"Henry is going to be dinner"
Henry 🐮🌾
😭 rip Henry the hamburglar
Zach I love how you broke everything down for us.
It is nice to hear it is ok not to have everything perfectly organic on your homestead. We to try to keep as clean as we can, but sometimes you just cant. Loved the video. GOD bless
Watch that Jersey bull....we had a dairy with Jerseys...don't trust them they will turn on you ....we had one that went mad, tore up the piping at the water pump, tank and all...we had to go in the pasture with him with a reinforcement rod....ground him up in all hamburger, we figured something that mean would be tough....just be careful
Why tf do you type like that
I got 17 brangus , you aint kidding about them testing the fences ..one big thing i learned with this heard , you are there to bring us food , dont care if the whole 40 acres is green , if you wanta touch me , you better keep visiting alot , with food , alot of food ..and dont mess with my calf unless your ready to tussle ..dont even try to touch me until you got me some food ..
We had a Jersey milk cow when I was a teenager that I milked every day. Dad and I milked in the evening and mom in the morning. Oh yes. Her name was Daisy. LOL
Happy birthday Wyatt!
I live on a acre on the edge of town. Only thing we can have is 6 hens here and my garden. I have fruit trees also. I want to convince our town to let me have 2 goats. Have a great evening.
I've been farming in Hawaii for 11 years and we're getting ready to get our first cow (with a calf on her). I'm so excited! We have 9 acres, so hopefully with additional feed that'll be good for her. We have a couple large donkeys so hopefully she'll be as easy to handle as them.
9 acres in Hawaii, wow! How is it going with the cows?
Great video. Good info. We have right at 12 acres too and are about to venture into cows. AND I CAN NOT WAIT!!! :)
Thank you so much for the info. I am 71. Wish I had learned this when I was younger! Love u guys!
Great Info, wonderful looking farm.
Lol.. early comment. I was laughing at "bulls don't usually let you do this". Our current bull was a mommy passed, mind you it was grazing, but we did one week of bottle anyway and dude is so gentle and loves us. ❤
Happy birthday Wyatt!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WYATT!! It looked like so much fun!!🎉
Happy birthday, Wyatt.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WYATT 🎉🥳🎈
Ty for showing the cows again. You have had them 2 years. You picked up 2 on the 4th of July and the other 2 on the 5th. Remember I had a hangover lol good job Zac on how to raise cows. Love y’all.
Your cows look so good and healthy 😊
🎂 Happy Birthday Wyatt
Really cool to see in-depth, personalized information!
well done , cows are my favorite farm animals. best of luck for the future. Zach is a magic bull.
Great video. So sweet to see how you love your cows. Good luck with Flossie!!
HANK has my ❤
That has been my biggest hang up is not being able to leave. So I’ve been learning about the calf sharing. I’ve got a son in the military on opposite coast as me, another son attending college many many states away and a daughter with our granddaughter a few hundred miles away. Plus 3 stepchildren with multiple more grandkids everywhere else lol I want to be able to see them but I also want my own milk, butter, cheese, ice cream, sour cream, yogurt, etc lol and the beef in freezer. Thank you Zach
Happy Birthday. 🎂🎁🎉🎈🥰
flip flop barnyard has a steer that the kids ride so funny to see 3 kids on a steer walking around no saddles lol hugssssss
Don't have milk cows, but do have meat cows. Best move I made since I started homesteading. For milk I have dairy goats , harder to get cream and butter and that's the trade off. The hardest animal we've had was a buck goat, so now I borrow a buck for a couple of months to breed my does. Great video, thanks Zach.
Thank you so much for this video. I enjoyed it. Please keep sharing about your animals.
LOVE YOU STIVER'S 🌷🌺🌹🌹 HAPPY BIRTHDAY WYATT 🥳🎈 GOD BLESS YOU ALL 🙏
Great information! Happy birthday Wyatt!
Great information! Happy birthday to Wyatt.
Love your cows and your channel.
Happy Belated Birthday Wyatt hope you had a great day the farm looks awesome
The cows look great
Great video brother. Hopefully, I'll get our cows this year. We had cows years ago before i was born.
Sure agree about Angus vs Hereford bulls.
Informative and helpful! I've been needing to start learning about this topic and this is very helpful 👍
Happy Birthday Wyatt enjoy your day
Daisy is soo pretty!
Actually very helpful! Thank you!
BLESSED BIRTHDAY MASTER WYATT. ENJOY.
