    Far too many people don’t look at where the wideband controller is grounded. Like you mentioned it’s crucial . Great information ❤

    You missed one more benefit of CAN controllers, you are not restricted with the range of the output signal. You can send data for lambda up to infinity... And that is quite convenient for example for diesel engines.

    I bought a plx Gen 4 wideband, seen good reviews and it has a simulated narrowband. Was this a good choice.
    I also just bought your reflash tuning course and cant wait to start

    I thought running the engine with the O2 sensor not heated up is what caused them to foul. Was told the heat on the sensor stops the moisture from condensing on the element. You're saying it's ok to not turn it on for the first 15 or so seconds?

    • @vozhdmeister5256
      @vozhdmeister5256 2 місяці тому +2

      You think right. Lambda sensors must heated but they have to be installed and heated such way they are never hit by a water drop when they are fully heated.
      If you look for Bosch LSU documentation you will find that the lambda sensor heating process at startup is delayed, progressive and staged

    IIRC, this is how you got the 4.9 wideband to work on your EMU black right? any chance you can show or say how you wired that in? I'm running an EMU black 1.8t PNP and want to set it up for the 4.9

    • @vozhdmeister5256
      @vozhdmeister5256 2 місяці тому

      As it has an internal wideband control and a local port to drive a wideband lamda Probe, the EMU black doesn't need any external wideband controller unless you want to use several wideband lambda sensors. Just wire up a LSU 4.9 to EMU black (refer manual) and you're done

    • @DZGunner
      @DZGunner 2 місяці тому

      @@vozhdmeister5256 Right thats what it should be, but in a previous video where he was showcasing the EMU black, he mentioned that while it says it supports the LSU4.9, they weren't able to get it to work without the external controller, and i think he specifically mentioned using a haltech controller. which makes sense sinse in the software under the sensor type selection, it actually has haltech controller as a preset option.

    • @vozhdmeister5256
      @vozhdmeister5256 2 місяці тому

      @@DZGunner oh, yes, I remember that video. Andrew contacted ecumaster support but they didn't managed to get the EMU black to monitor air fuel ratio using its internal controller, then he worked the issue around by using another way...
      But that issue was specific to the EMU black Andrew got at that moment : hopefully others are embedding a fully working internal wideband controller... otherwise Ecumaster would face a huge problem at customer service level, likely burried under dozens of returned EMU black for repair. Internal wideband controller is an official EMU black feature, on specific case one could got one which includes an issue but generally that feature must be working fine.

      @@DZGunner EMU Black works just fine with lsu 4.9 sensors. I have not had a unit that wasn't working properly with it's internal controller. Once there was a case where one specific brand new Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor was not reacting at all (bmw oem). Swapped another sensor and all was good.

    I have an ECU with a integrated wideband that I am going to run on a V8, but I also have an old AEM Wideband controller, should I ever run both at the same time? one on each bank or would i be asking for trouble with such an setup?

    • @Mike-ry4ti
      @Mike-ry4ti 2 місяці тому +2

      You're going to want to use the same controllers for two, not two different brands as they will read and calibrate slightly different and give different readings.

      In such setup the best would likely be achieved by using a CAN to lambda controller which is able to drive at least one lambda sensor per cylinder bank. It implies your ECU is CAN compatible

    Spartan Wideband controllers output calibration voltage, So you can calibrate the voltage offset via a given calibration table- I thought every other manufacturer already knew that….
