Awesome video with a lot of details! One question: between standard suspension and Adaptive M Suspension, will M provide more comfort than the standard, less road feel? Or is it just more stiffness only by adding Sport Plus?

After owning 4 BMW X5’s, I have to say they continue to be Awesome & Trouble Free. I currently have a 2020 Blue XDrive and a 2021 White XDrive both have 335 HP & are pretty fast at 5.1 seconds. I have had them up to 135MPH and they are very stable at speed. They are perfect for passing 2 Semi Trucks at the same time.
No lack of power. If you want more power get the M50 or M60 X5 with the V8 and over 500HP.
Just took my 2020 X5 on a 2,400 Mile Trip to Arizona and back. It reached 25MPG and it was loaded with 800 pounds of people and gear. I was very pleased with the 110MPH to 120 MPH passes and the constant 75MPH to 80MPH where it cruised for hundreds of miles.
Just a Great BMW overall.

I might be getting the x4 soon, but i am afraid that there will be a new facelift version or an updated version of the idrive from 7 to 8. I just dont want to feel inferior in a way. I’ve heard that x4 won’t be having new ones. Need insiders and thoughts. Thanks
I love the fact that you guys use a decibel meter to check the interior noise. Not sure if you are checking all cars on the same road and at the same speed but this can have a huge effect on the interior noise so unless you are doing this the noise ratings are not as useful. Thanks for the excellent video.

I have an older BMW with physical gauges and buttons. It handles well if I want to have fun and I also use it to get coffee and groceries.
This X5 with the interior LED lightshow seems a bit much.

Great review as usual guys. I still prefer a traditional gauge cluster and physical knobs and buttons for climate control. Speaking of climate control, seems like you had the A/C running. Does it cool nicely? At 27:11 you can see there is a sizeable gap between the dash and the back of the display. How does one keep that clean and also what if you were to somehow drop something small behind it, etc.

It's behind the display so i don't think you'll keep something there than can drop behind. Also, because of the angle of the camera, i think it looks much bigger than in real life. Let's face it... we're not perfect either 😁

Prior display in 2023 and earlier model X5 with buttons for AC control is more intuitive. This models huge screen looks tacked on and not proportional

I like this one better, I like large digital screens, perhaps that's the trend and demand and that's why they changed!
historically Mercedes had an edge over BMW when it comes to interiors, but not anymore I guess! BMW was always superior when it came to machinary part! thereby this X5 may be the best ever BMW product
The Executive Package also includes soft-close doors -- I wish you had demonstrated them. It was good that you eventually showed the pricing sheet, but it would have been better to do that and note the color at the start of the review.
Now my new 24' BMW X5 SUV I can get one.
Took delivery 4/27 ordered 3/25 - 2024 X5 Carbon Black, M Sport/Pro, 22" black rims lots of compliments about the look. Was little concerned about most of the buttons going away but i8 works very well easy to learn. Car drives/rides great even with the 22"'s. TU2 B58 engine power moves it along very well, V8 not really needed with the new B58.
How's the ride with 22" wheels?
@aqibjaved1508 Better than I expected, wife doesn't complain lol. Actually we rode in a friend's Porsche Cayenne recently had 20 inch wheels ride was more jolting than the X5 wi5h 22s. Hope that helps.

I’d just like to know where you are supposed to attach the front license plate. It looks like a US plate would block some important sensors if you put anywhere near the center of that front bumper.
Is this specified with double glazed side windows?

By far, the best X5 ever! 5.2 secs. 0-60 is less than many have tested. Most say 4.7 sec to 60mph with AWD. Also, torque is listed at 398 lbs. Thx for the review!

also you can get the JFA Stage 1 Remap on the '22 X5 45e which takes it 500bhp with 700NM

What’s the jam being played at 11:46? And the Bowers and Wilkins you can only get in the x5 m60i and x5m competition. It’s not a option in the x50 40i. BMW said people in the 67,000 range X5 starts at usually can’t afford or don’t choose to go with the $3,500+ sound system so it’s been discontinued for 2024
Overall, it's a fantastic machine with an awesome powertrain. Personally, I though after test driving the previous generation, I found the brakes way too sensitive and abrupt especially in stop and go traffic. For reference I was used to a Mazda CX-5's brakes which I found very smooth and didn't grab hard immediately on pressing.
Mazda has some weird brakes, they are not as aggressive, I agree
Agreed, but to stop a 2.5tons SUV, better get aggressive brakes that you can learn to use softly, than not enough brakes 😅
the brakes do take some getting used too, however I go between the X5 and my truck now that I've had it a while.
Love that car, but the fact that as a Florida resident, you cant get ventilated seats unless you chose only black leader is a no for me. When we got our GLE, we were able to customize everything

According to the Build and Price, you cannot. But I would check with your local BMW dealership to make sure you can't still order it internally
Great job guys! I'm biased as I have the 2021 X5 45e PHEV, but I don't think it was a good idea to move most of the climate controls to the screen instead of hard buttons. It's a very nice screen though. The best feature I think with the refresh is the upgraded Driving Assistance package which lets you go hands free driving on the freeway up to 85 mph.

