Drooling! This is an amazing monster with all of my favorite accessories from the brands.
Cheers buddy, it’s great to jazz up your bike to make it bespoke to you 👍
Good to see you back, been getting impatient... looking forward to more new episodes throughout this year.
Cheers mate, clocks change this weekend so weather should hopefully get better too I hope 👍
Stumbled across your Vlogs after googling CB500X in December 17 after returning to the biking world and now own a 500X which is undergoing Rallyraid conversion... as I watch more vids there are about 20 bikes I want to own... keep up the entertaining work, You kind of remind me of the Alan Partridge of the Biking world but with a little more taste..
Welcome to your new bike and what a great choice, it’ll do everything you want so the AT may become history!!
Have fun!!
Cheers mate, will still use the AT in any shit weather and commuting, bring on the nice weather so I can get out on the Monster 😜
Super nice bike, I love the mods you've added to it. Smashing!
Cheers buddy, it’s a great bike 👍
It's a ripping bike! I couldn't agree more about personal choice, a bike should fit your personality like a glove. We all have our quirks and a good fitting bike will cover all those characteristics. The looks of your Monster are astounding and your part choice adds to it!
Whilst KTM and Aprilia win the performance battle, Ducati certainly know how to put together a premium bike, stunning!
Cheers Jim, also I can always have a ride on my mates Tuono factory and my bro’s SDR 👍
I’m sure for most riding conditions the Duc is equally capable 👍
Nice ! Thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed it. 😊🥇
amazing job, well done, your bike look great
You’ve given me some great ideas for my 797 which I pick up on the 30th! 😊. Cheers! 👍
That’s great Richard. Glad I gave you inspiration 👍
Beautiful bike, awesome mods, but I wanted to hear that thing. Staying tuned.
Cheers buddy, you can hear mine and my mates with different pipes in my latest vid, thanks for watching, GMAN
ua-cam.com/video/OPes2QkeKfA/v-deo.html
Beautiful bike and looks even better with all the changes.
Cheers mate, just want to ride it now 😜
The hoses look like that because of the wax which is used in the rubber permeating to the surface. It is used in the compound to combat ozone cracking as the rubber ages. Rather than trying to get rid I would just cover it with something like ACF -50 as you mentioned below. Lovely lovely machine by the way and great video.
Cheers mate, will try ACF50 on the hoses later today 👍
Looks fantastic 👌
Nice Video good job....
Monday I'll pick up my new Monster 1200S :-)
Cheers buddy, awesome you are getting a new Monster, good luck picking it up, you will love it although 600miles of running it in is painful as you want to give it full beans 😜
Stunning looking bike Grant, the man cave in the background is looking pretty tidy as well, looks well set out bud.
Thanks Chris, Garage getting sorted slowly, been too cold lately to be in there sorting things, roll on spring time 👍,
I chose the sdr but man that is one gorgeous machine!! My next bike for sure
Fantastic video and bike.Subscribed.
She looks really gorgeous!!! Congrats from Italy 👌
Cheers buddy, am loving the monster, just need to get her run in when the sun next comes out 🏍💨👍
Just subscribed to your channel really enjoy your videos great stuff man 👍🏻
Cheers mate, lots more fun vids to come when the weather improves 👍
Stunning bike! Definitely fancying one myself with similar options
Hi Alex, Thanks for watching, can definitely recommend the Monster as loving mine more each time I ride it, just fitted rizoma bar end mirrors that look great, cheers, GMAN
Wowwww I agree for all your upgrades
Beautiful bike mate. Nice video as well.
Thanks mate, got a bit addicted to added new parts but it did look great 👍
Excellent video. Bikes are extremely personal machines as you indicated. I'm looking at getting a street fighter bike in the next few yrs so I've started looking around. I'm in my 50s now so full on sport bike is just to uncomfortable lol lol. I was looking at the KTM, APRILIA and BMW but your video opened my eyes to Ducati. Thank you. 👍
Glad my video was of some use James, I’m late 40’s and done with sportsbikes too, I need comfort and speed at my age 😜
James Melendez check out the Ducati SuperSport. Looks mean, fun and comfy as hell. I am 41 and commute 80 miles a day no issues.
Bella bella...Looks great!!! Really nice job.
Cheers Anthony, my next video features my new Rizoma bar end mirrors which I love 👍
My dads got me to watch you. Love it
kiki shake
How many dads do you have? Modern family I guess.
Tell your dads to watch films about engine. To know the piston moves in a cylinder...not in an exhaust pipe (if you know what I mean).
Very nice !
