@@MrPAULONEAL Depends on the model. The single axle version with the Air Lockers is decent off-road it you have something heavy mounted in the back, and they're great because literally everything uses the same motor oil for both lubrication and hydraulics (power steering pump included). The pneumatic winch never fails, and the bumper it's mounted to could take out a brick wall lol. But the LMTV has air suspension, central tire inflation, cab over design (way more maneuverable), better (and taller) tires, weighs a bit less, and has way more power (though the 5-ton can be had with a low range and a manual with a ridiculously low first gear). Going flat out in sand and dirt roads, LMTV rides surprisingly well for being a big vehicle with solid axles front and rear. Those axles also have better articulation and more travel; jumping an LMTV (within reason) feels like landing on a pillow (though the M-ATV is still the best big vehicle to catch air in that I've ever driven; independent suspension front and rear). The tire inflation system really comes in handy when going off-road with such a large vehicle. The LMTV will also fit down the same width trails as a HMMWV, but that lack of width (relative to it's height) makes off-camber situations a bit tricky, even with the engine being mounted lower and further back in the chassis; the 5-ton feels rock solid in comparison. The 5-ton is a great workhorse that's almost impossible to kill, but while it can go off-road, deep sand is about as extreme as I'd recommend. The Air Lockers are pretty much a requirement because the huge stack of leaf springs ensures minimal articulation, it rides like you're sitting on a cinder block tied to a pissed off bull, and anything with an incline will make it struggle. It'll get you to where you gotta go...eventually...is stupid easy to fix, and stupid fun to drive just because; but it sits between a fully up-armored HMMWV and the MRAP as the three worst military vehicles for going off-road. This is of course, my opinion; other's mileage may vary.
In the initial process of prutting chains on he forgot to explain you really want to control your wheel spin with loose chains especially start getting aggressive with the go pedal and you're likely to be changing a tire

I so want a ‘Mog…😎
You guys have the best job, I’m jealous!
In the initial process of prutting chains on he forgot to explain you really want to control your wheel spin with loose chains especially start getting aggressive with the go pedal and you're likely to be changing a tire
You need to try a new krx!! Went to Moab with my brothers and it is CRAZY what it can do!
Thank you for comparing apples to oranges. A vehicle you can live in verses a toy.
Next week drag race. Top fuel dragster verses a motorhome?
Don’t get me wrong I love this channel.
I was about to suggest "tool vs toy" as a title for the vid but you beat me to it XD
You can't use momentum to get through long stretches of snow, You just end up superstuck. When I traverse deep snow it's at slow speeds and I go as far as Jackson will take me.
You should try a set of super ATV assassinators or some silverback gorilla by high Lifter tires on your Maverick, they are mud tires but go through snow very well no chains needed they would have picked up speed going through that snow!
The 'mog did not need chains to get through there. Don't know why he bothered putting them on.
I mean, y'all are the experts, but I'm fairly certain that's not how snow chains work with the "flailing and flotation" thing ....
What kind of sxs trailer was that?
That trailer is so awesome.
Cool trail!!! Where is St John's trail??..Nice machines!!😃
It’s above Keystone, CO
@@TFLoffroad Thank you TFL!!!
In Germany it is said somethin like: If Unimog can't get you somewhere nothing else can.
Take a U.S surplus m35a2 up that hill make sure you use one with a winch.
It won’t make it that far
@@flight2k5 Yah, the Mog's superpowers come from the gearing and amazing transmission. Deuces are beasts but they're not Unimogs.
@@TheJohn8765 it comes from the entire set up. Then2.5 ton truck isn’t a beast. They are average off-road.
Agree, a M35 with super-single and chains...
@@michelt4390 still not on par with a unimog
Feel like the mog had kinda un fair advantage but oh wheel ;)
Next time try a Steward & Stephenson truck vs the Mog.
Wish i could go visit y'all up there, howdy from texas
UNIMOG
My dream machine
Even on my quad it floats over the snow. Like skipping over water keep the revs at max and it will float over 3 feet of snow. Thats chicken feed for my 650 two up and its stock tires
yall cranked up the audio now. After that whole toyota reveal audio event
Great video!
Sure looked to be fun Andre!!
I like that trailer, pretty slick.
