I agree with you. I go to a Christian private and have been all my life. It's just I don't feel I grew closer to God. We were always taught that other worldviews are out to attack us and that science is wrong about evolution and all that stuff. My school has done a poor job at preparing students for the outside world. It's teaching that because we are Christians it makes us extra special.

You, who are faithful to Christ, do you not think that you, too, are sinners in the Eyes of God? Don’t you, too, want to salvage your souls?
Sin will always stand between you and God. *Every single soul, including the most hardened sinner and those amongst you who are chosen souls, will never be free from sin until I come again.* You may be redeemed every time you confess your sins, but your soul will remain cleansed for only a short time.
Never feel you are not in need of the Food of Life. *My Light draws you, now, to Me, through this very special Mission.* I give you great blessings and special graces when you respond to My call, as I beckon you towards My New Kingdom - My New Paradise.

We were always taught that other worldviews are out to attack us and that science is wrong about evolution and all that stuff. I mean the fact the disciples who were Jews died for the gospel of Jesus's death and resurrection like what did they have to gain from making up this story, nothing at all.Not to mention they were 100s of kilometres apart but managed to recall the same account, if they were making it up that would've been impossible. Paul himself was persecuting and killing Christian's and for some reason he became Christian after seeing Jesus.