Lovely looking bike ! Enjoy !
Cheers mate, sold it years ago 😉
After seeing this video, i want to do it on my 821.. thanks nice
Me to I have the '16 821
That is a very nice Monster. You always fit nice extras to your bikes. I’m with you on Evotech, they are awesome. I’ve fitted their stuff to my Speed Triple. That has to be one of the smallest huggers I’ve seen. Each to their own but I think I would fit some bar end mirrors or swap them out for Rizoma.
Cheers buddy, my mate has bar ends on his 1200S so will ride his and see what I think, it is a very small hugger I agree and silly money to have it in carbon but I couldn’t resist! Evotech is superb quality and lasts the test of time too 👍
sexy bike mate, good work
Gorgeous bike
Love the 1200S and if I had the money thats how I would fit extra parts. Not sure if I have heard of evotech before, but I know them now, thanks.
Cheers mate, it’s about making a bike your own, and you will love Evotech, makes R&G look a bit rubbish 😜
The hoses does look nice again when you apply silicone-spray.
Hey, you can clean your hoses with the "meguiar's ultimate black" it works pretty well on my Monster 1200 R. You can use it on your hoses and plastic parts too.
Great to see another monster rider, maybe catch you at a ride out sometime this year, I live in Norfolk.
Hey buddy, we always do a few rides to the north Norfolk coast every year, will try and give everyone a heads up when we go as would be great to meet up 👍😅
Lovely bike
What a lovely bike. 👍🏼
Cheers mate, should be doing a first proper ride vid tomorrow 👍
Beautiful bike, I need a test ride on one soon
Cheers Simon, look forward to hearing how you get on with the test ride 👍
What you said at the end about people asking why you bought the Monster and not a super naked. I agree with you and the same reason I went for the Speed Triple R, enough power for me, with a quality build and great all round bike. Shed loads of low end torque and smooth progressive power. Can be a hooligan if you want it to be and a pussycat if you don’t.
Cheers mate for u understanding what I meant, so many great bikes to choose from and different bikes suit different people and it’s what ever floats your boat 😜
Clean the hoses with silicon spray works a treat. Muc silicone spray is the best IMO just spray on and leave to dry then wipe over.
Good advice buddy, cheers, it does work and now they are not perfect but loads better 👍
Well done man! This is exactly what I have done. However, I disassembled the headlight, to have the headlight surround powder-coated in black to match the rest of the bike and it looks a bit better I think, as there isn;t really anywhere else on the bike that has that grey, the black is nice.
Cheers buddy, great idea on powder coating the headlight surround has hot me thinking 👍
Beautiful bike, the pipes look fab...
Cheers, took her out today for a proper run, loved it, vid coming soon 👍
G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits indeed today was perfect for bikes here... now the clocks have changed I will be doing after work runs to the coast, roll on summer biking!
Welcome back bud
Cheers 👍
beautiful brother !
Beautiful machine
Looking well!!!! Loving the discreet mods. With all the horrible little stones on the road i advise you look into ventureshield. Its s clear film to protect the paint work. I have had it applied to my tuono.
Cheers mate, may go for some venture shield on the tank, will look into it!
You should let yor bike your way! That's nice the way it is. Congrats from Brasil, man.
Cheers mate, I agree 👍
Beautiful bike!
Thanks Alex, 👍,
Beautiful bike! Excellent choices in upgrades. I own a Suzuki SV650n which embodies many of the same qualities as the Monster. Unfortunately I find the SV to be underpowered for highway riding and although the SV is a great bike and highly upgradable there is no way to bring it to the level of refinement that Ducati offers. One day I hope to own a Ducati Monster similar to yours. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching buddy, can recommend the Monster 100%, cheers, GMAN
Looking good
Cheers mate, just want it to warm up a tad so I can get out on her 😜
Beauty Queen. Put some Highsiders mirrors on the low side and it's a real hooligan bike.
Cheers mate, may change to bar end mirrors at some point, my Bro has high sider ones on his SDR 👍
I like the tank pad the way it is, please leave it as is. It looks really cool. Nice bike, :-)
Getting used it it, although as it’s so wide the edges are starting to lift up, may still change it at some point 😬
Absolutely stonking video, great mods, love the organisation of the parts and the walkthrough, a bloke after my own heart the way he looks at the detail. Controversially I'd love to see what the Monster is like with dropped bars, to drop the look from a sit up and beg. I know it's the streatfighter look but I've seen a few streetfighters with slightly dropped bars and it makes a subtle difference. I haven't ridden for 15 years ha so I can't talk, started looking at the Monster having always wanted one (I ended up with an X11 back in the day but always lusted after the Ducati).
