One thing about old minecraft that I love so much is that people don't really care about trying to make their builds as crammed with as much detail as possible, they stick to the classic style of minecraft and there's never a need to care so much about trying to make your builds flawless. Truly proves that giving people too many options has a psychological effect on their creativity and all the sudden they feel compelled to use all the new features as much as they can even if they don't want or need to.
I played on the Tirech server back in the beginning of tenth years, where the anons had several sections where they built things under the theme of their boards, like mascots, local celebrities, memes, oh.. And a lot of nsfw things and stuff.
Some group of anonymous asked the admins to allocate them 1000x1000 (?) blocks in order to create new biomes from existing blocks at that time (before Adventure Update). So they created a biome with palm trees using oak, a biome with mountains on the tops of which there was snow, something like a jungle, a volcanic biome, a field with huge sunflowers, overworld nether, canyon hills, and so on.
They also created a wool biome in which wood was replaced with brown wool, grass and leaves with green, water with blue, etc.
Man, since I remember this with warmth in my soul, it means that their many days of work and creative contribution to the "biome project" was definitely not in vain. Thank you for pushing me to these joyful memories.

I have been playing on Beta Revived, a beta 1.3 server, and I really love it, especially when other people are on the server. Even if nobody is online, beta just always remains fun at every moment.

Great vid dude, started watching you some weeks ago when I really started getting into the Beta/Alpha community, Old School Minecraft is by far my favourite Beta server since it's on b1.7.3, but I can defo say that any server in these versions have the nicest of the niche communities! I remember a headline title in my local newspaper in 2011 when Minecraft was front page news. "Mining Simplicity"
In the tekkit days of modding I played multiplayer a lot, and some servers still did a lot of towns, so even on those versions which were more recent than most talked about in this video had that energy for me.
I like the simple build style of the old worlds, I try to get that same vibe in my vanilla survival world, lots of wood and cobblestone
Forgot to mention when playing Beta 1.4, water works in a stupid way. Instead of nowadays where grabbing some with a bucket from an ocean will instantly make the surrounding water source blocks fill it back in essentially recreating the water source block you just took, sometimes a glitch would make it so the surrounding water source blocks would just flow towards what was the empty space without doing much of anything. If you're not careful, you could basically empty out an ocean of water without realizing what you just did.

do u made a movie about better than adventure mod? it can be really interesting video, they add a lot of things but i think that 1.7.6 version of the mod still have that good old nostalgia feeling of old beta minecraft, apart from that 1.7.7 will be (for me imho) a step back looking at the features they will add, it looks too modernistic.

I'd be more impressed that they'd even manage to download Beta Minecraft, seems so laborious to go through the effort for anything other than Nostalgic purposes. Even then, I didn't start playing until 1.5.2, so what is Nostalgia for me would be a world without observers, boats without paddles, and turf wars.
@@ngoway9808 Beta versions are accessible with the vanilla launcher, it’s not laborious at all
Modern Minecraft multiplayer is 100% not what it was nor what it should be. I remember minecraft servers that were survival where you'd set up towns that were far before the Towny plugin existed. We'd build these goofy bases, roads cutting though the weird beta terrain, and just have a good time. I vividly remember the first base I ever saw which was on a server owned by a player called Pootsdeus where the base was a skybase connected with a water stream. It was this nice little 4x8 wooden house on a grass platform with its own farm. It was simple, now its overly complicated. I need to try this out.

Retromc has been my home for a loooong time. i only really care to play on no nonsense well plugin'd servers that let people play SMP but protect people being creative with land plot protection etc. of the big retro servers yeah retromc does it the best imo.

Hey there! That old school server you were one seems to have an issue with basic optifine. People told me to get the patched one but I'm not sure where that is. Any idea why optifine would cause the served to twitch a bit?
hmm I’m honestly not sure why that would be, but sometimes clientside mods are touchy with servers, old servers especially! Maybe mcarchive.net would have the patched version?
Whats the IP for the Hunger Games server? It's been AGES since I've found an active one.
sadly it still seems to be that way. there are active ones out there, but the player base has dropped off tremendously. I know Mineplex and MC Central no longer have them, and the Hypixel version doesn't feel like the OG survival games at all.

My problem on modern SMP´s is that when you see a random player they kill you nomater what but on old servers people are much nicer.

Trash server the mods are really rude in my words I just want a normal server with no micro transactions
