You. You had a few episodes early on where it was just you and man oh man, you was dropping jewel after jewel. But if I have to pick a person other than you, probably Jackie.
I’m crying that in the beginning of the video Lecrae tells his momma to talk about everything but when she starts he’s like “naw momma we ain’t gotta tell it all” 😂😂 she was spilling all the childhood tea
This sounds like a conversation of two healed individuals. You can tell their love for each other aswell as how the struggle molded em into who they became. Felt like a two sided interview which is beautiful. Crae getting to see his mom's thoughts and her hearing his!
Listen here your mom needs her own show☺️ She was so genuine real funny and down to earth. And it was so good hearing both of your perspectives of how you grow up!!!
Chile...lil Lecrae was something else!🤣 Your mom was a trooper and she raised you well Lecrae. I love your mom's courage to share her story❤ She's a beautiful lady.❤❤
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lecrae! This interview with your Mom was wonderful. Thank you for sharing her with us. My son lost his mind too but in H.S. but God is good. You and your family are a blessing. Thank you for your talent, time, and transparency. #Texasstandup
Mannnn watching this as a fan since the first church clothes album is CRAZYYYYY. Seeing this side of Lecrae and watching new mannerisms come out (weird thing to point out) but there’s a different light in his eyes during this conversation with momma, who by the way is a soldier and deserves her own award bc YOU POPPED FIRE CRACKERS IN SOMEONES EAR??? Wilding out 🤣
Your mom is so beautiful inside and out. The way she took accountability for her wrongs is HUGE! I wish my mother did that. She may not have been perfect but it’s evident that she was a great mother❤️
“You may not be picking cotton, but you might be picking peas” is SO REAL. What she meant is history repeats itself, even if it’s not exactly the same, it’ll be close to it. We might not be picking cotton, but still experiencing racism is a real thing.
Wow. This is so good and raw. I tuned in to the whole conversation and this genuinely challenged me as a young man to keep nourishing my relationship with my mom while she is still alive. Thanks, Lecrae, brother! One love from South Africa!
This interview with your mother helped me to solidify my motherhood and my tactics with my sons. My sons said I had more faith and support in them than they had in themselves.
This interview doesn’t have as many views as a lot of others probably because people thought it would be boring. It’s anything but that. Definitely one of my favorite interviews. So fun!
My mum and dad both died in 2020. I miss them both greatly. Your story of how you converted and came home all zealous sounds like what I went through. 😅 Love this interview. Your relationship with your mother is so precious! Blessed to have years together still. ❤
This was soooo good 🙌🏼. I love the vulnerability and honesty from both of you 🙌🏼. But the retelling of your childhood antics from both sides had me cracking up on the subway ride home 🤣🤣. Another great episode 💪🏽.
Greetings from South Africa! This was really good. I enjoyed every minute of it. So m much to glean from it. Thanks Lercrae. I got to know you through your album 'AFTER THE MUSIC STOPS' back in 2006 and introduced you to my family. All my five children grew up loving you and I continue to enjoy your music up till your recent album CC4. Thanks for all you do for the Lord.
I'm just glad to hear your mum talk, never seen or heard her before his conversation. She is blessed indeed, and you just resonated that good son-mother feel right there.
As a single mom, this really hit me. My son is only 4, and of course I don’t want him to grow up too fast but I truly look forward to having a conversation with him when he is older like this. I pray to be as honest with him as your mom was with you.
I love how open, honest, and transparent his mom is... this kind of vulnerability brings so much healing. These are the healing, truthful conversations that many families need. Hard conversations bring strength to rebuild 😭😭🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
LOLOL Lecrae forgot all the juicy stuff. That's why you have to have these convos with your folks. To them, these times were like yesterday. Plus convos like these help put the pieces together for kids who simply weren't paying attention and lacked context. This convo was GOOD. Thanks, Lecrae. Will you do one with your pop?
