Today we replace the rear axle seal on my 2016 GMC Sierra. This process should be similar with any newer GM vehicles. Hope this helps!

My 2018 has a driver side bad at 46k. Also have bad axel shaft. Never towed a ting.. been a pavement queen and never beat on.

Just did mine and for the C clip just put the truck in neutral and turn it over and spin the C clip till it just drops. Also just took a sludge hammer to the center of the axle to push it in far enough

I hear the shaft should be replaced depending on a code on axle. Bad heat treating I've heard. I have a 2014 sierra 5.3 and its leaking. I wonder if just the axle seal needs to be replaced? Are you leaking again?
I probably should have replaced the shaft. I’m about 1,000 miles in after this repair and no leaking. There were some markings on the axle where the seal went bad but the aftermarket seal I used seats in a different spot. Fingers crossed I don’t have to do this again.
I replaced my front cv axle and wheel hubs due to a humming noise but the noise never went away, i started noticing my driver side inner cv axle has lots of play. Do you think it might be my inner shaft seal ?

Anybody kno why my 2016 sierra shakes at higways speeds and sways nd feels a bit bouncy at really low speeds like 10mph? Balance and alignment didnt help.
Tires are probably cupped. Might be warped rotor as well.

I believe the manufacturers are doing this shit on purpose so we can by electric vehicles. Everything fucking breaks on gas vehicles nowadays. My 93 Toyota Corolla will outrun my 2017 Silverado any day.
You lost me with your screw driver and hammer technique. Wonder why there was markings, probably from you hammering that flat head into the sealing area, yikes bro.
GM products are junk. Had to replace my axle seal at 43000. AC went out. The engine vibrants and transmission shifts hard. Will be buying a Ford next time

At least the GM products are EASILY REPAIRABLE, on the other hand I make a lot of money off ford owners.
