☆ The final boss fight and ending to Judgment with English subtitles and Japanese audio with no commentary on PS4 Pro. From Sega and the Yakuza series creators, the game is titled Judge Eyes in Japan.

When Kuroiwa said "So thats why..." it implies that he wasn't sure why Shono was ordering him to gouge the victims eyes, but he was like "welp, thats the job, eye plucking it is"
He didn't gouge out the eyes of anyone except Shintani, who was murdered because he investigated the ADDC rather than being a test subject. Because Shintani's eyes were just normal, Kuroiwa didn't understand why the test subjects kept getting their eyes gouged.
It wasn't until he saw the effects of AD-9 for himself, the blue eyes, that he understood why Shono removed the eyes.
@@DarkkirbyKRPG Yeah your kinda right. He knew about the eye gouging (as a cop dealing with them, and on the news) and he even did it once himself but didn't understand the need. After seeing the blue eyes of Shono, he understood that it was to make all murders alike, otherwise detectives will check why were his eyes spared unlike the rest.
Fun theory I red later is about Waku, the first patient Shono killed (The old guy).
His eyes weren't removed, but since he was buried in such a rush, he body has severily deteriorated and his eyes were probably gone by then.

@@DarkkirbyKRPGit’s funny how nobody ever talks about this but Yagami made The Mole title because the killer kept digging peoples eyes out, creating a much bigger hole of murders. In reality, the Mole the entire time was actually Shono, the guy removing the victims eyes and not Kuroiwa, the guy who was dropping these corpses who didn’t even harm these guys one bit. Literally nobody in the fandom talks about this and it slightly irks me lol. Fantastic writing.

Throughout the game I disliked Shono because he was pretty much a coward who's hiding behind an "ends justifies the means" reason for all the murders he did. But in the end, I can't help but feel sorry for the guy, for all the criminal acts and all the sins he did, all so he could save other people from what his family suffered, it just ends in a stunning failure and he most likely realized that as AD-9 eats him away.
Though I guess brutally dying the same way your patients did, by your own hands, no less, is pretty much a karmic justice.

I love the series well enough, I don't think I need to constantly spout beaten to death JoJo memes or references just to prove to people how much I love the series.
And yes, I have been keeping up with Part 8, I never really stopped.

It's like Morita, I hated him but when you learn his past...the same goes for Hamura, all he did was for the Matsugane Family but he was extreme...at least Hamura redeems himself in the end...Great game
Yeah, except kuroiwa. Most antagonist in this series, have their ironic reason. Shono and morita because family death, hamura because want to help his clan family, kido because didn't have any choice.
This game was so fuckin good. Expected nothing less of Sega and Ryu ga Gotoku Studio.

You don't want to fuck around with a man who can manage to beat a man to death in *Kamurocho,* of all places, where people regularly survive getting tossed off buildings and through plate glass.

Like,I seen many deaths in their past games but this one just hit different...

90bhours of gameplay and im still playing.Altrough i prefered Yakuza 6 in terms of gameplay(slightly)This game has one of the best storylines.Ever.

PS: It's just me or Kuroiwa was easier than Koga ? Kuroiwa's death was satisfying in my opinion

Koga is only difficult because of how guns work with the mortal wound system. Any character who fights with guns from the entire series would be mad annoying to find with the mortal wound system.
This just made me think about how terrible the Kiwami 1 Arase fight would be with the mortal wound feature

Koga's moveset is from Yakuza 3 and is much more manageable in that game since bullets track less and Kiryu doesn't keel over whenever his shoulder gets grazed

This game easily became my second favourite RGG studios game behind the original Yakuza 2, that plot was just too well done, every plot twist up until the final 2 chapters were predictable if you were paying attention to the plot, which I really liked; if you were thinking, you'd predict what's going on. But the curve balls of Sugiura being Emi's brother and this blue eye reveal had me going fuckin' wild, I couldn't have predicted that whatsoever, and the fact they held onto the blue eye reveal until the very last cutscene was 10/10. Was an amazing twist, and I know when I eventually replay or whatever, I'm gonna try see how much foreshadowing there is to these two twists, cause I was completely dumbfounded by these two twists and honestly, it made me so happy, it wasn't a stupid plot twist like fucking rubber bullets. Or one where they just go "oh that dude you know? actually a bad guy secretly"

Tengu Ryu the makers of these yakuza games have a weird habit of making otherwise regular 9-5-ers into martial arts masters (akiyama for one). I was actually surprised they took the time to explain how yagami knew kung fu in the story instead of just being like here's a lawyer that inexplicably knows tiger style kung fu
he was a professionnal assassin he learn these moves over the year like Yagami.
Police know martial arts and Kuroiwa was said to be the star of the entire police force.
They did explain this issue, Kuroiwa was taught everything (especially his moves) by his deceased mentor/master, all other training and learning is from the police force.
Yeah and Kuroiwas master was corrupt too. It'd make sense they'd both know how to fight in a brutal manner given their ties to the Yakuza

I love how all throughout the game, Shono looks like the meekest man alive on the planet. Like, whenever you run into him, he looks like he's either super depressed, or like he's about to cry because his boss yelled at him.

kiryu has 2 problems : ages and motives. Yagami 's just 35 , when Kiryu is near 50 now. His strength and flexiblity are reduced. And Kiryu 's just really strong when anyone try to hurt his family or pick a fight with. Maybe Yagami still stand a chance with the martial arts. If Yagami fought Kiryu in Kiwami 2, he's fucked.

Lol. Hard to blame you for thinking this. Kimura's got a low, husky voice as well. If I didn't already know who he is and what he sounds like, I'd have thought the same as you. Really threw me for a loop when I heard the EN voice they selected for him. But after I got used to it, I think it also works. Gives Yagami a different vibe but it still works.