Ohh what a beautiful and real talk . As a single mom hearing this story gives me hope. My son adores you lecrae ❤. By the way your mom is so funny “ Lord Jesus put me in the floor I will roll “😂
This is so special!! I can relate as a mom of a creative doing his thing out there. I can also relate to your mom's humanity. I see myself in her. God bless you both. Thank you for your transparency. Love it! ❤
I LOVED the revival. I went to Sunday school, Sunday morning worship, Sunday Night bible study, Wednesday night service, Friday night service, Saturday morning choir rehearsal. I miss all of that now. I am glad that was my background.
I've found that every individual cogic, holiness, apostolic, pentecostal church had its own dominating spirit, even within the same convention. Some truly let the Holy Spirit lead, and you can tell because the congregants love each other in word and deed. Other churches are actually led by a spirit of condemnation, and you can the difference because one church is thriving while the other is dying. Cuz same! Revivals, councils, and conventions were so much fun.
I had the same experience your mom had when I started going to my church. The people showing love and giving hugs. Our ushers are not called ushers they are called HUGS.
Lecrae sir, you are a spitting image of your mother. She seems real cool, I met you back in 2008 at a concert you performed at along with Sho Baraka in Abilene, Texas. You guys welcomed me and poked fun at me for wearing an argyle sweater vest and a New York Yankees cap lol. I thought I was looking clean, I was feeling myself. God Bless!
This was my favorite episode hands-down 🔥 your mother is everything just Real 🙏 now it all make sense on how you became the man that you are so thank you Mama for giving us this wonderful guy Mr Lecrae..........
I loved this interview 🔥 Still have my physical copy of "Anomaly" somewhere. My first albums were "Church Clothes Vol 1" and "Gravity." Listened to them MANY times! I also like how you've transitioned into podcasting 😁
Not me at work fighting to hold back tears😭 Your mom gave me hope. Being a single mom of two young boys myself I constantly worry about the struggles they’ll face growing up without a consistent father (figure) and role model. I know this journey has not been easy and you have had your ups and downs but seeing the vulnerability, honesty transparency, healing, and most of all continued faith in Christ, is so inspiring. I’m going to continue doing the best I can and allow God to fill in the gaps. Thank you so much for this episode. Truly blessed me ❤
Omg this interview was a whole vibe. Mom is awesome!!! Don't be ashamed of the mispronounciatons. My mom blows some words up ALL the time. 😂 I like the accountability on all parts. I say to my folks; once you take accountability for the past mistakes, it's all gravy after that. The worst lies you can tell are to yourself. ❤❤❤
This really meant a lot to me to see the relationship. I only wish my mother took accountability & could have a sit down with me like this. Beautiful & inspiring! ❤️
I absolutely loved this interview. Your mom is so beautiful and funny and I love how open and honest she was. I really miss my mom and I wish I could have these talks with her. Great great interview !
Thank you for this conversation, Crae. Your mom is your biggest fan and support. That was so beautiful to watch. The authenticity, accountability - dope👌🏽! Loved every minute of this❤. It gave me some form of healing and hope. Watching from South Africa 🇿🇦
Thank you mom. My friend is from a toxic single abusive family background. I try to understand how the person behaves, ttreats me and relates. As a Christian and a believing person, many a times I want to cut ties with the individuals but when I think of the trauma and challenging background, I try my best to let the person heal. Also, as a worker with most single young people and adults ex-offending, ex-addicts in recovering process, seeing one growing up psychologically is the most rewarding.
This was amazing. It was so wholesome and it was amazing to learn about you and your context from her perspective. You guys seem pretty similar from what I can tell from a 1 hour interview lol!
Your mom is very transparent and I respect that. The father issue still hit home. You can see it in his eyes. Praying for total healing and the spirit of adoption in totality.
