- Jennifer Hudson sings "Nessun Dorma", live, in full Italian for Dolce & Gabana's 2021 Alta Moda Show at the Piazza San Marco Venezia in Venice, Italy. Honouring the late Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin and her last-minute performance of "Nessun Dorma" at the 1998 Grammys, when Luciano Pavarotti was unable to attend.
Hudson recently played Aretha in the hit movie and soundtrack, Respect.
Mannn, I arrived in Venice that evening!! If I would have know this goddess was performing I would have hopped an earlier flight!!

Wow wow wow! She looks absolutely beautiful. I always preferred her singing this with just piano cause it reminds me of when choirs like the fisk jubilee singers performed a capella or just piano. The piano gave it a nice touch to Jennifer's soulful voice. Beautiful, bravo!

As an opera fan, a few comments - the key is wayyy too high for her voice; the enunciation needs to be clearer and the sound rounder. I prefer it over Aretha’s version though.

@@Slaychelle She was getting shrill on the top and by the first half she was already spreading her vowels too much because of the height. Plus this is supposed to be a full voiced aria so it’s better done in midrange in fuller chest, like how Cynthia Erivo sang it.
She’s a high soprano that literally makes zero sense, it would only be too high if she couldn’t sing the notes. I really detest when people do that. This is an interpretation of an aria by a non-opera vocalist 🙄.
@@ladysasha90 Um. Go watch other clips of her singing this and tell me she is not struggling on high notes... I love Jennifer Hudson but this key is too high. The key she sang this in is VERY high for full voice. Even for a high soprano such as herself. Would’ve been better if it was topping at D5 or so.
@@KajiVocals I’ve seen her sing this song three times, the CNN was bad but I don’t see her struggling because the note is too especially when she regularly belts out Bb5’s, but rather her having a bad day. Some days it takes a lot for me to sing a C5 other days I can belt out G5’s like it’s nothing.

I give her tremendous respect for even attempting to sing this, nevermind under such. . absurd circumstances in hurricane force winds,talk about your voice is blowing in the wind,she had all she could do to keep her dress from ejecting her from the mess she was standing on.Whos call was that ,because she did remarkable considering the windy conditions .
So much blingbling and rich people around this, but to stingy to offer one of the best singers the best stage. No technology for sound performance (wind noise does not have to be) and filmed with a cell phone camera? - do you think JHud didn't notice that? I am ashamed of you. 👎
