Thank you so much for making these videos! I have been seriously considering moving to Malaysia with my family sometime this year. We are going to visit in September. Good luck for people if they can stay there :)
How was your experience with the universities there? Which did you attend? Thinking it may be a good experience for my children to study at undergraduate level there while myself and wife semi-retire there as a base in SEA
@@silversurfer6758 Engineering, Uni Malaya , education student life is good.. Depending on what is your expectations, living in Malaysia is wonderful, but opportunities are null for foreign students, for engineering students basically even mandatory internships . IT comSci students might get Jobs but odds are not getting one is higher becasue of immigration laws. In summary, education lifestyle is good , but you would get better opportunities if you choose another country, cause malaysia even public unis arent worth it anymore if you have expectations more than education.
@@ihsanas Thanks for your response. Are you saying that education is good, but prospects within Malaysia not good afterwards? I had noticed that some universities in Malaysia offer courses that 'twin' with other universities based in UK, Australia, USA; effectively gaining a qualification from the twin university while having the opportunity to live in Malaysia while studying. Employment could be sought in other countries after completion of studies? Do you have any thoughts on that approach? Thanks.
@@silversurfer6758 yes, there’s actually no prospective in Malaysia. Education is good in a sense that you get educated in top universities rank wise with reasonable amount of money. But nowadays it’s not that reasonable though in my opinion. I said before for engineering is null opportunity. For IT , yes little bit, for example i know one IT person who topped his interview in a MNC, and there were no competent local in that position, yet he got rejected 2time by local authorities and 1 time at immigration, his MNC company had to wait 8months and raise his salary to match Immigration requirements, which is quite high for Grad students. This could have been a month process in Europe. Later he left Malaysia because of this and now joined FANG.
To foreign sisters and brothers who choose Malaysia as second home. Welcome! I’m proud Malaysian resided in Malacca as well and working in KL. To stay peacefully in Malaysia..just avoid criticise anything on 3R (Religion, Race & Royal). Generally Malaysian very friendly and cordial particularly the Malays that represent 60% of Malaysia population. They don’t bother you much, very much will welcome you as family member and keep feeding you (because we are very proud of our food) unless you start to criticise Islam as the official religion of this country, special right reserve for the Malays and Bumiputra (indegenious people) and talking bad about Malay rulers I.e. the royal. Remember this tips…you will love Malaysia and Malaysian will love you.

You can also check Andrew Taylor video, an American retire who's currently live in Malaysia under Malaysia as 2nd Home program, he made a lot of videos on tips and also interviewing other foreign retirees currently in Malaysia.
That is correct. The DE Rantau visa is available for digital nomads and remote workers. It will let you stay for 12 months and can be extended for another 12 months. Will let you bring your spouse and children as well.
Great video, thank you. I'm British too, and looking to be based in Malaysia part of the year too. Has the mm2h gone live? I'm told the visa issuance process never got started after they made the big announcement about the 3 tiers. Would be great if you could shed more light on the current mm2h situation. Many thanks indeed 🙏
Rent in Malaysia quite expensive depends to the area you are willing to rent .. outskirt of Kuala Lumpur the price is sometimes cheap that is also depend to the area sometime it is consider posh because of the name of the locality .. rent is RM 1200 to RM 6000 ..
MM2H is a complicated mess right now. The tiering scheme you described is only part of the new requirements. The offshore income requirement has not been eliminated although many assume that it is. It would be inconceivable that the government would actually eliminate the offshore income requirement and admit people who have not shown that they are able to support themselves.

I think your visa information is incorrect. The Malaysia My Second Home Program is not taking applications currently. It has been suspended for some time. Only visa renewals are accepted.
Thank you for this video. My goal now as a 22 year old is to save enough money to get a visa in Malaysia. Hopefully the visa requirement and cost of living isn’t too bad in a decades time. Malaysia is my only hope in this global cost of living crisis.

