  • Its been a while since we've seen a Cadillac exclusive V8 but that's exactly what you'll find under the hood of the 2019 CT6 V-Sport. With 4.2L and two turbos nestled between its cylinder banks in a "hot vee" this new V8 makes up to 550 HP and 627 lb-ft of torque. All that power is managed with standard AWD and a new 10-speed transmission. It should be a lovely addition to the Cadillac family.

Especially the concepts: Ciel, Elmiraj, Escala.
Had they put them into very limited production no doubt they would be highly coveted and would reestablish Cadillac to its former glory and prestige alongside Maybach, Bentley, and Rolls-Royce.

Besides the the interior....I have a 2018 Cadillac ATS Turbo Luxury edition and the interior is way better. In fact i've found it almost impossible to beat...i've even looked into getting a new C8 but the inside is pretty ugly as well at least when compared to the ATS.... The only thing i've found that beats it is Cadillacs new Lyriq but that won't be released for a couple more years....

Cadillac is slowly getting there. Finally an engine worthy of the Germans, AWD is finally there and the looks are outstanding. This car can sit at the big boys table, great job for Caddy. Now, can you keep this up and keep pushing the envelope?

The current Cadillac CTS V is amazing car, even if you don't race. I have a 2017 model. Handling is superb--cornering feels like the car is rotating around it's center rather than turning. And the ride is very compliant, especially if you have the suspension set for touring with sport mode for the acceleration/gearing and steering, which makes it more comfortable around town. When I was young I had a Lotus Elan S4, a unique car in which you could feel everything on the road but the ride was soft. And weighing only 1420 pounds it didn't need power steering, of course, only rack and pinion. There are a few issues I've had with the CTS V, mainly electrical--certain things like lane departure warning and heated driver seats would turn on by themselves sometimes. Twice the transmission disengaged while in drive after coming to a stop, like it was in neutral, and only re-engaged after turning the car off and letting it sit for 15 minutes. Fortunately that's only happened twice and not for a while--the dealer doesn't know what caused it, I suspect it might be related to the electrical problems, perhaps something with the transmission wiring harness, but I don't really know that they have looked at that even though I asked them to recently. The touch screen went bad after about a year and was replaced under warranty. A lot of these cars had a problem with the torque converter causing a vibration during a steady speed between 30 and 60 mph, and that was fixed by flushing the factory transmission fluid three times in a certain prescribed way and replacing it with Mobil 1 synthetic--their own transmission fluid wasn't gripping the torque converter properly, go figure. And after reprogramming the transmission when I first took it in for servicing, the transmission worked fine, no longer up and down shifting irregularly. One other issue that bothers me now is the Recaro seat lumbar bolster will not stay completely deflated as I like it when re-entering the car after it sits for a while or a day; it will partially re-inflate, necessitating reaching down the side of the seat to the control lever to deflate it again--I hope this gets fixed, but won't hold my breath--I wonder if it's related to automatic seat positions going back and forth pumping air into the bolster somehow. More recently, sometimes a Bluetooth paired iPhone won't disconnect from the CUE System after a call is ended, even after the car has been turned off and re-entered later. This seems to be intermittent so far, but I have to open the phone manually, start a call and then cancel, to clear it.

It’s nice to see Cadillac come out with another large V8 powered sedan. When Cadillac ceased production of the DTS to usher in the new XTS, I was a little disappointed to see that Cadillac didn’t put a V8 in that car. I am such a huge fan of Cadillac as my family supports American made luxury! My mom has a 2015 Cadillac ATS Luxury, my dad has a 2012 Cadillac CTS-V, and my grandma and grandpa both share a 2011 blue Cadillac DTS with Northstar L37 V8. I sure hope the spirit of the large V8 family sedan lived on in the new CT6 V-Sport.

I didn't like how big the XTS VSport was but it had over 400hp/tq, AWD and drove nicely. I just love love my CTS VSport. Oh and BTW this CT6 VSport is now the CT6 V.

E63 AMG competitor from GM? I think this car has potential. The CTS-V for the time it was new was not that bad for a "luxury sports sedan" with the LS6 and a 6 speed. Cadillac is definitely learning and stepping up their game so that the car might actually be worth the asking price.

As a former owner of a CTS costing $70,000, it was truly a special car. It broke down over 3 years only 24 times. My neighbor beat me with his Escalade. His vehicle was in the shop 52 times!
Cadillac told me that the average age of there car buyers is 63. So they keep building vehicles that are unrelable and expensive! A loaded CT6 (that I drove) cost ONLY $88,000. Not too many are going to afford this new model shown in this video.

Aluminum hoods don't just drop off the supports like the steel hoods. They take a little effort as I have had them not close when being gentle.

If I can only say one good thing about chevy/caddy is that they know how to get a hell of a lot if power from a boosted engine STOCK!💯😲

Autopia Alana Lewis ...so can any European manufacturer, Lotus can get the same power from a 2litre 4 cyclinder engine 25years ago in England, what planet are you from?

HOT!!! I wonder if it has the rear wheel steer? I hope they will put the amber turn signal on in the production. A little disappointing that it still does not have a middle rear seat head rest for the rear middle passenger. I hope they will put that on.

FINALLY!!!! Cadillac gets back In the game with a Caddy exclusive V8. The parts sharing and flagship models with a Chevy Cobalt SS turbo 4 nearly ruined Cadillac IMO

Probably never happen, but I would love to see some kind of anniversary edition CT6 or the new Escala come out with an optional Cadillac exclusive V12. They made an excellent one back in the ‘30s.

The ironic thing is my last car was a cobalt SS. Man those transmissions in those cars are bullet proof and the engine can withstand 700 HP in bolt on upgrades if humanly possible. Now i own a Cadillac ATS turbo Luxury edition and the two cars are nigh and day different. lol.

@@brianb.1883 Cadillac has already announced it will be releasing ONLY EV vehicles from 2023 moving forward.... Gas is almost 7 dollars here in Northern Cali where i live....the last thing anyone wants is a V12. Go get the new Mercedes sl65. I hate Mercedes but they did an amazing job on the interior. Kinda like the 2018 Cadillac ATS which i think by far still has the best interior of ANY car.....that is until the Cadillac Lyriq is released....

Cadillac is doing an amazing job with its engineering, styling, and offerings. It's not doing a great job with marketing. Why don't more people take a look at this? Such an amazing car.
