I can't say that's true. Persecution takes many forms and isn't just the most severe level (torture and murder). Christians who pray outside abortion clinics can be jailed thanks to the FACE act. A Christian Baker was sued for not making a cake for a gay wedding. Many Christian Hospitals, Nuns, etc, have had to legally fight for the right to not be forced to pay for abortions and birth control, and for the right to not perfirm abortions at the Christian Hospitals. Some awful Christian Hospital recently succumbed and allowed abortions at their hospital because of legal reasons. The culture is going in a direction of hatred towards Christian beliefs. Many people react with hostility towards the teachings of Jesus, even in America.