What happens after the 5 year visa is up? I get it's renewable, but i guess the risk is that the Government could change the requirements like they did i think during covid? Meaning if you can't meet the new requirements you can't renew the visa
Who has over $100k usd bag just sitting around? The average Joe doesn’t. This is absolutely boggling to me because I am retired and meet the monthly income requirements for a family. I have 3 kids plus their father making it 5 of us, but I certainly don’t have 70,80 or 100k usd cash sitting around or I would have invested in land or property. This makes absolutely no sense to me.
Mash'Allah. Happy Ramadan to you and all sisters brothers watching it. May Allah ease the path of you all to make this world and later a heaven. Ameen.. May our brothers suffering in Palestine and all over the world may find peace soon insh'Allah.
In my view , you need approximately RM7000.00 per month to live in Malaysia. Groceries can set you back RM2,500.00 for a 4 member family. Rental is Rm1,500.00 in Subang Jaya. Car instalment can be RM800.00. Petrol RM150.00 per month. Utilities Electricity RM300.00 per month, Water RM20.00 . Internet RM150.00. Medical RM200.00 (provision) no hospitalization. Incidentals approximately RM1000.00 per month. Your job should pay you RM 8000.00 per month at least up to this point. This is normal lifestyle. I have not factored in education. Private education per child can be RM3000.00 per month in International Schools. With children dont ever think of coming if you are not earning RM15,000.00 per month at least net of tax. It is not all that rosy out here.
@SairaHayati Thank you for your videos. We are really keen on moving to malaysia, for the same reasons as you. Our only hold back is our youngest daugter is disabled. We live in the UK and the support here does seem amazing compared to other countries around the world. We wanted to ask if you would know what the support for individuals with disabilities be? Eg education, medical support etc. I would appreciate it if you are able to find out a little about moving to malaysia with a disabled child? Jzk
I'd be interested in your upcoming videos into specific areas: schooling, living costs etc. Also can you shed some light on any particular job search websites and guidance on going through the work visa process. If you know of anyone whose gone through the work visa process and can do a guest appearance that would be great. Thank you!
Me as a Malaysian will advice you to search for a job in jobseeker website. Honestly, the job that available for the foreigner mostly only in the management level. The nxt best option is if you open your own business and have a special contract with a local companies as a consultant or service provider.
Now that I think about it Maybe buying a farm so you can grow your own organic fruits and vegetables, perhaps have some bees for honey and chickens for eggs. Live nature, and eat Allah’s food and not manufactured food.
Amazing, great info, thanks a lot for sharing. Could you please do videos about school (English, or French) for kids, what type of schools (private, or gov) are there and how much they cost.
You are making much sense . Those in the UK , you can retire here in Malaysia . Malaysia is one of the cheapest country to live . The country is good for families..education is cheap and of good quality .. You can enjoy life , as it has everything here . Shopping malls , jungles , beaches , resorts , jungle tracking , islands . And a very very safe and peaceful country .

A Big Mac meal costs 16 Ringgit and a KFC snack plate costs 21Ringgit. If you grab coffee at Starbucks it would cost anything from 15 to 25 Ringgit just for the coffee. Good luck trying to live on the numbers she is putting out. I am living in Malaysia currently. Just my electricity bill is 800 Ringgit because we run 2 Aircons at night and 1 for 8 hours a day while working from home. My family of 3 lives comfortably on 8k Ringgit a month not including rent or mortgage. Our house is fully paid. But I pay property taxes of over 1K Ringgit per year.
@@danielokeeffe9370 we run a biz in Singapore so our income is over 15k USD per month. We also maintain a house in Singapore and are only here like 2 weeks a month. But I am merely commenting on the figures Saira is giving out. She is making it sound liks you can get by on 3k or so Ringgit.
You pay over RM1000 a year in property taxes and think that's bad. I'm in Australia and my property taxes are RM8,0000 or thereabouts annually. Malaysia is dirt cheap compared to Australia. We are being bludgeoned by tax in the west. Those costs I've quoted don't include income tax. CGT, stamp duty and GST.
@@lizzy9975 I think I need to clarify something. This is my second home. We are from Singapore. We run our own biz so we spend sometime in Malaysia, work from home. Our home in Singapore is a condo worth over 2million SGD( about Aussie 2.5million) we pay higher taxes for that one. We also pay very high stamp duty for each additional property we buy in Singapore. Over 20% for the second unit . I am not complaining about property or any tax in Malaysia or Singapore. Malaysia is dirt cheap compared to Australia and Australian property prices are dirt cheap compared to Singapore. Every country is different. My whole point in providing figures is to debunk the misleading picture provided in this video. Malaysia is cheap but it would be hard to live as cheaply as she says it is possible to.
@@lindc1070 Prices and the cost of living are out of control in Australia. That's what happens I guess when we keep voting in governments that want to tax us into oblivion and give it to the incompetent and lazy. We have an endless round of the government printing money. Good video! See in Morocco, the residency visas for a European/American costs £10 to apply and extremely easy! That's about 2yrs stay. And then you can renew for another 5yrs or 10yrs. So it's stressless.
Visa in Malaysia is free and 3 months is automatically given to most countries, but she's talking about residency - how to stay in Malaysia with no visa but as a resident.

Thank you for these videos. I’ve had a look into the mm2h and from my understanding you can only withdraw HALF of the deposit for the visa after one year for property purchases, healthcare etc. Does the rest then have to remain in the account. Dont forget to go Bazaar Ramadhan in your area, exclusively on Ramadhan season. There's lots of local cuisine which mostly rare and hard to find during normal time. Some or most are freshly prepared and hell cheap too (well at least compare to GBP currency) 😆
Happy Ramadan to you and your family. Take this opportunity to go to Bazaar Ramadan with a lot of food to explore...

