I never knew Evel jumped cars in the Spectrum. I was 9 years old in 71' and could actually see the very top of the Spectrum from our third floor window on 63rd and Dicks Avenue, next door to the Gulf gas station on the corner. My friends and I jumped many plywood ramps in my front yard grass back then.
I was six then and my parents let me paint an Evel jumping 8 cars on my bed room wall. Shortly after my older sister's bicycles mysteriously started coming up broken!😏👍
I've ridden motorcycles my whole life. It takes ability to ride on the narrow approach ramp coming down through the seating area. And as someone else mentioned in the comments, all in a small venue.
i think people dont understand how difficult that thes smalll venues were to jump in, starting on a down hill is much more difficult to judge, he was famous for not using a speedo, he made it look effort less here. dont be fooled it was just as difficult to not over jump the landing ramp here.
I'm making a series of one minute videos ("Evel Minutes") to document Evel's various jumps here on UA-cam, would it be possible to use your footage for the Spectrum video? You'll get full credit as the owner of the film.
Evel lives on in all of us 70 kids. A legend….
Yea Buddy 🦾

Man, what a time to be a kid. Great stuff
Kids today will never know these times.
@@cartrack730 it's the parents fault when he gives the kids a Smartphone and no attention or valuable time.
A true legend.
So cool to see a Knievel jump I've never seen before!
Thanks so much for sharing this!
I lost in when I got my Evil Knievel Stunt Cycle for Christmas.

not to mention he is riding a beast of a bike... compared to the lightweight motocross bikes used for jumping now, his jumps are even more impressive.
I was there that night and again the following night when he jumped a few more cars.
I was 4 months old. I feel old lol!
Nice camera work
the evolution of bikes.
Perfect
always the showman
True Legend.
9 cars is a practice jump for him. Lol
Dig those groovy new Chevy Vegas!
Public Address Announcer - Ladies and Gentlemen. Evel has left the building.
Those ramps were so narrow little room for error. The guy was brave. Stock bikes.
Mostly Sportsters I can’t tell if this is a Sportster or not. Kinda looks like one
All the riders judged their mettle to Evel Knievel
he made those bikes look small..

The tight quarters is what makes this jump so tough.
Perfectly executed.....landing smack on the “X”.
holy fuk!!!
