How you doing I have a question. I have a Detroit series 60 and i keep getting a 5 volt DC supply fault code. It was giving me issues truck would stay running but won’t accelerate.
I had this problem 2 times in one week. Had a corroded can wire from acm to ecm. Fixed wire and found circuit still open. Trouble shooting found where those to wires go to ecm . Resistance in ecm was OL. Took out the ecm that bad wire.
I have a 2018 volvo vnm 200 and I had a guy hook up a car scan tool to it and now I'm not getting any communication from ecu. I'm in derate with no check engine light or faults. Runs and drives but 5mph only. What should I check to fix? Thanks in advance
Hello, and thank you for watching. If the J1939 data link is not communicating, the next step would be to troubleshoot the data link. Try another Omnitrac and ensure it is adequately connected first.

Have a problem with a J1339 link 2004 International with ISX cummins and a Rather Rare ZF Freedomline automatic with 1.6 million miles the link broke right where it plugs into the transmission harness a three wire connector only the green and yellow are used at the transmission side, anyways I personally don't have access to the transsoft 2.1 program to check to see what ISO faults are active, I was wondering if anyone new if the OEM software is required to clear a fault like this because after finding the wire damage and replacing the bad pins in the connector I still won't clear the faults, I didn't see anything in the Service manual requiring the OEM software to clear faults

My truck was stolen and it had a camera tracking system installed. It was ripped out and caused the truck to shut off. It does turn over but it doesn’t start code j1939 maintenance ecu. When I picked it up from the recovery yard it started up no codes but less than 10 miles down the road this code came up and the truck shut off.
Check ground wire, batery to frame ( new wire) , Volvo has issue with ground wires. or engine to frame, or starter, if you recently change battery or starter re-tighte all connections
@@Anareo Another thing can be the battery cables poorly mounted over the transmission. They'll ride on a sharp bracket that cuts into the cable insulation. Power will blank out completely in bumps. Until it gets so bad that power goes out and stays out. Problem is a massive short due to that positive cable touching the metal. Fix the mounting of the cable (I cover with silicone hose) and then change the blown negative cable from the batteries to the frame. Blown fusible link in it.
Pulling F59 and F13 fuse a good place to start if communications have been removed. The terminatingresistor at one end of the data link is located in the Fuse/Relay Center near the VECUandtheothernearthe engine ECU. On vehicles equippedwith Volvo engines, the terminating resistor at the engine end is located inside the ECM. On vehicles equipped with Cumminsengine,the terminatingresistor is located in the harness area just outside of the Engine ECU. Adatalink connection is located at the transmissionarea in the chassis harness. On vehicles equipped with an electronically controlled transmission (Allison/AutoshiftII/MeritorFreedom Line), the connection to the transmission is located at the chassis harness. On vehicles equipped with a manualnon-electronicallycontrolled transmission- the connector stub will have an un-terminatedblanking plug installed.

Hey Adam question headed out buy steer tires pulled up to a local store grab drink went to neutral truck went dead pulled brakes tried restart no start towed to local Volvo dealer but it showing multiple codes but it is saying j1939 not communicating, service transmission ecu, not communicating with truck ecu been racking my brain on this one because is booked up and truck been down for 4 days waiting to get in the shop have seen this before and maybe what I'm looking at thanks good videos

I have an 07 international with an ISX in it..... I just replaced my fuel dampener seals about 2 days ago...... Today I started the truck up and all my gauges started cycling and oil pressure and temperature pressure pleasure going off.... Coming and going and I have multiple photos but I can only read the Sid numbers the one number that stands out is s i d 231a which is this J code ..... There is an ELD hooked up to the truck also there used to be an old style b Qualcomm I bought the truck they cut the wires in the back of the cab it went to the dish... It's been about 6 months I've had no problems until now.... Like right now my lights are flashing again and odometer screen says no data link... Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated... I do have trade school experience at 10 plus years in the automotive field so I do understand that this is a communication problem between the can system Network..
I got that very problem now with my 2007 Volvo 780 ran fine but abs/tc would come on and engage brakes took in to the shop left truck idling and came back and truck shut off and had on dash check ecu maintenance data link and wouldn't start. Volvo said I needed a new ecu and possibly a wiring harness....

Hi Adam, a friend of mine is having an issue with his D13 when driving loseing all accelertor response, he pulls over shuts down and start truck right back up could be 15 mins or an hour before happens again. Crankcase Sensor, p delta sensor, tps with pedal, fuel filters all replaced turbo boost pressure and cleaned issue still remains....Ive been told possible diode issue in datalink. Does that make sense and could you explain possibly where to find or where it should be? Thanks
yeah. I had an issue like that a few years ago in an 09 780. Before I could figure it out I got rid of it. I recall the TCS light being on the whole time, though. It seemed in my mind that the system thought I was losing control and forced the accelerator off. Who knows but I don't think J1939 data links have diodes. There are 2 resistors at 120 ohms apiece and I believe the way to test those is check what resistance is at pins C and D on the diagnostic connector (the round 9-pin one, anyway). If the ohms are around 60, the resistors are fine.

we see a lot of issues with ELD devices when people attempt to access the back bone of the j1939 . sometimes the wiring is great and the actual device is the culprit. we have seen interference by add on devices on the j1939 circuit that cancel the regen system operations too.
I've been having issues and I noticed that the codes also pop up when I plug in my diagnostic tool into the glitter that came with the elog. I unplugged it about an hour ago and had no fault code since. I've literally been killing myself trying to find the problem this is it....

I see a lot of volvo/macs on here so I decided to throw mine in the pot. I have a 2012 volvo isx15 that is giving me a major headache, truck shuts down after 45 seconds of being on. Here is the run down of problems pioneer touchscreen is giving j1939 error code, elog is giving engine synchronization problems, gauges act all funny giving false data, codes 1176 fmi 2 and 18, spn 102 fmi 2 and 18, spn 601 fmi 1. Diagnostic equipment has hard time connecting. Any one have any idea what it could be

My 2016 casacdia elog has 1939 cannot connect code.. its an omnitrac and its a simple plug and play what should i check

J1587, it comes on Everytime it rains. Truck shuts off..any ideas.. Volvo action said it's a shirt between your and module and ecu..

If you lose all power jakes are your last worry. But sound like battery box wiring connection faulty

Do you know if the data link has been tied into? If so than the resistance would need to be check on J1939
My last carrier hard wired the Qualcomm thats about 3 months since I left them and current carrier plugs directly to 9 pin