Agreed. There are certain functions that should always remain analog: climate controls, audio controls, drive modes to name a few.
How have you liked your X5 45e? I'm very strongly considering putting down a deposit for the X5 50e (HDA and EV power boosts are a must over the 45e for me); although I hope this to be a car I can keep for a long time and while BMW has (somehow) joined the top 3 most reliable brands, I'm really concerned about everything being in the touchscreen.
How are your mpgs on the 45e? I’m seriously considering getting the 2024 x5 50e hybrid
@@glennsugana4348 volume is still analog. Not to mention you can do a lot on the steering wheel.

Received mine on 6/2/23 and its back in the shop with 165 miles on 6/8/2023.
Faulty Turbo gateway.

I couldn’t wait for the new refreshed model so changed my 2019 X5 for a Mercedes GLE 400D which is not as good to drive as my 2019 X5, but has better technology inside

Nice review. I am specing one of these out right now and curious about the glass controls. Did you like them? Does the gear selector light up at night? The standard selector has a LED strip on it so you can easily see it. I imagine the glass one has some sort of illumination but there is no info out there about this. Thanks! I believe they have ambient lighting inside of the glass shifter but I'm not 100% sure. We love the feel and look of the glass controls though!

A little off-topic - but will the new X3 M40i have more horsepower than currently? It has the same engine but currently runs at about 380 hp or so.
Yes both hp and torque has increased. But it consumes more fuel and heavier as well.

At 18:48 you discuss the updated powertrains. I wonder whether anything changed beyond dialing up the boost a few pounds; why mess with what is arguably perfection that is the 3.0L turbo I6. Do you guys know? Or, maybe nothing changed and they just updated the specs to reflect reality (historically BMW underrates power.)
We didn't see anything specific that they mentioned in the press release. While power is more, thankfully nothing changes about the overall (excellent) character of the engine

Honestly I think the IX 50 looks more modern and aggressive, this one aged and doesn't look too different from a 2011 bmw X5

Why have they take the rear seat release levers away from the boot space that's plain stupid ? they seem to have removed a lot of utility across the design while increasing the price eg physical buttons/fog lights/seat levers etc etc - fyi the current model has hydraulic boot compartment (I have a '22 X% 45e)
why not the new 2023 tesla model y with comfort suspension? also better insulation let us know what is the cabin noise
Model Y is not luxurious. It is much faster than those normal GLE or X5, but it is the size of Toyota Rav4.....I personally like the tech and acceleration of the Model Y and the luxurious feel of X7 or GLS or above tier SUVs.
18:00 = doesn't look practical to take out the spare tyre due to the edge rear protruding out and lengthening your reach to grab the spare tyre
Horrible front cupholder placement. You can't get to your phone with something in the cupholder.

what is more bang for the buck? X5 or X7? I have seen so much negativity about the large grille and eyebrow headlights in the front. Is X7 really that bad?
If you need 3rd row seating go for X7. Otherwise X5 should be enough
Ok I’ve owned the 2024 X5 for a month and lack of controls is really not an issue. First of all auto climate setting is great, I hardly need to change anything. And if I do, I use voice control and it works great. Love the car. Probably my biggest issue, that I haven’t seen in any review, is you really need to slam the door to close it. When I get in the car I really need to remember to use extra strength or it won’t close. I wish it was a delicate smooth motion

Hate the fact that the new one has no physical buttons for climate. im the kind of person who constantly changes temp and fan speeds cos i dont like auto climate. This is a big no for me. happy with my 2023 x5, not sure if im gonna be upgrading to a newer x5 in the future if they try to save money by putting evering on the stupid screen

It seems like they could have done a lot more with this. Compare the 2018 x5 with the 2019 and the 2023 with the 2024 and you can see how this is not that much of an upgrade.

All things considered, roominess, luxury, ride and handling???
Personally, I’ve always appreciated the more standard power in the X5 over the GLE as well as a few other tech features. Both are nice though, and the GLE is a tad bit roomier and it feels higher off the ground. That’s a plus also. I sometimes feel torn and want both.
X5 hands down.
@@Integratedcraig you are absolutely right. The GLE takes it in the second row, but other than that..the X5 wins in my book. Even BMW’s comfort access adds to the points! I don’t understand why I can’t just get out of the GLE, walk away, and it automatically locks. 😆
