- Today we’ll be testing if a Mercedes Unimog can be used in day to day life.
Big thanks to @MrHewes for having me along and using his Unimog. Follow him if you like big engines.
Raiments Hardware jackets will be available from 22nd October onwards, click the link below!

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: Yes it is.
bit longer answer: hell yeah brother
In America
We had an old 60s unimog we used for forestry. We had a shutdown in Devon one morning in the 90s and parked up near an isolated bungalow. This old guy comes flying out, shouting "Unimog! Unimog!". We got chatting and it turned out he was German and worked in the mercedes factory in the same year building that same model. He'd moved over in the 80s and retired. Weird coincidence, but it was great to see him so happy to see a mog.
They are produced in wörth, rhineland-paletine ❤
oil for nothin, fuel for free
@@ProjectEurobeat i want my, i want my, i want my unimog
money for nothing, Unimog for free
Cuz chicks have cooties
Came here for the unimog, subscribed for the haircut.. 😊
Scotty is like Whistlindiesel 2 years ago, but in British
Underrated comment⬆️
Scott is authentic and more down to earth
@@Dmaoa W is destruction, this dude is him
also this guy is a massive pussy and only drives over stuff any normal small hyundai hatch could get over in a unimog and talks like its impressive
- What is the hardest terrain a Unimog can pass through?
- Yes!
I have always wanted a unimog to kit out as a camper , what a beautiful diesel maxhine
the way it slid out and missed the blanket but you didnt refilm. Unmatched continuity. 100/10 And knowingly calling a Vectra an Astra. 1000/10
The Mr Hewes colab goes hard
Literally the best "small" truck ever made
I busted out laughing out loud- when you chucked the bag in the back of the Mog, getting off your new Volvo - dang that - I really was laughing! Glad you did get hurt Scotty!
Have to admit: I've taken my Mog to Tesco a few times. You never have any trouble finding it in the car park when you come back out.
This is not a truck or a tractor it is both. Awesome!
"TRUCTOR"
Not even an question, perfect grocery getter
1:18 That speedo says you were doing about 85 KM/H, not mile. The Mogs I've seen here are usually out of gears by 80-100kmh, 100kmh with a custom final drive swap.
Usually 90 km/h is the maximum speed on any Unimog
it was a joke dude
Jackets being released on my birthday, how convenient!
I SEEN ONE of the freeway here in Australia. A fertiliser spreading contractor. They always have the 4x4 version of trucks and this was a fairly new unimog.
my god, I think I've found the most British channel on youtube. You must be the type of people the French hate the most, and I'm here for it.
It’s perfect for British roads-compact enough to navigate easily, with ride height and off-road-capable suspension that can handle the typical British potholes. Well, maybe not all of them, but most!
I like the way the only disaster was when he spilt some of his bear
That’s bad ass love the pto and 3pt hitch
2 pto`s, rear and front... plus the potential hydraulics outlets...
"Didn't hurt"
Stands like a used stork 6:01
Got metal rods in my back, can’t bend it no matter what 😎
@@scottyfairno ye that's what I said 🤫
@@scottyfairnowhy is that, if i may ask
@@flapperdeflap drove to much with new old ovlo I belief