Thanks G-Man this video is literally a shopping list for me. I would buy that exact bike if I could! Cheers.
Thanks so much mate for the lovely comment, it’s people like you that make it worth my while making the videos! I’ve added bar ends to my bike now which gives it a more street fighter look, cheers Gman 👍
G-MAN, I saw that you had sold it! Gutted for you but I’m on the hunt for one. Subscribed! Keep up the great vids Cheers!
Still got the Monster buddy, it’s about to either go into Cambridge Ducati showroom on sale or return or bike trader next week, am lowering the price by £500, email me for more info if you are interested mate, no pressure 👍
G-MAN, I’m emailing!
love the parts! just picked up my first bike(Monster 659 2014). Just some bar-ends(mirrors) on that and you're done! ;)
Great you have a monster as your first bike, you will love it 👍🏍💨💨
G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits already do mate! After just two rides. Can’t wait for the time when I’m unrestricted and can take a look at the big sister!;) your bike is amazing!
Brilliant you are loving your bike mate! You will soon be moving up the Monster range in no time don’t worry, great to gain experience too then move up the power ladder 😜
Try 303 UV protectant on your coolant plumbing. Keeps the pipes black on my old 900S & 1299S. 🤙🏼
God shout buddy, cheers! Will look Into that 👍
You should look into ceramic coating your headers, makes the bike look alot nicer imo. A great addition would also be the ducabike clear clutch cover.
Beautiful bike, very jealous. I wish you many enjoyable miles.
I'm most likely getting the yellow 821 as my second bike.
That’s a great idea mate, I loved the 821 when I made a video of it, I wish they did yellow for the 1200 😜
Hi for your hoses try silicon spray from liqui moly it protects and turns black not too glossy, really improves looks and protects.
Cheers David, I give that a go as sounds just what I need 👍
beautiful bike.
Cheers Michael, am loving her although just need some sunshine so I can ride her again 👍
Nice upgrades !
About the rusty chain is obviously that it has '0' lubrication on it, I clean mine yesterday and let it dry over night and it already start to show tiny bits of rust. I have never have rust problems on my Monster chain, I'll keep with maintenance on it...
Cheers buddy, yes as soon as I cleaned and lubed it the rust has gone, the crap they put on at the factory is like a rust magnet I think, I clean and lube every 200miles without fail, OCD has something to do With that I think 😜
Hi Grant, the bike is stunning. Love all those mods, exactly what I would have done. I saw the vid when you picked it up and there was only salt dust on the road, so to get that level of corrosion after a short ride home is rubbish. So the last thing that needs to be swapped out is that poxy chain. It would just irritate me to ride the bike knowing that a bit of cheap sub standard kit is letting the bike down. So for the price of a high quality(? Rental or similar) chain, under £100, the whole bike is spot on. Think you’ve got no chance with the original if it starts off like that. You know it makes sense.👍🏻🏍😱
Good advice mate, will get them to swap it at the service and I’ll provide the new one 👍
Yeah mate ,,,,, you've done what you like ,,, and it look great ,, now enjoy it... have a 1200s too Because I like it !!!
Perfectly said mate 👍
Try a bit of wd 40 on the hoses wipe some on leave it for a few mins and give it rub..
beautyful x 1000, just one thing I didn't like, the turn light, the design it's like not accurate to this bike... this is just my point of view... congrats for your excellent bike! greetings from Argentina
Some red samco hoses will definitely top it off, hopefully they do some !
Will look into the Samco hoses mate 👍
Nice ride bud. I have a 2015 Monster 1200 S Stripe. The stripe comes with lots of carbon parts, but I want to do all the up grades that you have done. So far I haven't changed anything and I love the bike. Thinking of doing the full Termi exhaust, but I know that's quite a few dollars here in Canada. Once again nice ride my friend. Cheers.
Cheers Don, it does get addictive adding parts to your bike, but that’s what makes it special to you, termi pipes are not cheap but the look and sound amazing 😜
HAHAHA! Yes the addiction is real, but I can think of a lot worse things to be addicted to. Once again thanks for the informative vid and I will keep watching for anything new. CIAO!
