I wouldn't say by far, a lot of good games came out in 2018, right off the bat. I think Celeste just BARELY beats it, but it's close competition. A lot of people liked RDR2 as well, and Into the Breach. But I would say Subnautica definitely deserves a top spot
I think “Lava Castle” 1:11:21 is the most dread inducing song in the game. It played during the first time I got warped by a warper in the Blood Kelp Trench, I’ll never forget how scared I was as I tried to swim back to my PRAWN Suit being chased by Ampeels and Warpers alike.
same here it was the first time I was there in the darkest deep yet and saw the blue glowing trees which I left the semoth to investigate the red/green spheres around it (no song yet) suddenly something warped in some meters away then in mind WTF???? is that ugly shit (song kicks in) and my heart started racing, got inside the seamoth and got away as fast as you can, I tried to avoid that part of the deep for way too long.
5:13 ooh nice calm relaxing music about a nice atmospheric, peaceful game underwater 45:27 wow, nice and spooky atmospheric music. Really got that feel. 1:07:41 ... 24:23 *AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*

OMG thank you so much for uploading this. I've been watching jacksepticeye play this game and ive been wanting to listen to the soundtrack since forever
Okay... I... This is awesome. I just- I- I NEED TO ADD THIS TO A FRICKEN PLAYLIST SO I CAN LISTEN TO IT ANYTIME I WANT!! Also I cant decide between Leviathan, Abandon Ship, and Diving Buddy.
That is actually the one song i don't really enjoy. Its got that pointless vibrate your house/car bass to it all the "cool kids" play. Thats not music. Thats annoying.
This soundtrack still sounds so cool and is one of the main reasons I fell in love with this game on UA-cam a couple-o-years ago. But after listening to the Minecraft Soundtrack for a long time, I now wish that many of these tracks were a lot longer, perhaps twice and sometimes three times as long as they are. In Minecraft Soundtrack, you'll often see tracks that are 4-6 minutes or even 8 minutes long whereas here they're often over one-and-a-half minute long and some barely reach 3 minutes. And the longer tracks could have some variation in their rhythm and melody sort like Minecraft ones do.
Teoxtli hold on Leviathan plays when your cyclops is on fire? Man I need to find that engine blueprint like now. Also, where do I find them, I just need one more.
This is a fantastic album. "Crash Site", "Bone Fields", and "Crush Depth" are some of my favorites. Though, I feel the need to break out the glowsticks for "Cuddlefish". Not that this is a bad thing.
I love the whispers in "Bone Fields", it makes me think of them as "whispers from the past" from the ancient creatures whose bones remain fossilized in the lost river.
Into the unknown reminds me of a soundtrack from the 3rd birthday game, called from the end, they're quite similar, it's awesome, I love these types of soundtracks
It's so good when you need to be creative ♥ I'm listening to this while I'm writing a new part for my story (btw, I'm a writer) :D This music is so beautiful, love it ♥♥
eXernox Well that’s a bummer but at least I got the sound track ps sorry for what happened to you and your job that must suck pps the possible dlc subnautica won’t have half a good a soundtrack than this one so keep up the work 🙂🙂🙂

By far, the best game of 2018
well the year just started, although quite strongly
RDR2 will be goty by all standards in 2018 but this game will be a goty in many hearts, hope it gets the proper recognition in the VG year awards.
God of War is my goty choice tbh, but it's probably because I'm a fanboy of that franchise. Subnautica is really good though.

dat sucks have u ever been atacked by a lethiathin
ever been attacked by that big giant leviathan creature that lives in the lava areas

I'm buying it today just so its on my steam account, i'll also download it after I get a better PC.
