Thanks for these videos! Really helps to make sure I'm doing everything right on my Monster 1200. There aren't too many videos covering this bike on UA-cam.

Question . Per the service manual it says to have the bike upright with the both wheels on the ground. My oil is perfect that way. However when i put in on the rear stand like you do. It looks over filled, thoughts?

Welcome to 2020 COVID-19 lockdown my bike is due a service so I am going to attempt this oil and filter change myself, looks so easy thanks for the video 👏 wish me luck!! (Any tips of oil or filter types, I’ll check the manual but good to get any additional preferences).

Good luck! I like using K&N filters and shell or amsoil oils which I linked in the description. You'll get what you pay for, to an extent, so stick with a good name brand synthetic oil and filter.

Fry, the Service manual for the 2020 Ducati Monster 1200S recommends 3.9 liters of engine oil. I wonder if your stated 3.7l applies to a different model year.

Did you replace the crush washer on the drain plug? If so do you remember what size they are?

I'm not aware of an aftermarket way to reset the oil light. Mine is on and has been for awhile. Next time I have to take it to the dealer they will clear it for me.

Nevermind, I see it at the beginning of the video. Thanks!

100% overtightened that filter! ‘Hand tight’ means with your hands on the filter, not your hand on a wrench! 🤣
These filters a prone to leaking when wrenched on. The nut is only designed for removal.