Nice bike. I can totally see where youre coming from with regards to choice...its what you like. Same for me....got a few bikes including a Ducati (Hypermotard 1100 evo sp) but my naked of choice is the gen4 z1000 - owned it for 4 years now and i love it. No plans to change it, if anything itll be getting more updates soon (with a full system and air filter once theyve been mapped and flashed they make nigh on the same as an s1000r). My only gripe with Ducati is their finish (youve had one already) but ive found the coatings are a waste of time (paint peels, bolts corrode, the chain!) 2 years on from owning mine im still getting parts recoated (engine casings have just been done). Front barrel will be coming off soon for the same treatment. Whoever is in charge of fixings and fittins at Ducati either hasnt seen rain or needs firing. Pronto.
I know what you mean buddy, lucky for me my Monster will never see any bad weather, I use my Africa Twin everyday and even that is getting messed up even with constant cleaning! Went to Ducati yesterday as a warning light came up on my dash, turned out to be that the Bluetooth module doesn’t like my iPhone 10! And the chain is like new again after I cleaned it but not good it was rusty after just a 5mile ride on dry roads 😳 , cheers, GMAN
Heh - yeah - thats my point....even if you keep it garage queen dry itll corrode. Ive had chicken dinners that have lasted longer than some of the bolts....if youre planning on keeping it id suggest changing everything from the ground (literally) upwards with either stainless or Ti. Its definately them (ducati) i also have an old rsv4 factory pre aprc) with 12k on the clock that has faired way way better than the hyper (hyper has 10k and is a year newer). Ive found for coatings Cerakote and Xylan are amazing...literally everything proof. Ive got a project ktm 525 supermoto thats been rebuilt from the ground up and coated in regular powder coat and Xylan and 3 years on from the build it looks like brand new.
Dude once you've cleaned the bike, put some silicone dedicated oil or tyre silicone, wich you can get in grocery store, in car and accesories section, to bring back that shiny black colour. The same with brake and clutch hoses mate. Wonderful bike!
Cheers Nico, that’s sounds a great idea, 👍
Beautifull bike
Cheers Frank! Hopefully get out on her this week end 👍
Bike looks stunning, just bought an 821 as a second bike, wondering if I should have gone for the 1200 ?
Saying that it’s my first Ducati and I’m hooked…
There's something to be said for a man who'll spare no expense! Looks great man.
Don't you have to remap it when you decat it?
You might try Flexidip on the hoses. It's just rubberized paint you can spray right on them. If it doesn't look good you can just peel it off.
Cheers buddy, when Ducati fitted the Termi pipe it comes with its own map key so all good! Thanks for the flexibility tip, have cleaned them up and they are now looking much better 😜
Get KochChemie PlastStar for the hoses. I’m using it for my 821. you have to re-apply it every now and then but it looks good
I’ll check that out mate. Cheers 🍻
Veryyy nice 👍👍
Thanks Martin, hopefully get out for a ride on her at the wend 👍
Looks good mate. You want to ask them about that chain as mine is ok. I think we made a great Choice in bike 😊
Cheers Jon, chain is fine after I cleaned it, may buy a better quality chain and get them to fit it at the service 👍
I love your Bike :) i have the same in grey /
Hi mate, they are great bikes, hopefully get mine out tomorrow if the sun shines 😜
Nice looking bike mate! I use 'Mucoff motorcycle protect' after cleaning and it makes all the hoses and plastics look like new.
Good advice Ben, will check that product out 👍
Hi mate, use ACF50 on my Africa Twin do I’ll try it on the hoses, good advice 👍
Sounds good 👍
G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits yeah I use acf50 in winter but find the mucoff stuff easier to use for the rest of the year as it's not as thick.
Cant believe you sold it ! ;-)
Probably been commented here already but ACF-50 will bring the hoses up lovely and bright and keep them like it.
Cheers Jay, have tried that and it did work 👍
Try cherry blossom shoe polish for the hoses. I used it to change my dash in my t4 from grey to black 👍
Worth a go mate, thanks for the help 👍
dream bike
Can you get away with changing the size of your license plate?
@Dar R depend on what place you live. some cops will let it go, most doesn't.
Yes mostly ok were I live, some parts of the U.K. seem a bit stricter and cops will pull you for it with a warning 😜
Have you tried auto solve black cleaner for your pipes.
Also are you taking your bike to Jacca this year. We heading out in vans on the 20/6/18
Very good mate, well done. Replace the hoses with any good silicon brand, many out there now. Keep well from Australia again 🇦🇺👍🍺
Cheers Darrell, definitely thinking of. Having the hoses and chain as both crap quality 🙄
G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits. Agree, own a few Ducati’s and will never change my loyalty, but they just get the small things like chains, hoses and some plastics wrong sometimes, especially for such an expensive bit of of kit. But f#*ck they are amazing and no one will ever know what we are on about until they’ve owned and opened the throttle on one. ❤️
True words mate, no bike is perfect but the small Ducati issues can all be sorted pretty cheaply, and the rest of the bike is spot on!
