When I bought this guard for my 2019 KTM 300 XCW TPI it didn't come with the tap or bolts. When I asked BPD they said it was needed. When I bought one (from Beta) it came with the tap and bolts. This time when I asked BPD they said didn't need to install the bolts.
Attaching the guard to the frame makes it more stable against side impacts in the chainguide. There is another brand from spain that does this guards, but without the swingarm attachment. IMO this is far far superior.
Yea, I used to find a lot of "bling" parts to be cool but I see the factory teams take little influence and I realize how tacky plastering a bike in anodized parts can be, especially when it wears away.
Good product, Good video. Thank you.

3/16 for drill size. Tap is m6x1.0 thread
Not sure if I overlooked it, but what is the reasoning for drilling the 2 holes compared to not drilling them?
They give you a 6mm tap to put in two bolts to give it more strength --

How do u know Jeremy "twitch"?
would this not put a weak spot on the swing arm
No, because the holes we make are filled in with bolts, plus two tiny holes in the swing arm would not affect it regardless.
I feel like a part like that should not be anodized for after a few rides it will look like hell
They do offer it in just silver and yes you care correct those and the shark fin disc guards can get pretty beat up.
