I agree. Everyone talks about the food in Spain, France and Italy, but they forget about Germany. Germany has always been known for good food. In fact, German food is the backbone of American cuisine.
I spent 2 1/2 yrs in West Germany now Germany in the service and the Nuremberg Christmas Market was heaven for that hungry G I. Thanks Germany and citizens
Stationed Rhein Main AB ‘86-‘93. I would have stayed but wall came down after we outlasted the commies. Food was fantastic. A couple years later, ‘95 I worked for a company servicing German marine automation systems and traveled to Hamburg every few years for new products training.
@ Thanks for your service . I was stationed there 1971-73 with VII Corps HHB Field Artillery 210th Group first at Ansbach then Herzo Base ( Herzogenaurach ) I loved going to Nuremberg every Christmas time for the Christmas Market and the food. Beer and Bratwurst OH MY !!!
I’m a Food vendor in America and I must say this is one of the best videos I have ever seen… the first 15 minutes I was captivated Great job, I liked and subscribed to this channel
I would get a group of us (6-7-8 friends) and one would buy one treat. Then we all would take a bite. All those dishes look so great that one person would be full after visiting 2 stalls. A little bite here,a little bite there and the evening would be perfect but to end the evening- beer hall of course. Missing Germany…
Gosh! This is a beautiful video thank you for showing. Lots of Christmas festive excitement happening in the markets. Beautiful Christmas lights in the trees , buildings beautifully decorated so magical , you people cooking are making me hungry looking at all that yummy German 🇩🇪 food Happy Christmas Germany 🇩🇪 🙏♥️👼🌟🎅🧑🏻🎄🤶🎄
Such beautiful lights everywhere!! And of course that food looks so tasty! I would love to try the potato pancakes. I visited Germany 50 years ago and the food was great. Bought a knockwurst from a street vendor and it was better and meatier tasting than any american hot dog. Even knockwurst i have had in the US didn't taste that good. We stayed with s german family and the mother cooked so many wonderful things.
As a western and Christian, I love Christmas Markets and I have visited many of them in different European countries. I love the food, the Christmas spirit and the cultural invironmet. However I would quention if it is the BEST food in Europe judging by the amount of sugar, fat and salt. Never the less, I would encorage people from all over the world to join us in the Christmas spirit and share the environment but be moderate in the food. We love you all.
Where was this filmed. It would be nice to know for those that might want to visit. I was in Germany in 1967-69 stationed in Neubroken. Just a few clicks form Bitburg Airbase. Loving time there.
3:21 Where did they get buns from? When I lived in Landstuhl in the early 90's all you could get was brochen. I even asked for a longer bun. NOPE. Brochen. Awesome food. Loved it! My favorite was jaeger schnitzel. Easiest to order anywhere. Always tasted fantastic!
I was stationed in W Germany for seven years in 80s with family and a couple years later I got job with company servicing German Automation systems so I go to Hamburg every few years for new products training. I absolutely love German food and especially the Fest Market food venders. Now that I will retire in a few years I think maybe I will not be going back. All the supposed German restaurants here in Houston sux. Except one which was traditional, no lederhosen or umpa bands just quite dinning with great food. Unfortunately business was slow and they closed. It’s sad the all glitz with crappy food are packed.

Hungarian, Romanian and Polish Christmas Markets are the best in Europe too along with German and Austrian and Swiss. These are the best in Europe indeed
from a polish perspective ALL in Poland is better of course, that's in your mind. I would call it 'even good' after havin' had food in Kraków and Wielkopolski area as well as Świnoujście.
I don't speak German ( but had a Mum, a MIL who did and have an OH that does and I did basic German in the first year of high school )........but if I was there, I would seek out a 'brot, bockwurst or bratwurst mit sauerkraut'......that much German I know. We had one ( with authentic sausage ) at the Salamanca markets in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia quite a few years ago and it was like no other 'hot dog' I have ever had. We can't get authentic hand crafted German snags here in the outback unless we know someone who is going down south on holidays or someone who lives in the big smoke who could buy, wrap, freeze and post them out, and the cost of getting them shipped out by the firm that makes them is waaaay to high. The logistics are ott, so I just watch these videos, dream and salivate😋😋😋🤣🤣🤣

In my opinion, Germany lacks salads and dishes with various fruits, as well as cakes. I live in Russia, Siberia, but for New Year I always buy a big cake with fruit filling😋😋😋😋, for example, kiwi….also on our table there are always "belyashi" (pies with minced beef or pork)😋😋😋😋
