This is so awesome!! The reactions in the first driving impression’s almost made me feel like I was there, sharing the excitement. I’m currently thinking of doing this to an 86, so found this through a search. Glad I did! Awesome car and great content 👍🏼
Shifting seems ruff on your part the owner knows how to shift it the right way. Great video though. I really like quality and information
He granny shifting, not double clutching like you should ? 😂
Idk, its pretty difficult to slam gears with max efficiency in the first few mins on a trans and engine you've never touched
No shit it's an LS swap that he's never driven before. Lmao
@@CommunistPilotfacts hahaha
He’s granny shifting, not his car lol
An Ls is a perfect engine to put in this car. This is amazing fr
Imagine putting an LS in a new gen Brz/Gr86 since the 2 liters are proven to be junk....
@@garrenturk4093bro thats a terrible idea, people would need to be astronauts to handle that
Hypereutetic forged pistons. Neat😂👍🏻
The balancing is also wrong. There is no way in hell you go from a stock 53front/47rear weight distribution to 49front/51rear with a v8 in this car . By thus guys calculation the LS lighter than the 4cyl 😂😂😂😂
Currently on forged weisco pistons. I was wrong on the weight it’s actually 52/48 now 53/47 with the blower 😁
Would be sick if you did the 4 center exhaust pipes from a C7 and then filled the holes where the exhaust use to be with reverse lights. 2003 subaru outback fog lights would be crazy for reverse lights.
Nice clean looking build and the smiles per mile were off the chart. More tire yet?
got me some of them hypereutectic forged aluminunium pistons!
How much did the swap cost?
For prefect setup 25-30k plus
I’d say prob 8-10k with motor and labor
@@inshallah4280that sounds low
I mean unless you went with a salvage motor
@@inshallah4280 parts alone are like 15k
The only downside to this swap is the t56
Good thing I got a tr6060 from a ZL1
Does he have a UA-cam account with videos of his FRS build?
No i don’t sorry 😢

When ppl do swaps they hardly ever mention how much lol it’s annoying. Everyone always wana know how much.
Because it's a lot, depends on the person, and incredibly hard to explain to most unless they are very technically aware. That or a shop did it and they don't want to admit it for whatever reason
@@pwnzlikemeI think it’s super lame to ridicule people for paying a shop to do their swap.
@@DigitalSubset Straight up homie. Why the hell would I spend longer than necessary (for worse results) swapping an engine when I could have a shop do it better in less time. The time that I save by not doing it myself I can spend working, which pays for the swap.... it's a no brainer really.
I used to own a 2017 GT86 (special edition) which I eventually supercharged. Car looked amazing, drove/handled good and was well modified all around. I thought about LS swapping but I eventually just ended it up trading it in for a 2003 C5 Corvette which I still own today and let me just say, for a 20 year old car it beats a lot modern sports cars at a great price! After 1997 Corvette really changed the game as they came out with the LS1 engine and added a T56 transmission to the rear of the car, giving it a true 50:50 split balance. (That was the Dodge Viper transmission for those that don't know) My point being is if you really like the BRZ/GT86 platform/LS swap, you will absolutely fall in love with a C5 Corvette!!! They are super affordable and probably cheaper than a BRZ/GT86 these days. The C5 is literally the best sports car for the price I've ever been in!!
PS - Who can say no to a fiberglass body sports car lol ❤
i agree!
BRO I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN
You can have 2 identical looking 86’s
The moment you LS/JZ swap it, the whole attitude of the car changes.
Once you KNOW it’s a beast, they all of a sudden look cool and not fruity
What would it cost me to do this swap? Which LS motor is this, motor mounts? What his social, IG?
lmk if you've learned anything on this
It's been a minute since hearing anything from the editor but if your able to get an LS crate engine, a google search of "SIKKY LS BRZ" will provide the trans parts, chassis parts, bearings, & mounts to get you going in the right direction. They make some video on the website...kindav like I step wise tutorial on LS2 or LS3s, i forget which 1. Hopes this helps! 👍🏾
Twin turbo v8. Why would you destroy a naturally aspirated v8 i will never understand why anyone would do that. Supercharging yes but turbo why
If you do it right, the twins are much more efficient, but supercharged hits at all rpms
Don't you dare go for rpf1s
better than aodahanhahahans
Its a sweet swap but after the cost of doing the swap you might as well just buy a vette.
holy fuck rpm gauge doesnt workkkk this guys a fucking menace
Is there a way to do a swap and still have most the dash guages working ?
If done properly all will work.
Theres LS swap kits for this car that will come with a custom wiring harness to get it to work
If you do a Ls3 you can get harness from wiring specialties and literally everything works. It's a canbus translator built in.
@@Shiftheads bet
Pretty well done swap. I'd love to see this lq9 take some boost. Crazy platform for a frs for sure
More tire needed first.
WTF is an lq9?
@@VerisimilitudeDudeit’s a 6.0 block bro
@@Carlitos9321 Ah, ok. Thanks
@VerisimilitudeDude You're letting your ignorance show 🤡
Under the hood made my OCD trigger. Now I wont sleep thinking about the wiring mess I saw.
When did hypereutectic forged pistons come out?
The owner gave dat import sum muscle 💪 😅.

