My Grandfather was a moonshiner in Cottonwood and ran moonshine through the Canyon when it was one lane. Big on the moonshine there during prohibition.
I lived in Cottonwood from 1993 -1999, really laid back then. It looks like a scaled down Sedona without the red rocks. I can barley recognize it now. Back then the only wine you could get was from a liquor store or supermarket. Nice camera work by the way.

I appreciate the slow pans, and the opportunity to freeze the video and read the various signs and plaques. One is more inclined to take the time to read them from the screen, than when actually in these areas.
1966, I went to a two room school house. I was in the first grade. I would love to retire here. I was born in flagstaff. Sure miss arizona. Now in Oregon
I was there last week, and met up with a childhood friend of mine there that owns a consignment/antique/collectible shop on Cherry St. It was the first time that I had seen him in 45 years! Thanks for the Vlog!
Your videos are phenomenal. I grew up in Arizona and have been to Sedona many times. I don’t know Cottonwood at all. Maynard changed the vibe of that area completely. It’s crazy… lol
I am really enjoying these little tours of cities in AZ!! I find them very interesting and helpful. You are a great videographer and narrator. Thanks for sharing!
Love the city just got home from there. I know this video is a couple years old but I don’t think there were sub 200k house there then. My last trip there about 3 or 4 years ago a new 4 bed, two bath house about 1800sq ft was $380k
Just so ya know, Cottonwood also has an Airport, it's an uncontrolled Airfield that has a paved runway approx. 4250 ft, and also sports a night time Beacon. Been to an Air Show there before, really a nice Place! 👍 😉
Ace, thx Jeff, my folks and friends love these, your vids supplement my vids xxx We went to Verde Ranch RV resort, Camp Verde, a month ago, we got sunburnt after spending too much time in the RV park pool lol. We didn’t go to Cottonwood, as we spent all our time in the RV park, so thx again
How sad compared to when I lived and worked there back in the 70's.Most of the 'hippies' lived up in Jerome. I used to drive CTI trucks based out of Clarkdale. My in laws owned a restaurant called "The natural Gourmet". All organic beef etc. And now instead of being an old town nice and quiet,it's been gentrified and looks more like a giant hippy store. Anybody remember Alfredos Mexican restaurant? Les Paul used to drop in once and a while and play guitar with Alfredo, all for the price of a dinner. Sometimes 'being discovered' only helps out real estate agents I guess. Oh yeah, best steak dinner in Cottonwood back then was the WhiteHorse. Last time through there,it was a sports bar. They used to have the best damn Porterhouse steaks on the planet. Sigh...
I completely understand your nostalgia. I was born and brought up in Flagstaff way back in 50's and 60's. Worked at Wigwam curio shop, and loved the 'Pow Wow' parade every year. My favorite place was slide rock in Oak Creek. All such good memories! 🤔🤗
The world is constantly changing . I’m sure the people who lived there in the 30’s and 40’s weren’t to happy when their town started changing in the 60’s and 70’s.
I'm enjoying living in Arizona through your videos, this one is especially nice. I visited Phoenix back in 2005, just days before hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans; I was visited my friends Joseph and Yale in Scottdale at Razormaid. We routinely went on nightly walks, the dry heat was kinda nice compared to the warm humidity here in Alabama where I now live---I lived in Denver CO for about nine years, I loved the warmer months there...also low hunidity, in fact very dry cold air in the winter which required lip balm and hand mosturizer, I wasn't used to that. Plus dry hands made it difficult not to damage my dress ties getting ready for work---dry scales on my hands would damage the threads if I wasn't careful 🙂
Me and my mom recently took the Verde Canyon RR and had dinner in Cottonwood. I was surprised by all the hipsters that were there! lol I really wanted to check out that dirt walk you took towards the end down into the natural verde area but it was night time and it was doing that dusting of snow in Jerome so it was too cold...guess I got a reason to go back!
At first blush, Cottonwood is somewhat nondescript. Reminds me a little like Santa Paula in Ventura County California. But the wine tasting and the shops are quite appealing. 🌲🍷 🌵
Great video! What is that nice chill out music you have in the background for most of the video? Either the song or artist or even the genre? Thank you
Show Low, Show Low, Show Low, xxx in advance, we want to summer there, we got gazumped on a house there, we will try again next spring to find a place there.
Crazy tony is my uncle and never knew my name had such a stance until I visited a few weeks ago for the first time in about 8-10 years. I suggest visit it if ya like crazy
I live in the UK and since I was a kid wanted to move to the US and specifically to California. May I ask you why you r disgusted with California? thank you
How's it going? I was wondering if you plan on doing anymore videos of Cottonwood or the whole Verde Valley or even more about Yavapai county? My family wants to move maybe next summer, tired of Wyoming and the snow, they just had 26 inches a week ago, fell in a 24 hour period, over it. I have been watching all the videos and most of it has to do with your neck of the woods. If you are not planning on it, do you know any other channels I can check out? I am not worried about housing, it is going up everywhere. I want to know more ways of things like jobs, maybe things for kids in or around the area. My wife works at Walmart so that is no big deal. I am a truck driver so not sure how the market is in that area. Thank you in advance, have a good day and keep up the cool videos.
Cottonwood like Sedona was much better and a greater place to live before the tourist moved in. Now all you have are crowded streets higher prices, Traffic congestion, No real Drs. Now both are more expensive to live in and not family friendly. In the early days we could go to any river and have a picnic or go to the lake. Now all of that if fenced off or/and charge you for going there. I took myself a tour so I know, I lived there till I left in 1981. Would never go back there to live again.
Do you have any suggestions of places to see or visit that are wheelchair friendly? I’m going to be staying in Scottsdale for a week beginning this coming Wednesday. My little guy is wheelchair bound. Even if to see the beauty of driving somewhere and light walking. I’m open to things to see and do within a 2 hour drive of Scottsdale. Thanks so much!

Been there a couple times. If I ever decide to move to Arizona, Cottonwood is where I will go. My wife and I always make it to Nic's for dinner.

Thank you!! Loved the music and your laid back demeanor and intel on shops. God Bless you!!
Cottonwood Dairy Queen is possibly the best I’ve ever experienced in my life. The old way. I loved everything about Cottonwood, AZ.
I stopped in Georgie’s Cafe on the home from Sedona. Great service, home feeling of an atmosphere.
Your doing AZ a service by doing these video. THX
I lived in Sedona in 1971 and they bused us kids to Cottonwood for school. Boy, it’s all grown.
I would have loved to have lived there way back then, half a century ago.
Lived in AZ for nearly 6 years and only 2 weeks ago I finally drove through cottonwood, I’d say that may be the single best part of the entire state
Wrong 😂😂😂
