I ordered a Hamer rear steel bumper/tow bar from Australia. It looks fancy with the Hamer bullbar up front so we decided to put a Hamer bar in the rear too. Awesome
@@highergroundlifestyle The only thing is would suggest is to secure the left and right side braces first because they fit like a glove and then install centre cross bar because it was so heavy.
Thanks Norman for these helpful and detailed videos. Took me a bit longer to fix the left rear trim back on due to the additional wiring, but other than that trouble free. Cheers
Richard, glad it helped! I’ve now had the rear panels on and off a few times so it gets easier. Have also found the bar as easy to remove as I’m moving to my other Jimny. Cheers. N
Many thanks. It really isn’t difficult, the electrics are “plug and play” and you won’t break anything. Biggest job is removing the plastic trim! Good luck. N
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Absoloutely!!! You may pay a few more £ but you will get a bar that fits and a wiring harness designed for the car. That’s what I used. The aftermarket ones are a real mixed bag but they will all require you to cut and splice wires. (I’ve seen people get in a right mess with them) Defo go factory bar. Best wishes. N
I’m not aware of anything else that will fit into the towbar if that’s what you mean - but the towball would make a good recovery point in any event. Cheers. N
Hi there, thanks this is really useful. I am going to fit a tow bar and a seven pin electrics kit to my 2019 SZ5, do you know if this would need any additional electrics? Thanks!
Hi. The second video in this series covers the electrics. If you use the Suzuki loom it’s just “plug and play”. You may need a 7 -14 pin adapter. Cheers. N
@@highergroundlifestyle thanks I’ve ordered a Tow Trust from Towbars Direct with a seven pin kit and a bypass relay 🤷🏻♂️ hoping to work that out. Super useful videos for the first steps though. Cheers! J

Sounds great!
I'm installing it today. It should take 2 hours to install the bar and and maybe an hour to fit the wiring.
Very helpful - fitted mine in 2 hours, including refitting parking sensor cables and reversing camera...! Great job, thanks..!
Glad it helped. Cheers. N
Thank you for the video on installing the tow bar on the Jimny. The video was very informative and made it easy.
Glad it helped! Best wishes. N

Glad it helped

I just hope the part 2 :) very nice work. clear and smart
Guillaume, many thanks! Follow the link at the end of the video for part 2!
Excellent well explained! I might tackle this myself.

@@highergroundlifestyle do you reckon the genuine Suzuki towbar would be better than the cheaper aftermarket ones

Please share the link to buy
Can you install something else instead of the towbar ? For instance a recovery point ?

That is where I got my Vitara from.
Good job, looking forward to part 2 🤙
Andy, many thanks. Should be with you very soon!
Exactly what i needed... thanks
Glad it helped!

Where did you buy it ? What dealership
Inverness Suzuki
Where did you buy the electrics?
From Suzuki. I wouldn’t use any generic loom, these are “plug and play” with no connections to be made. Cheers. N
@@highergroundlifestyle I don't want to use generic loom either, here in Mexico the dealership don't sell it.
Do Jimneys come with a hitch? unsure :/
It’s an extra available from Suzuki.
@@highergroundlifestyle Thanks for the info!! 😁
Why didn't you share after the montage is finished?
Sorry, not sure what you mean.

Probably just slightly rusted! Give it a good spray of WD40 and see how that goes. Best wishes. N
