Anne Reid's face when Len sinks the whole pint 😂😂 The more I watch these old shows I realise that Peter Adamson was a v.good actor, inspired by the bottom of the glass. I would've liked if he did something outside of Corrie, cop show would suit him
Wonder how Elsie’s have reacted to Dennis marrying Len’s widow, Rita ( who she didn’t get on with) if she’d still been alive to be Rita’s mother in law?
Rocking songs! But isn't it interesting, the second song is about vows being broken and a relationship ending. So much for the wedding music! It was always so funny, when they tried to weave an artist they were trying to promote in with a story. Thank you for posting!
What I don’t get about this episode-why did Ena go to the wedding of someone she hardly knew (Jerry) to someone she didn’t know at all (Myra) when no one was speaking to her? The way Ken and Val got up from one side of her, and Len and Minnie got up from the other side at the reception said it all!
Her role in the neighborhood meant she attended all weddings, funerals and and whatever, wether people wanted her there or not. She was part of the fabric and had to be invited. In very close knit communities back then it was what people did, it was called respect. Seems comical now that you'd invite someone to your wedding when you hardly knew them and they didn't want you there but felt obliged to go.
Who'd smashed the vestry? It has to be someone who knew what Ena had done, and the one I suspect (because he was being the most openly aggressive to her, and he disappeared early and Harry didn't know where he'd gone) is that Len Fairclough! Whoever it was, that was going too far!
Haha, loved the Beatles suit, haven't seen those in yonks. Great episode, thanks again.
What a great episode and so ''swinging'' - loved the Beatle-esque group.
Same day I was born..love the old Corrie 😊

I wondered this the first episode she was in, staying with Dennis.
Ahh the old collarless Beatles suit that was all the rage in 1963
'I'll do things I'm sorry for - the only things I enjoy.' Peter Adamson must have relished delivering that line.
Elsie improved with age,
Linda Biggs absolutely not and the worst acting ever: so overrated!
My absolute favourite!
Elsie was great, a real star. Still got a rainsmeared autographed promo pic when she opened colne carnival in early 60s.

The smiling woman in the crowd at 9:54 seems pleased she has done a cameo in Corrie.
What did mrs Sharples do to get the cold treatment from everybody?
Jerry looks like a young Craig Tinker...
Except that the Jerry actor could act, and...
Ty so much for uploading these episodes great fan from nz here ❤
Myra - played by the brilliant Susan Jameson, wife of James Bolam.
Written by HV Kershaw, on of the show's most brilliant ever writers.
Peter Adamson and William Roache were only a year or two apart in age, yet Len was 15 years older than Ken!
The cheesy Beatles suit's. Are on the money. Not British here but I find this soap a good reflection of it's era.
And the Beatles have arrived..! This must have been the first Fabs mention on Corrie?
Ene reminds me of miss trunchbull off miltda
Isn't the family harmony between the Hewitts wonderful?😂😂
@Coronation Street Storyline Peter Susan annnnnnd..?

Ena- lost a bob and found a h’penny 😂

That's what made Len a perfect candidate for being the mayor, He Pulled no punches, looked after his own interests and was single minded
Kind of thing Len would have done, surprised he didn't actually just land one on ena right there and then.
ive not seen this one its a nice surprise 😊😊😊 whats wrong with Ena that nobody talking to her 🤔🤔🤔
10/10❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What does Martha Longhurst mean when she says that the church is far too high for her?
Too Church of England
@tonyboloni64 How do you mean?
Cheers.
So according to Elsie, it'd be nicer of Dennis in the long run to refuse to be Jerry's best man? 😂😂😂
Oh how awful - all Enas lovely old ornaments smashed to smitherines
Poor Ena. Whatever she’d done, she didn’t deserve to come home to that!
Who did it, tho? Next episode’s missing...
Wow he was really thirsty!!
What happened with Jerry and Myra's marriage?
She ran up so many debts and didn't really love him. To cut a long story short Jerry divorced her and Myra ended up single in Birkenhead.
Them arseholes with their confetti - some poor buggers gotta hoover that lot up - and dont get me started on party poppers and glitter
Confetti is banned from most places now.
Jerry Booth was a tad on the chubby side back then, eh!
Andy O'Neill didn’t bother him for long as he died soon after
The sound of caldwells voice could make me run for the hills...so extremely annoying and irritating 😒🙄
Elsie: the worst overrated actor ever