should i LS swap my frs
*Just Do It!!!!*
I'm gonna put a 5.3 on my FC Rx7 Drift missile
I just started to LS swap my ‘13 FRS. Going with an all aluminum LS2
@@vdubcustoms6957 im abt to do the same
@@vdubcustoms6957 how much does it cost to do this, do you vlog your build on your channel or social?
Williams Daniel Perez Richard Walker Barbara
Man I'm so jealous. I've wanted an FR-S since 2016 and I'm just exploring what kind of engines you can stuff in it. There is no way I could LS swap a Corolla! Incredible moddability from this platform.
What all did he have to cut firewall wise
What did you use for motor mounts
Cx Racing but change the bushings for energy suspension brand.
Is it legal for you guys if you live in California
Technically not illegal but you will get pulled over if it’s that loud. I would run a quieter exhaust set up or atleast a valvetronic one
Never heard of hyper eutectic and forged
Williams Lisa Lewis Amy Lee Jason
"how it shouldve came" not realizing more than half the kids wouldnt own this car if it came with that power
Idk what everyone else saw but damn that lil 86 was moving, sounds great perfect platform for boost, plus I seen you start from a roll in the rain tryna catch an awd that’s already over 100. Cool car.
What transmission?
It must be both alarming and 💔 for JDM fanatics to find out that you can still have a V8 engine with superb handling in a sports car
Blake Creek
Honestly the v8 only weighs a 100-200 more lbs
What’s the wheel and offset and tire set up??
Top tier vid quality dude cant wait to see it go up👍👍

What's his Instagram? I have 1 too 👌🏾
monty_auto_racing
What trans did he use?
tachometer broke
Sounds amazing.
Hyped to see that he’s got it back up and running! Great review
Big question, is it better than a C6?
yeah with all the money it would take to do this properly might as well as get a c6 z06. I think a turbo k swap would make more sense. Easier to work on and better weight distribution. I feel like it would be much sharper.
Stock base c6 yes. Car and build cost about 14k and I’m gapping c6 ls2 and ls3.
What trans/ rear end ratio? Those gears are so close together I love it
Probably stock diff with a t56/magnum f
How much horsepower?
Probably 500ish on stage 2 cam.
топ свап
What transmission
Tr6060/t56
What are the wheel specs? Looks great
5x100 18x9 38et
I must have missed it, what transmission is in it?
Tr6060
needs t56 magnum instead
@@viivcreations9161 that's basically the same thing
why a built engine if it's stock? wtf this is waste of money
He said he was planning on running boost through it eventually so I guess he wanted to future proof and also have some piece of mind.
Lol it still makes a lot of power with built internals lmfao.
Because he can.
