html
Is there a way of getting these routes?

Yeah I did, at the halfway mark 2000km
So mate I am guessing you only changed the oil and no filter ounce for that trip ?
Oil and filter changed at the halfway mark, about 2000km.

He's often grumpy, but he's not "the" Grumpy ;-)
