I still play, and am in fact playing as I watch this video! I'd love a remaster on modern hardware. NT was a slap in the face after how good we had it with Duodecim.
I legit still play 012 till this day. I emulate it on steamdeck now because my psp crapped out, but it was easy to transfer my data. One of my all time favs
Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy was my favorite PSP game! I played against friends in college a lot, and got my nephew into the game too. Really wish we could get a PC port instead of just NT. It plays so different.
Dissidia were fantastic games. I'm super late to finally collecting and playing them, but thoroughly enjoying them. A Dissidia 4 would be great, but I also wouldn't mind a Soul Calibur style 3D fighter or even a 2D ArcSys style fighter.
Fun fact: Dissidia originally was going to be a Kingdom Hearts fighter, but Disney didn't want their characters to fight, so SE decided to scrap that and make it using their own Final Fantasy series
This brings me back to so many memories, i remember to actually trying the first dissidia and loving it, and the hype when duodecim finally comes out, unmatched i say
NT was a freaking sequel, of course it was different. If you guys wanted a remaster instead of a sequel, than why would NT exist, if you guys didn’t want a sequel?
@@oraclecloud5261 No one asked for a remaster. You guys wanted a sequel to Dissidia, but when you did, you guys felt disappointed by how NT felt different that you wished it's like the original.
@@egateqa1351 Bro? Do you not remember the onslaught of people complaining about the 3v3 before the game even came out? You’re either new here or delulu
Woah! Niosai; I'm a fan of your work! It's an honor 😳 keep up the awesome work 😃 Also; yeah 😓 double edged sword. It's tough whenever an inspiration hits but the analytics pushes you to not follow through. The struggles of every youtubers 🥲
This game on a modern console would be cool. I wouldn't care too much for netcode because I've seen how this game is played competitively. Because of how busted assists are players tend to focus on building that before engaging the opponent. There's also the fact that a lot of attacks have a long startup time but let you dodge almost immediately after. So what you often see are the players whiffing and dodging constantly. Kinda boring honestly. I would just stick to the campaign and arcade mode lol
7:28 Dissidia 012 is my favorite psp game by a long shot, a current-gen version (even just an upscaled port) would be a godsend, hopefully with a robust multiplayer mode. I still play it from time to time on my modded switch.
All Tekken needs to do is bring back Scenario Campaign/Tekken Force, but make the controls actually competent. Attack in all directions, but press a button to lock on and off. I was pissed they fucked it up, because it had potential in Tekken 6. I think an RPG element to fighting games can work, but it does have to be balanced somehow Soul Calibur [I think 3] did something similar, but wasn't balanced when fighting the AI.
For me personally: bad netcode + lack of single player content + each character kit gets dumbed down alot because of the teamplay aspect. 3v3 = less actions per person
Definitely not a fighting game. Just straight up an action RPG tbh. Other than it being 1v1 (sorta) and a KO announcement (kinda), what else would make it a fighting game? Nada. I remember being really into the first game and then the second as they released, and was involved as much as I could be in it's competitive scene. And hoooboy, trust me, it wasn't just the equipment, accessories, etc that made the game a broken unbalanced mess, even when having rule sets of no gear, accessories, etc. Tier lists for the meta of the game were a lot more literal, and not "skill dependent" as much as other PvP titles at the time, because some mechanics (assist, guard and certain characters) were straight up broken, while a large chunk of the roster, were useless in competitive due to their mechanics. Guarding was so OP due to it's extremely long stuns and highly telegraphed attacks. This made characters with a strong Brave attack focus and bad HP attacks almost unusable. Characters like Cloud of Darkness, Terra, Squall and Garland who were all about dumping large amounts of brave damage and then sweeping up with a one shot kill almost entirely useless, because all of their attacks would either be reflected back (Terra) or they'd have to eat a long stun. Meanwhile other characters who had nearly instant start times of their brave attacks with branching HP follow ups tore up the meta. The only two exceptions to that were the two most broken characters in the game. Exdeath, who could guard/counter literally every attack in the game. He only had one hard counter in the game, and it was the one character that was so broken that I'm still baffled all these years later that playtesters thought her mechanics/movepool was okay; Ultimecia, who basically ignored the entire guard mechanic because either her attacks pierced guard, or would pelt the enemy with enough attacks that even if they guarded the first hit or two, they would be slammed with the others due to the short cooldown on guarding. So honestly, Dissidia was not a good pvp game, at all. The game was designed with it being a single player action rpg at it's heart. That said, I sound like I'm being harsh on the game, but I did truly love it and still follow the series to this day.
It is certainly not a fighting game in the traditional sense. It is a 3D arena fighter at heart where stats can be equalized and there is active real time player vs player fighting.

Dissidia PSP was so imbalanced that it added to the overall appeal and it made it very campy. Ughhh I miss it so much
what so wrong about NT is its sound theme like chinese anthem borowed from dinasty warrior or something cheap

Game balance is overrated. Just because it's not balanced doesn't mean it's a bad Fighting Game.
It’s a fighting game. It falls under the 3D arena category.
By that logic smash isn’t a fighting game, either i guess