Such an honour going to Ted's house and meeting his human.
I like the Unimog axle
Crossing the top of the wheel rather than the centre clever stuff
He's like the most East European british person
Finally the perfect commuter vehicle for where I live
Always fanced a Moggy, maybe a replacement for my LR
I dailied an older one years ago, 1969 4 cylinder diesel. It was ok, but a bit slow and the heater was crap. Police kept stopping me as well out of curiosity.
I love how he throws the carton of eggs into the back of the truck!
1:18 No it's not 80 mph. It's 80 km/h
Screw practicality. Pure awesomeness!!!
Scotty is Englands answer to evenflow 😂
this is the video I've been waiting for haha :)
it looks like that german shepard with no neck
The answer is yes and will always be yes
this is my favourite unimog year and spec :D
I enjoyed your video
Very aware and love the Unimog I see a Southern Electric truck cabover type changing Telegraph poles
I shouldn't have to tell you but red diesel is the same but not allowed on any highways
I watched the tank video before forget his name Bart he bought English tank but his inexperience lost him his tracks funny I Guess 👍
Starting up at 6.30 and waiting for the air brakes to get to pressure doesn’t go down too well with your neighbours. I know from experience.
"unimog is a practical daily car" you are crazy, I like You 😂😂😂😂😂❤
The collab I never knew I needed
Perfect review. All i need to know. Picknic possible. I get one.
Watched the vid now 5 or 10 times, still can't stop observing scotty trying not to laugh.
I think I change my opinion from Hanomag Robust 900 to same Unimog. It's much faster (80mph) and more universal. And you can get your fam for picnic
I've put a pair of u1700l axles on a u1300l, drove it around my city. Fun truck. Near Seattle washington. Usa West coast unimog dummy, right here.
I wish I ran on chip fat as well as you all do!
so practical
This made me want one
Please more longform content like this! Or even something like a monthly livestream here on YT. I dont care if you are just working on cars and smashing beers, im in! ❤
Drinking any beer (especially a Carlsberg) from a can that hasn't been divorced from the other 3 cans in the pack should be considered a hate crime.
i had a unimog U1500 for 20 years and transporting sugar beets, the trailor weighting 30tones and the unimog loaded 10-11tones
1000% bulletproof machine, but for daily shoping i dont now..
I love this
Earned a bloody sub!
Climbing off your Volvo, " Tis just a scratch"
Great vehicle dodgy hair😂
It doesn't say but it looks like the U1600 and its 80km/hr..... but he had it up to 85. Very nice vehicle.
...especially if your commute is across a mountain.
omg that is my dream. I have only small nissan Terrano, but Unimog or maybe small V3S damn that would be amazing
Scotty You Leg 🍗 End (Legend)
💪💪
I also like my eggs runny
1:44 were not gonna talk about this...
yes
SCOTTY UPLOADED A NEW VIDEO W
YES
In Germany Unimogs are expensive!
they're expensive in the UK too haha
Now i dont want to see how much they cost in poland

uniMOGger
4:42 Isn't that a Vectra?
so funny and unintended
This is a U406 my Favorite is the U5023 with the 5.1 litre Inline-4 16 Valve Turbodiesel 17:1 compression ratio 100 x 135mm 231 PS and 900 NM Euro 6 it has variable valve timing too 225000 € with 1836 kilometers 😱
Nice Picknick
Hey up mate you forgot to mention how good the working gears are in traffic jams apart from that i agree fully with Mog's as a daily
Never 80 mile/hour my dear scottyfairno. Just 80 kilometers/h or close to 50 miiles/hour. Unimogs are "metric" not imperial and if you go past the "50's" mark you overheat the engine, you mess with brakes, tires and all hell brakes loose. Not counting the fact that you are driving a agricultural tracktor truck, no neede for speed, Mogs take time, enjoy the ride🚜🚜🚜
The answer is obviously yes.
I like your style you mad bastard 😂😂 I have a rb44 turned into a camper.new sub 👊 OUT
no wonder it sounds so sharp when the exhaust pipe is connected almost in front of the muffler xD
Is that MrHewes by any chance 😂
In 2006 I wanted to buy a deuce and a half for driving to school. Same same, daily the birxh.
My ultimate dream is to drive a UNIMOG daily and go everywhere.
Wish these were common in north america
I’ve got one and I’m 16 use it as a daily drive
scotty has a house now he has upgraded
Boot space wouldn't be an issue.
My dad has a 2004 defender. Its a good car, except wind noise and terrible gearing (max speed at 130kmh with 160hp). I think uts like 90-100db at 100kmh 😅
Ngl I need one
3:45
Certified "Marcy! Make me another sandwich!" moment right there...
They should make a mini unimog haha
Why am i feeling i am watching Whistlin Diesel's british cousin.
The only thing I don't like about this video is the welding of the muffler.😂
What lifted truck drivers think they’re driving
I love SWB Unimogs 👍😜
How are those tractor tires road legal though ?
There's also no way they're rated for over 60mph !
And no front number plate?
Very practical
Whoever the owner is, those style of rear lights have 0 light output with a weak reflector behind it.(some models of this light have no reflector, only black plastic so you only have the light of the bulb itself), I wouldnt say its dangerous, i know its compliant but its shit. You can buy an actros rear light with 6 functions (6 slotted) which is period correct and oem+ and looks good. Imo
yes
how much did u ppay for that one looks awsome
its the European mullet for me
So in England eggs aren’t kept in the refrigerator?
I have always wanted to slam one of these on some nice rims .
THE FACT YOU STILL HAVENT HIT 100K IS BEYOND ME
Uni mog and a g wagon