As a single mom this one hit! We're in the awkward preteen stage. I was listening and he came and sat down for dinner on the part talking about you growing up with out a father and he was like, "mom, who is that?" I said, Lacrae and he smiled." We love your music and he was so intrigued about the dialog between you and your mother. Keep doing God's work, and thank you for your honesty!
Your mom is so beautiful and sweet! Her accountability is so refreshing. What a blessing. Lecrae I appreciate you and your music so so much. Thank you for following God’s plan for your life. I hope you feel the support from so many of us.
**Lecrae!!** I just love you and your mom. As a mom with two boys who adore you, I've really enjoyed your podcast and appreciate your honesty and transparency. Thank you for being such a positive role model and for inspiring not just my sons, but countless others. Your music and words have a powerful impact, and I'm grateful for the way you use your platform to share truth and encouragement.
Who has been your favorite guest on my show so far?
Lebonbon

I am pretty sure it will be your mother but of course I love me some Jackie Hill Perry and I love love love me some Priscilla
You. You had a few episodes early on where it was just you and man oh man, you was dropping jewel after jewel. But if I have to pick a person other than you, probably Jackie.
JHP, PRESTON PERRY & TORI KELLY
CANT EVEN PICK ONE.
THE SHOW HAS BEEN AMAZING
I love that your mom is accountable for her actions. Most moms don’t do that. I love the relationship!
Facts
I love that too.
Yes! They're friends. I love it. She's his mom but neither of them are shielding the other. Can't wait to get to this point with my sons.
Listen here your mom needs her own show☺️ She was so genuine real funny and down to earth. And it was so good hearing both of your perspectives of how you grow up!!!
She called him "straight A Lecrae" 😂 that sounds like it could be an album title.
I thought the same thing lmafo
Chile...lil Lecrae was something else!🤣 Your mom was a trooper and she raised you well Lecrae. I love your mom's courage to share her story❤ She's a beautiful lady.❤❤
She gave a new meaning to freezing your accounts! hahahaha!!! That's great
I was not expecting that 😂😂😂
I'm still laughing about that one! 🤣
Loved this opportunity to eavesdrop on this intimate discussion between mother and son! Thanks to both of you for being so authentic!
I feel like we need a part two from you and Momma. We can't stop here, yall are therapeutic 😌 She has so much to share. 🙏🏾
Your mom is so beautiful inside and out. The way she took accountability for her wrongs is HUGE! I wish my mother did that. She may not have been perfect but it’s evident that she was a great mother❤️
Great conversation. Thanks for bringing your mother on the channel.
“You may not be picking cotton, but you might be picking peas” is SO REAL. What she meant is history repeats itself, even if it’s not exactly the same, it’ll be close to it. We might not be picking cotton, but still experiencing racism is a real thing.
Thanks for explaining this.
Exact meaning .. thank you
As therapist, i’m proud of your mom’s level of accountability. Most parents just deny our pain. Good job mom 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I love your mom lol. She’s so real. Nice to see how transparent both of you are. Enjoyed this conversation
Why do black mamas have words they mispronounce?!? lol love it!
😂 I used to wonder why. But now my daughter notices words that I mess up.😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Man this was the best episode so far! There were a lot of things that hit me straight in the face! Thanks for bringing your mom on the show!
Aww her reaction when lecrae said it's the end ❤😂 it shows she has more to say that's why I like grandparents they always have stories to tell ❤❤
Wow. This is so good and raw. I tuned in to the whole conversation and this genuinely challenged me as a young man to keep nourishing my relationship with my mom while she is still alive. Thanks, Lecrae, brother! One love from South Africa!
I love her quote "you're human, you're not perfect, you make mistakes, but you're doin Gods work." ❤
This interview with your mother helped me to solidify my motherhood and my tactics with my sons. My sons said I had more faith and support in them than they had in themselves.
🔥💛💛
This interview doesn’t have as many views as a lot of others probably because people thought it would be boring. It’s anything but that. Definitely one of my favorite interviews. So fun!
