    IM GLAD TO SEE THIS OM YOU TUNE
    I WAS THERE IM PERSON .I WAS 15, 63 NOW. I GOT MY FIRST MOTORCYCLE WHEN I WAS IN 14. My sisters would tell my mom if they saw me doing wheelies, which I wasn't allowed to. I didn't care what mama didn't allow I rode those wheelies any how. My Aunt and uncle took me to see him . That was the last time he jumped before the Snake Canyon Jump. It was Awesome. And I got even with my sisters.

      I was right there with you. Did you happen to see the guy jump around on a go-kart at the Tulsa speedway he came up short and hit the cross bars made out of wood and then the guy lived he only got a broken thumb out of it I forget what his name was. I think it was sleeping Larry or something like that.

    THANK YOU MIKE FOR PUTTING THIS ON UA-cam. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I GOT TO SEE THIS JUMP. FIRST TIME WAS IN PERSON. HE WAS MY HERO BECAUSE I WAS DOING WHEELIES AND LATER GOIMG AIRBORNE. OH WHAT A FEELING. I AM MAKING THIS SECOND COMMENT BECAUSE AT THE TIME OF THE TILSA JUMP I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE THE LAST JUMP BEFORE THE SNAKE CANYON JUMP. AFTER SEEING A VIDEO OF HIS HISTORY OF HIS LIFE AND JUMPS I LEARNED THAT HE NEEDED MONEY BADLY. SO HE WENT TO TORONTO CANADA TO MAKE ONE LAST JUMP BEFORE THE SNAKE CANYON JUMP. I JUST WANTED TO MAKE CLARITY OF MY FIRST COMMENT. CARL S. BORN AND JUMPED IN TULSA, OKLAHOMA.

    I'm always amazed at the way he just jumps up onto the seat. He just hops right up there like it's nothing.

    I was 15 in October of 1973 when I saw Evel in person jump 13 cars at Kaukauna Wisconsin. My dad filmed it with a Super 8 home movie camera which looked very much like this home movie. I posted that jump here on UA-cam several years ago.

    One of the ironies about Evel is that if he was REALLY good at what he did we'd never have heard of him. That's why there are no famous jumpers in 2022.....they never crash, so nobody cares. If not for Caesar's Palace, Evel would have been a blip on the radar screen and that's all.

    I was ten; having moved to Tulsa one month previous. My father was an Army recruiter; I believe the armed services were a sponsor? Looks like a Torino driven by the Navy takes him down the track after the jump. I had received Evel’s stunt action cycle and truck Christmas of ‘73, so I was thrilled to see him live. The jump itself was unspectacular, but he was tge epitome of COOL.

      Parachute release on jump bike.

    • @carlstout9737
      @carlstout9737 3 роки тому

      That's right you needed the parachute just let him down when the landing ramp area was short and had to stop quickly great idea. Ironically is the parachute that stopped him from jumping Snake River. There was technical difficulty on the release of the parachute that was not his fault.

      @@carlstout9737 They had to pop that chute on takeoff at Snake River. The first 2 sky cycle tests landed in the river. If they haden't he woulda drowned.
