My favorite Beach on the entire Oregon coast! Bandon beach at sunset! Way to close out the video! Thanks for sharing! Hope you didn't forget to stop at Face Rock Creamery out there in Bandon! Very special treats the ice cream is incredible!
I've heard the summer is a cooler time to visit due to the onshore cloud and fog. During the hot summer, the land temps rise and the cool ocean air collides with it. I think I heard September is the warmest month on the coast as the and and sea are closer in temperature. You just never know, one April we were on the beach in shorts and temps on the mid-70s. Looks like we may get that again in a few days. Cheers! Ray
Nice! Kind of weird, but your footage of Sunset Bay State Park made it look really packed together - we stayed there last year and liked it - our neighbors to the East were a little close, but the ones to the West were far enough away. Our trailer is smaller - a 19' Rpod, so maybe it just felt that way! I did do a video on it - also, the beach was totally different - we must have been there on a low tide - really cool little pools our dog sat it and old tree stumps - cool place! Enjoyed this - thank you!
Yeah, things get a lot tighter when you are 45 feet long hooked up and near 13 feet tall. ;) and I'm on the smallish side for a fifth wheel. Compared to many other OR state parks it's tight and many of the back-ins are at weird angles with not much space across the road to maneuver in and the trees stick out close to the roadway. Cheers, Ray
I am a local to this area and it seems you did a good job of hitting the prime day trips. Shore Acres is a wonderful sight if you can make it back with a dog sitter.
Ray beautiful video, very informative and just great views. Yup that park would need Houdini behind the wheel to into some of those spots. I kind of liked the wind noise, it adds to what it was like where you are standing. Thanks again.
Thanks. I use a pair of older Sony's - www.loveyourrv.com/love-your-rv-photo-and-video-creation-tools They have been reliable even though I'm fairly rough on equipment. Will be replacing soon with newer units but will likely stick with the Sony brand. Cheers, Ray
Never used to but now they have a stupid system run by Reserve America making first come first serve sites in many of the parks only good for 1 day. Seems like a way to get the extra 8 dollars reservation fee, though if you hang around and find a ranger you can reserve at the park and save the money, but not always convenient. Cheers, Ray
Hi Ray. I noticed comments about wind noise and the use of a built-in stereo mic on your camera. I'd like to offer an inexpensive solution. You can use double sided tape and fake fur to create a custom windscreen. I'm not sure of the configuration for your camera, but video 45FX8lWLeiA is a good example of how to cover the mics on a flat surface.
I've tried it in the past. Never could get it to work any better.. My mics are built in the plastic on the front of the camcorder under the lens. I think maybe the wind also comes in through the lens opening and gets to the mics.
What camcorder are you using? It has a really nice optical zoom. If there is sufficient clearance, perhaps add a small piece of foam tape under the plastic cover, with holes directly over the mics. That should hopefully stop wind from any direction other than directly in front.
Sony CX190. It's a number of years old now. Has been a tough little unit. :) www.amazon.com/Sony-HDR-CX190-Definition-Handycam-Camcorder/dp/B006K551HQ I'll be upgrading it soon to a new 4K model with a hot shoe for a proper mic.
I have a few editing programs. For quick edits, I've been using PhotoShop Express - www.photoshop.com/products/photoshopexpress I have a 17" touchscreen Dell laptop running Windows 10 and it runs as an app. For more in-depth editing I use Capture One www.phaseone.com/en/Download.aspx They have a free version for Sony camera users. I also have Corel Paintshop Pro a companion photo editor program to my Corel VideoStudio I use for video editing. For super quick viewing, resizing and batch conversion stuff I like IrfanView - www.irfanview.com/ Cheers, Ray
Ray, how do you know when plotting out a back roads trip that you won't run into a sharp turn that you can't make with your trailer? Have you ever been stuck on a road and have to back track out? Thanks for sharing.
I usually research a place using Google search to gather information and have a look at the satellite maps. If still in doubt I first take the truck only to scout it out. I once did have to back out a single lane road for 1.5 miles when we came upon a flooded section. Cheers, Ray

Nice! I live on the SW Oregon coast. You did a good job showing the area.
Yes, it's pronounced "air a go". Some of our finest coast line, and off the beaten path of 101.
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Awesome, as usual. Safe travels and I hope Anne has a good trip.
Love those pictures today and the falls was so beautiful. Have a great day tomorrow. Carolyn & Colin Hogarth
Oy, that campground is tight!
Beautiful tour and photos Ray! Thanks for bringing us along. That park did look pretty tight to get in and out of.

Last time we were up there in that area, we froze! Middle of July to boot! Brrrrr!

Shore Acres is awesome, at Christmas they do lights that make the park a delight at night.
That would be cool to see.
Great video, thanks for sharing
Beautiful place! Thanks for the tour!🌷🚍
Looks great on my 65” tv
Cool! Wait till I upgrade to a 4k camcorder. :) Cheers! Ray
It seams ridiculous to say what you KNOW already Ray; Beautiful!

Beautiful still footage and I love the sealions
I am really enjoying this journey up the Oregon Coast! It is so beautiful! I am learning quite a but as well!

Really nice to see that detail Ray. Appreciate you work..

Thank you. Yeah, the wind was really howling out on the cape! :)
Great shots, such beautiful blues and greens in the water... very cool to see the sea lions.
Fabulous footage! I need to be out there.
Fantastic video and photos Ray! You are making me so antsy to get out there to explore the Oregon coastline!
I swear I can hear them. Great video as always Ray.
Yeah, they make quite the racket. :)
At Sunset Beach, go to the far right to explore tide pools during low tide. Watch the tide so it doesn't catch you.
Cool, thanks. :)
Wow so beautiful Ray you do such a good job of making these videos Sweet and cheers
Amazing as always Ray.
It always amazes me your camera can zoom out so far and when you zoom back in you see how far your shot was.
Yes, it has a 30 times optical zoom. Amazing for such a small camcorder.
Have you ever done any claiming on the OR or WA coast for razor clams or others? I hear they are very tasty if you like shellfish.
No, we haven't, not knowing what we are doing we have a fear of getting sick.
Hey Ray, love your videos. Just wanted to know what camera do you use for your videos?
Thanks. I use a pair of older Sony's - www.loveyourrv.com/love-your-rv-photo-and-video-creation-tools They have been reliable even though I'm fairly rough on equipment. Will be replacing soon with newer units but will likely stick with the Sony brand. Cheers, Ray
Ray, you made some photos that would look great on a wall, :)... Good you are enjoying state camps!
Thanks. :)
Great video Ray! We will be heading that way in the fall. Have you had to reserve spots in your current and previous stays in Oregon SPs?
Never used to but now they have a stupid system run by Reserve America making first come first serve sites in many of the parks only good for 1 day. Great as usual.

Nice stills...what kind of camera is your wife using??
Thanks. She is using a Sony A6300. The pictures in the video are from my Sony NEX5-R.
Nice editing of the still shots. What editing program do you use?

Need to get a deadcat wind muff for your audio....the sun actually does come out in Oregon and Washington once and awhile I see.....
I will when I upgrade my camcorder to one that has an external mic. Thanks

suggest acquiring a 'wind muff' for your microphone
