Great examples of using dig. One thing that I didn’t see you do is use the freewheeling position on the dig. It’s really useful too in certain instances when you don’t want to drive the rear wheels, but also don’t want to drag them. I fricken love my Capra. It constantly allows me to challenge myself with different lines I would even attempt with other trucks.
@@ExocagedRC You provided some great samples for using a DIG. Found freewheeling useful for sidehilling on a high traction surface with a rig that has a lot of overdrive (25-30+%). Allows the rear wheels to disconnect from the overdrive and better follow the fronts. Depends on the surface you are crawling on. I go back and forth on having my DIG units set up with 2-position or 3-position switching.
This was a terific use of dig. As a new rc guy, I really appreciate this video. You went above and beyond on your course. Those trail placards are a neat touch.
Well all these crawler vids finally got me going out to get one. I was never really into crawling but I think it’s time to give it a shot. Any suggestions on a truck?? Anyone??
Great videos. I just found out your channel and its easily me favorite now. I just ordered Capra kit now and I was wandering what 2.2 tire is your favorite and you would recommend. There will be some brass.
Before you do the 2.2’s look for my video where I did that. It’s best to stretch the wheelbase with longer rod ends if not it will just flop over backwards. Brass only at the portal drops.
@@ExocagedRC i see. You used the links from trx4 if i remember correctly. Brass only on the portal drops will be easier on the budget. Cool. Do you think that AXE 540L R2 can be fit with some trimming in the capra? I saw your video with the 550 motor, but seems the end of the motor was sloped, which made the job easier.
I posted a pic in the community tab. It takes a lot more trimming to make it work in the Capra. I’m trying to get a new belly made for the Capra that will fit it and extend the rear end out 12mm. That would take care of all you want to do.
Thanks for the video, did you do anything that the Capra DIG locks more easily? Somtimes I got the Problem that the DIG doesn't lock or doesn't release on the first attemp
Joe i noticed you have an aftermarket housing in your 10lll what are you using and do you like it.My 10lll is setting right now with a broken front housing

I’ve only seen that useful on flat areas to get a bit of a rolling dig on turns.

This will be a great vid for my daughter to watch. She has not tried to use the dig on her Capra. Thanks teacher!!!
As always a great video. I watch these on the way to work and they definitely put me in a better mood.
Also showing very good driving 👍
Thank you 👍
Wow great showing ! Thank you.
Never understood why it fell out of favor. Weight maybe? Great video👍
Thanks for the useful tips...was cool to see the capabilities of dig.
Recently received my new Capra, gonna take it on its first run tomorrow.
Very informative, very well explained.
Great video and explanation of the dig. I'll have to look for opportunities to use if more often. I need more diverse terrain to drive on.
Awesome. Thank you for this informative video!
Another great and useful video thanks

Excellent stuff, thanks! 👍
Damn I never even thought about preloading the shocks using the dog. Good tip I will definitely be using that
You need to be able to put rear tires in freewheel on the steep uphill climbs
tried that, doesn't work at all for me
@@ExocagedRC why won’t it work. I had a rc4wd dig tranny years ago and it did all three functions 4wd freewheel and rear lock.
Great content brother! Keep them coming. 💯
Great video as always 👍 does the scx10iii with dig crawl as good as the Capra does with dig
it works well yes

yes it has a REEFS RC 99 Micro servo
@@ExocagedRC
OK thanks, maybe I will try a more powerful servo... REEFS Servos are unfortunately hard to get in Germany... Stay well and safe
Another excellent video!!!
Is there any way to use front wheel drive only and let rear axle free wheel on the Capra, with ability to go back into 4wd?
Yes you can trim or set 3pos switches to get the neutral
@@ExocagedRC that has to be way more useful than 4w steer..in my opinion.
Have you considered trying out the new redcat Gen8 v2 id like to see a review by you great video btw
It's not really any different feature-wise as compared to my current, gen8
Joe i noticed you have an aftermarket housing in your 10lll what are you using and do you like it.My 10lll is setting right now with a broken front housing
Do you need a high dollar controller to be able to set the end points on the dig servo
No, most normal 3ch radios can adjust the epa on ch3, even the stock radio is adjustable but its a bit odd to setup
@@ExocagedRC ok cool
do you ever hook the dig up with the freewheel option?
I need to learn how to set a radio up right with the dig and 2 speed. FSGT5 channel 5-6
choose the channel/knob you want and set the end points
@exocagedrc would you do a traxxas summit series or set of videos? I neeneed some major help with mine.
What is your issue.I am pretty familiar with the summit.
@@discusdog i need a good recommendation for a replacement motor. I want to go brushless and gear it down a little more

Is there front overdrive in that Capra?
yes there is, with the dig locked, the OD doesn't matter. OD works well on turn spots where dig isn't practical

I believe cutting a cutting brake
Allows you to brake each rear wheel individually not sure maybe someone could correct me if that is not correct
Its been a long time since I messed with the real trucks, you're most likely right on that.

Diggin the Vid! ~;+}>
Vanquish has had a dig for the scx10 and scx10ii for years. Also they make a different dig for their vs410. Doing some research helps
yes I know, I used their Hurst dig years ago, the feature fell out of the spotlight for a long time until the Capra brought it back.
Might have fell out in your area but I've seen it alot here in ohio
And its hurtz dig