Lovely bike & bits. Made me laugh when you mentioned your chain. I have spent loads of time trying to keep my stock chain rust-free, (2017 Monster 1200). Gone through loads of Wurth chain stuff. Only option is to get a better chain. Decent chain about £150. Only regret...not going for the 1200 S. Ohlins worth the price alone. Also stock indicators cheap & nasty, went for the performance ones too.
Agree mate, funny thing is the monster chain is a high quality DID chain just seems to rust at any sign of water, maybe a gold DID chain would be better. Any way I only ride the monster in the dry, I use the Africa Twin in shit weather 😜
Ps, only real reason I went for the S model was the Ohlins setup 👍
Hi, great looking bike gave me some ideas for my future 1200s I plan to buy.
The R version had a steering damper do u feel or recommend to fit it on the S. Thanks
Hey buddy, great you took inspiration from my video, bet you are very excited to be getting your Monster? I do think the steering damper should be fitted as standard and is lots of money to retro fit! Having just spent a week riding in the Pyrenees on my Monster I can safely say I never had any scary front end moments as the roads were so smooth by when riding in the U.K. I’ve had a few moments were I think a steering damper would of helped as the roads are very bumpy! So depends how good the roads are where you live and if you want to spend £600 on one, good luck with the new bike, cheers, GMAN
Have you thought about the Ducabike Clear Clutch Cover? I have the 2017 grey 1200S and love mine...
Hi mate, may change the clutch cover at a later date, nice to add new parts as you go along! Do like the grey monster, got such a mega deal on my red one I couldn’t resist 😜
I have the werkes competition exhaust on my 821 and I have never heard a meaner exhaust. Everyone gets termignoni but they can't possibly sound better. My Ducati now sounds like a Harley and even crackles and pops on throttle blips. And it's LOUD.. maybe too loud even 😬
I think the black hoses should be cool with red Samco Sport hoses. I believe there is Matt black colour as well.
Hey buddy, will definitely change them if I cannot make them look better, and Samco will be where I go 👍
Lovely bike, roll on summer.
P.s. your paddock stand lifting handle is on upside down :)
Cheers mate, funny you noticed that, built it in a rush, need to sort it when I get a spare moment 😜
good eye adam!!
Very good makes the bike stand out , are you going to fit sliders and protection just in case?
Sold it ages ago!
Lovely bike, nice upgrades. Where did you get the smaller plate from?
Cheers Rick, the plate came from
www.a1showplates.com/creator.html?registration=YOUR+REG&type=show&submit=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5JfQ36qZ2QIVzbDtCh0IIAeXEAAYAiAAEgIppPD_BwE
I recommend getting a servo eliminator ✌🏻
Sold the bike ages ago mate but thanks anyway 👍
Loving the Look of the Bike mate! Have you got a share in Evo tech? haha!
Cheers mate, you cannot beat a bit of evotech 😜
Put AFC-50 on the rubber it looks awesome
Hi, have tried that buddy was better but not perfect, just got used to the hoses as they are now 😜
Hi! Nice bike and vid! What about the up map? Any difference? Cheers
Not sure mate, had the pipe in from new 😬
Impressed. How is it that your warranty is unaffected by all these mods. Here (in Ireland) they will use any excuse to invalidate your warranty and the insurance will do the same to invalidate your insurance. So I done no mods to my 821 over that.
You should try some acf50 on the hoses. It keeps mine looking like new for a few weeks. Although that mysterious white residue does not appear on mine. Perhaps you should look at them being replaced under warranty as its obviously some fault with the exterior finish. I got a new exhaust fitted to mine under warranty simply because the black paint started flaking off - and similarly the left side engine cover paint finish was starting to bubble - also replaced under warranty.
Just one other point - the white stripe on the tank might be difficult to fit now unless you remove your existing tank guard. Then I would recommending leaving it off. The white stripe with one of these tank protectors looks terrible.
Samco makes silicone hoses that are color for that bike
If I cannot clean the hoses up I’ll definitely get samco ones 👍
I think the red is beautiful as it is I wouldn’t add anything
Nice video.
Could you please tell me the part code of the two pairs of led turn indicators for the front and the rear? Are they have the same part code and also plug and play? Thanks alot.
Sorry mate no idea, sold that bike years ago 😎
Have you considered the motodemic headlight? Heard it’s pretty amazing.
Hey buddy, never heard of that make, will look into it 👍
Are you going to fit an auto chain luber
