I do a book version of the temperature blanket. For every book i read, i crochet a square that symbolizes it. Sometimes it's inspired by the cover, sometimes by something from inside of the book. At the end of the year i crochet it all together in chronological order and have a blanket of all the books i read!

While watching today, I’m working on a baby book of textures- each page is a 8x8” swatch of a textured stitch. Today’s pages were shell stitch and crab stitch :)

I’m more of a knitter than a crocheter, so I knit when watching my regular UA-cam videos as I can do plain knitting without looking. I’m currently using a row counter from Twice Sheared Sheep and it’s made a huge difference! No stopping to pick up a pen to count rows or losing the paper my counts are on. Game changer.

@@EliseRoseCrochet I purchased a Frog and Toad compilation book on Amazon for about $10 about 6 months ago after seeing and purchasing the pattern. I thought that that would make a great gift set. I have been moving, so this has been on a back burner. Frog and Toad were favorites of my children when they were small. My youngest is 34, and has a room with a wall full of books. We read every night when they were little, and I think books are a wonderful gift for new parents!

What a great video. I've made two sets of the Frog and Toad in knitting - they benefit being made from some seriously good DK yarn (and ground coconut shell for the filling), but the gorgeous Shetland yarn for the clothes is absolutely required. I must try the crochet version one day. Oh, and that shark bookend is absolutely brilliant - I'm getting my hook out for that.
It's one of my favorite patterns ever!!! 🐸🐸 I used Berroco Vintage for mine and I stuffed them with poly pellets so that they feel like bean bags!! 🧶📚❤️

I am definitely going to make one of those book sleeves. By the way, have you ever thought of having a few friends or relatives each picking you out one spool of yarn and then you making something small like a granny square with each spool of yarn they pick out for you, and at the end rating witch yarn worked out the best and had the best stitch definition? If you haven't already, you should read the murder mystery books by Rita Mae Brown with Mrs. Murphy. Great cozy mysteries with animals that solve mysteries and have to help the humans solve the mystery. The cats as well as the other animals talk but the humans don't understand them. Still, somehow they communicate.
