Ted " One day it 'its you. You see yourself, and you're an old man. Its then you realise life's passed you by. You're on your way out." Albert ( who's older). " I got up feeling relatively 'appy. Thanks for that."
And a park bench would be in it place at number 7 for the next 16 years, until Len Fairclough buys number 7 and rebuild it for his wife Rita Fairclough.
This one is Robert Dorning, Father of Stacey Dorning, Black Beauty's owner a few years later. He also starred opposite Arthur Lowe in the second series of "Pardon the Expression", the spin off from Coronation Street featuring Leonard Swindley. The seco d series is the better and very funny. After that they made another spin off where the two of them were paranormal investigators, but nothing remains of that series.
@@gilgameshofuruk4060 I never knew there were Corrie spin offs! Would love to have seen those. Maybe some retired Granada technician has it in his attic somewhere.
@darganx Pardon the Expression is out on DVD. Betty Driver is in it too. The first series is OK with some really bad episodes, but the second series is brilliant.
I keep coming back this episode as Coronation Street celebrates it 60th anniversary and i must say that landlord was a rather tight git, Can't even afford to get someone to come out to repair Albert guttering. Len should have bought the house himself and rebuild it and rent it out to someone who needs it most.
Does anyone else think the landlord's name is pretty ironic considering his position. Wormhole is a name that wouldn't engender a good feeling when considering a home. Not only because of wood worms, but just the word Association with landlord and worm. It seems other tv programs have used similar names for men involved in selling homes. I think it was a Doctors series I don't know which series where Duncan, Collier & Dick were looking into buying a house. They accidentally bid against eachother raising the price but eventually sell it to a couple for a profit or at least that was their plan. Anyway the man who they were dealing with had some silly name...
Caroline G By thé same token - he would be aware of what to look out for then. And they have to weigh up the possible danger to Lucille rather than to themselves. Sounds fairly selfless to me.
I suppose his immediate thought was Lucille ( his best friend’s daughter) could be in there. From a professional standpoint, he was wrong, but sometimes people act without thinking.
we were hardy people in old days, i use to play in falling down houses and rubbish dumps, still fit as a fiddle at 70 and most of my comrades, everything is so exagerated today , that the stress will kill ya before you get to twenty
The lovely, wonderful Valerie sensibly wanting to save her children because the house next door has collapsed, and her horrendous idiot husband sneering at her and trying to make her feel stupid.
Jack Walker makes me feel all warm and safe he’s so gorgeous bless him
same as,
Ted " One day it 'its you. You see yourself, and you're an old man. Its then you realise life's passed you by. You're on your way out."
Albert ( who's older). " I got up feeling relatively 'appy. Thanks for that."

which begs the question, how is a house the width of a park bench
@@stevek6432 the bench didn't go the whole width it was just placed in the middle
@@Stephen_Reid thanks, i was pretty young when it was on tv, i just remember a bench between the hosues
@@stevek6432 your welcome I wasn't even alive when the bench was there I was born after the new Number 7 was built
So sad when Ted Bates leaves the Street😢😢😢

Dad’s army wad awesome tv show!

It's a different Mr. Wormold to the one who fleeced Stan and Hilda when they bought the house.

im surprised there was no sign of hilda or ena, both nosy old biddies at the best of times
Private Walker (James Beck) as the copper.
Didn't they have a fire brigade in those days?. House collapses into the street and all that turns up is a Bobby.
Thought uncle Albert owned his house,
2:20 albert's lost his front room, his door is there and the door to number 3 but no front window
He's very unfortunate because the toilet doors in the Rover's lead into his kitchen.
Who lives in uncle Albert’s house now?
Ken Barlow

Len if anyone should know not to go headlong into a building that's in that condition.

Len fairclough the master of over acting.

Love classic corrie.... but the acting and fluffed lines in this ep are terrible .....🤷🏼♂️
that makes it more endearing for me