Maybe you should have her checked to see if she has ovarian cysts. If she has cysts, you can have her treated with a progesterone IUD, which acts as a false pregnancy and breaks down the cyst. After 14 days to 3 weeks, the spiral can be removed and she will approximately 4 days later come into heat again with a reasonable chance that she can become pregnant again. I have tried it several times with Jersey Cows
Just seen this video came here to say the same thing, is she cystic?
Happy Birthday Wyatt 🎈🎈
Thanks for sharing! Love seeing the cattle. Are you going to separate Shelby and Daisy from the bulls? Being part Jersey, Shelby could go into heat as early as 4 months.
Lol i got my cows 2 years ago also for my birthday. I jave mini lowlines and a mini Charlay was added this year for mothers day
A curiosity, I know horses can roam wooded spots, but do cows? Can you enclose wooded & pasture for cattle?
Yes, you can. That's how we have ours and so does our neighbor. Our cows like to eat the leaves off the trees.
@@jenniferwilliams545 Thank you. I’m on the edge of woods and leaving it seems better than clearing. Not doing it anytime soon, but I like to think ahead.
Thank you for the info. I thought cows needed more space
We have 80 +acres cattle and im wanting to get some pigglets. And my husbsnd wants to get some sheep to clear his brothers land 200+acres
I love lazy rivers cause i cant swim and its so relaxing.
What a great video!
Love this! Also SomerSplash? We love that place!
Happy birthday sweet Wyatt. Your growing up too quick 😘
Great video ❤
Happy birthday 🎉🎂
Informative thank you
Thanks for sharing. Great video and very informative! We’re researching as much as we can before getting our first milk cow. Could you do a video in the barn you keep your girls in? From layout to cleaning to flooring… I can’t find that information anywhere. Also, just out of curiosity, where are you guys located?
she may be cystic which you could fix with AB. A scan or palpation may tell you
###Zack, feed Flossy, Alffa & molasses...it helps replenish ,what is missing n you mite want to have her stand on lower ground for you bull he mite just be abit too short...or it bothers her that he has a harder time ... seen this as a problem b4... It won't hurt to try!!!
Lol my neighbours have Angus 🥴🙄🤦 enough said re fences 😅 and they've also turned me off border Leicester sheep... again enough said 😂
I ordered COMFREY seeds from you last year. Could you do a video on how to save the seed? Do you know your variety? I let mine flower, but am not seeing any seed now that the flower is spent. Only one seed maybe, and it is white.
Great video sir. A young farmer here from the Philippines. Was just curious about using mini-hereford as your bull for the dairy cows: got your point in producing a smaller cow, with less feed requirements, but won't the genetic downgrading be significant on the milk production side? or from your experience, hereford + jersey would still produce adequate milk for a homestead? got curious because i was planning to the same for our dairy cows (mate them with a smaller, meat-type and docile bull) thanks again a new subscriber here!
I was thinking the same thing. It doesn't add up to me.
Why I said to "Shhh. Henry is in earshot of you."
I would recommend doing AI before you get rid of your cow, to see if that will take. At least you can contol the situation and know her heat cycle, since cows are the easiest to monitor, at least in our case.
I want cows milk but I just got a 5.45 acre property and don't know if I can. Property is in Lexington TN any advice? I also want milk goat and horse at some point
do the cows eat that grass on the land you have or do you feed them a seperate type of grass?
I’ve been thinking about buying a steer to harvest on my property I have two acres. Dumb question, can farmers harvest a dairy cow? Do they ever harvest meat from a dairy cow? Or is it strictly for milking? Obviously I’m a newbie at this haha
Yes, you absolutely can. The biggest difference is a dairy cow isn’t going to grow big and meaty like a big angus steer. So, you won’t get as much meat but you will still have more than enough. We mix our jerseys with an angus bull to get meat & dairy
ok
I don't even know what cows Garelick farms get their milk from
Yo dejaria a Henry y venderia el redford que es ganado de carne en cambio Henry es un toro de leche;adema's dos toros no se dejan a menos que tengas unas 50 vacas
I couldn’t name something then eat it damn
Maybe get my meat fishing and hunting give them a fair chance to run and get away.
But I'm too good and fishing and hunting.
Guess I just have to make beer and babies with all my free time.
I like the lifestyle or the appeal of freedom, but there will be them times, where life is going to be tough. Hit me in the face like Mike Tyson.
I know I don't want to kill a pet I loved and feed and raised. I got issues... Hunger will set in and I will work it out, but it will take time.
Crap, I don't even want to deal with birthing babies in the middle of the night. I don't even have clean soaks.
I'm going to start out with bee hives and warm farms and move up from there. Get some green houses and see out it goes.
I'll trade honey and Royal Jelly for beef and fresh milk.