Around October/November 2024 for a holiday. I am from Mancheser UK.@@akatsuki360
Love your videos. They are a breath of fresh air and get down to the facts. Please do one on bugs, mosquitoes (should residents take tablets). Health care costs would be useful as well 🙂

best visa to Malaysia is spouse visa haha :v i have studied in Malaysia 5yrs , the job market and immigration conditions doesn’t even allow ones to apply for jobs, even if employers wants you to hire , immigration have put ridiculous laws in place that makes employers job difficult to hire someone. Really loved Malaysia a lot, nature, people and, weather are so great like heaven. would be my dream come true if i could be in Malaysia rather than Germany where i am rn.
@@silversurfer6758 if your kids like engineering, they can take A level at German-Malaysian Institute.
Thank you 👍🏼Sir. This Rule applies everywhere in the world.
Hopefully you achieved the targetted and expected for your generation.. Good advice

Salaam sister, your videos are inspiring!
Amazing information thank you.
Tell us about retired couples who would like to move to Malaysia
Will upload soon
You can also check Andrew Taylor video, an American retire who's currently live in Malaysia under Malaysia as 2nd Home program, he made a lot of videos on tips and also interviewing other foreign retirees currently in Malaysia.
There's also a digital nomad visa called Rantau Visa if im not mistaken. Can check that out.
She us giving out incorrect info.
interesting , i was looking into Dubai but I dont want my children to be spoiled and it seems UAE encourages liberalism which i am trying to get away from in the USA . Barak allh feeky sister
thank you for the great vid and response
Buy in the uk, rent it out and use the rental income to rent in malaysia. UK is always. arock solid investment.
Mnsha allah brother enjoys your life
I think your visa information is incorrect. The Malaysia My Second Home Program is not taking applications currently. It has been suspended for some time. Only visa renewals are accepted.
Yes, it’s being improved! Currently on hold
Thank you for this video. My goal now as a 22 year old is to save enough money to get a visa in Malaysia. Hopefully the visa requirement and cost of living isn’t too bad in a decades time. Malaysia is my only hope in this global cost of living crisis.
Actually those who are inclined to digital lifestyle can opt for Digital Nomad Visa (De Rantau).
Alhamdulillah, Allah has written our rizq for us, so not to worry, insha Allah, Allah will make it possible. If it is blessed for us, then may Allah make it so! ameen
I think the comparison should also be based on earning vs expenses. If it is cheaper means the wages will be lower as well.
Hi, thank you for sharing your content. I’d love to learn more about schooling, childcare, a walk through day to day cost, the next steps after the 5 year visa expires, and all of it 😅 please. Really thank you for this ❤😊😊

Just been to Malaysia for a holiday honestly its such an amazing place.
Assalamu Alaykum, could you please do a video on international private english medium school fees in Malaysia.
Walaykumsalam yes inshallah!
@SairaHayati
Thank you for your videos.

I'm already planning to move to Malaysia or Indonesia. Thanks for useful information
@@norabd7447 many thanks for the candid advoce. Personally, I think I'm about 2/3 years off a management level role. So this is achievable, inshaAllah

Now that I think about it
Maybe buying a farm so you can grow your own organic fruits and vegetables, perhaps have some bees for honey and chickens for eggs.
Live nature, and eat Allah’s food and not manufactured food.

I'll be headed that way in November so looking forward to it. 🙂

You forgot one more,Digital Nomad Visa(De Rantau) for 2 years stayed
im hooked i cant stop watching your videos. i cant stop thinking about moving there
Mashaallah I have made hijrah to Malaysia from south africa with my kids...made a move and Allah guide us all in the right direction...

Love your video Saira...
Wish you all the best in Malaysia.....
Salaa aleikum sis, how's it going over there? 🩷
But I pay property taxes of over 1K Ringgit per year.
for a western person who is a professional this is very low income. business owners and IT professionals make way more than this typically.
Spending it. Unions insisting on ever higher wages and inflation that won't ease. So the cost of housing and food is through the roof.
But Malaysia changes visa requirements on a very regular basis such that u may qualify for mm2h in 1 year but may not qualify the next year.. people who want to live in Malaysia needs to take note
Useful, straight forward, clear information. Thank you 👍🙏

@@nutzhazel sorry I should have made it clear, visa is free in Morocco too, and if you do in and out you can automatically renew your visa in Morocco for years and years.... However, if you apply for residency it only costs £10 per application.

If you earn in Pound, you'll definitely consider Malaysia as very cheap. There're some tourists from UK who stay in Shangri-la Penang the whole summer (about 3 months) for many many years. For GBP50(RM300)/night they definitely could afford it.

Salaam sis, many thanks for video. Ive been trying to get out of the uk for a long time, but was undecided to which muslim country. Which area are you based? Also which website would you recommend for purchasing/viewing homes? Also please could you do a video talking about the Law (whether they are just), the healthcare system (is it free, is it good), schools are they good, the community, corruption if any? The problem with our home countrys such as Pakistan is that they fail in all these areas making it unviable. Jzk in advance 🙏
It might not be as much fun for locals who have a local income!
Thank you sister. Can you give us some info about school systems there for kids? Religions and other curriculum.
Thank you for these videos. I’ve had a look into the mm2h and from my understanding you can only withdraw HALF of the deposit for the visa after one year for property purchases, healthcare etc. Does the rest then have to remain in the account. Also I saw that when renewing after the 5 years (for the silver eg), you need to prove offshore income still of that 10k ringgit monthly. Am I misinformed because the above has put me off the move
Asalalamuaalaikum mother! Enjoy your stay in MALAYSIA GOD BLESS 👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤
