Notice in all of the Persona media, Elizabeth only mentions that she wants to "save" the P3 Protagonist, not "revive" him or bring him back to life. I think the idea behind Elizabeth's quest is to free him from the burden of being The Great Seal, and let his soul finally be at rest.
Yep. "our boy" (makoto) isnt resting in peace.. he is.. for all eternity stuck in that state.. his body is already dead (i assume) but.. his soul cant.. reincarnate.. thats sad :T (i totally hope that elizabeth find a way to free him! )

Considering Egor may have to retir from his role as the Master of the Velvet room due to how weakened he is in P5 and that his voice actor is now dead. Maybe P3 Protagonist becomes the new Master of the Velvet room.

Well, "being saved" was a neutral phase at this point. Revive him would ruin the whole message of P3 as some people said, and I understand why they're not gonna use the phase "revive" is because just in case if they wanna wrote some more stories about him being saved, they could kill him so the P3 message won't get ruined (I think)
Door-kun returning in 3 games just like how jesus came back after 3 days would be really cool.

I will never understand people claiming bringing Minato back will "Ruin the message of Persona 3" The message was already sent, we got it, we learned it, that's all there is to it. With that message sent, they're free to do whatever they want with the P3 cast. It's not like bringing Minato or Shinjiro back will retroactively alter the message. No one's gonna look at that and assume Persona 3 was trying to tell us, "Make the most of the life so when death comes you can accept it UNLESS your hot blue Velvet Room GF can bring you back to life after the fact."
Shinji is probably going to die from the meds he was taking so having him survive doesnt really change much
As to Chidori, she loses her memories, so the Chidori Junpei knew (and the one who fell in love with him) is as good as gone.
Door-kun is a more delicate case, but considering that he has been a door for around 7 years (at the time of p5), him coming back shouldn't ruin the game, as his friends have already moved on and kept living. It's a bit iffy when you just say "shinji, chidori and door die except they don't", but considering the context atlus put to justify those decisions, its more acceptable
I think p3 dude will only return as a soul and not human with flesh and bone maybe elizabeth make him her special persona or even ask igor to turn him into velvet residsnts, would be cool if in p6 we meet him as a igor bodyguard or something.. After event of p5 they really need a bodyguard

The whole point of death is to let your soul rest. However, the P4U games suggest that he's serving as the seal that locks away Nyx from entering the world.
If you think about it, Makoto/Minato isn't resting. His soul is still alive, just guarding the door. So...it would mean that P3's story still....isn't complete?
I might be running off a tangent, but these are just my thoughts.
Also....with Elizabeth, she's bestowed with the Fool arcana...I think she'll eventually complete her goal, just like how Aegis did in P3A, how Minako did in P3P, how Makoto/Minato did in P3, how Yu/Souji did in P4 and P4G, and how Ren/Akira did in P5/P5R.

Joker never really completed his because even though he has the world he is still consider a fool being that his ultimate and secondary persona are all of fool because his journey is never complete.
@@lostkingdom266 while that is true, I do believe that it is fitting that Ren/Akira's ultimate personas were from the fool arcana. That just means that he is still able to continue the journey of life without fear of feeling lost or caged in, like how he did in the beginning. He is still a fool, but a fool that won't ever find himself lost or caged yet again (if we ignore strikers lol)
If we're gonna compare makoto/minato's story in persona to Jesus' story in the bible, it's still not done. We're still at black Friday and makoto still hasn't resurrected/went to the afterlife. If that's the case, then yes persona3 is not yet done
With that, I'm hoping that the next persona game will focus more on persona3's continuation of the story. The MC will be none other than the group involved in the things that happened in p3.
And personally, I would love it if it's yukari because of the bond she has made with makoto during the events in persona3. And the fact that out of all three of them (aigis, Elizabeth, and yukari), she's the only one who hasn't gotten the fool arcana yet

Elizabeth treads a dangerous path, she reminds me of the Nephilim, fallen angels that fell in love with humans and begot half-angel children. For their crimes they were banished from heaven, and I fear the same thing happening to Elizabeth. Falling in love with a human isn't a crime per se, but even Theodore mentioned that he would be punished if he dallied with the FeMC for too long, and he broke off the relationship out of fear of forgetting his duties. Presumably Velvet Room attendants are supposed to remain more or less detached from their "guests". They can form bonds with them, but it seems like Igor frowns on them getting too close. Which is kinda sad, but makes sense I guess. If a Velvet Room attendant were to become overly attached to a human they might neglect their responsibilities and have a hard time saying goodbye to them at the end of the story. It seems like Igor makes it a rule not to interfere too much with human lives, apart from granting various individuals special abilities and allowing them access to various persona-related functions within the Velvet Room. Speaking of, why does Igor need assistants? Near as I can tell, he is capable of performing all the same things himself and I believe he handles fusion personally (except for Persona 5 because that wasn't really Igor).
Hmm, now I have to wonder also what Velvet Room attendants do in their free time? Like, when they're waiting for the protagonist to come to the Velvet Room or after the game is completed and they're no longer needed, what do they do? Judging by the flashback with Margaret it seems like Velvet Room attendants have other responsibilities besides administering to the player. And I wonder also if new Velvet Room attendants are created each time a new Wild Card awakens to their persona? If so, I wonder why? Why not just reuse old attendants? Why bother creating new ones? And who creates these new attendants? Igor? And what about Morgana? He's not a Velvet Room attendant but he is kind of a resident of the Velvet Room, I assume Igor created him as well before Yaldabaoth came and fucked him up. Too many questions! XD
Since you are so curious, have you ever played the older persona games? This might interest you *light spoilers for Persona 1 and 2* In Persona 1 and 2 there are many velvet room residents different from the siblings we've seen in P3, P4 and P5. Belladona, Nameless, the Demon Painter (who's actually human himself, and not an avatar of power like the velvet siblings). All Persona users in the P1 and P2 party were able to visit the Velvet room then, and even some non persona users under certain circumstances (like, the Persona users would ask Igor to help with a curse and bring the victim right there to him). I would like it if future games explained a bit why starting P3 the Velvet room has so many rules with everything, people say it's because Philemon is long gone or too weak so Igor does what he can with what he has left.
All the others ex companions seems to have forgotten him, but Elizabeth is adamant in dedicating her life to save him regardless of the consequences to her, this is the closest we will ever be from a romance between an attendant and a human. Basically canon as well.
None of them have forgotten him, they all forged an unbreakable bond.
But just like in real life it's not healthy to always look back at the past, it's fine to think about it sometimes but you gotta move on at some point.
With P3 Remake supposedly leaked in development, I hope they delve deeper into this storyline since they’ve basically confirmed Elizabeth has the fool arcana now

@@xenolation2362 I think the person who leaked all the current Persona ports to PC also revealed that they were in development of a Persona 3 either remake or reboot, with Persona 5’s game engine ALONG with the new Persona 6.
I would take it with a grain of salt, but with the current trend of remaking classics same with FF7R and Persona becoming more popular to the Western audience, I personally believe it.

I swear P3 protagonist’s D was life changing for her. Fun fact in the last story scene with her, if you play her story. You and her have some fun in bed(yes it’s exactly what it’s implying). She said to P3 Protagonist that if she stayed in our world she would get to attached. So she returned to her duty instead of hanging out with Him more. This must’ve played in some sort of big regret in her heart.

Now that I think about it, aren't the velvet room attendants like a thousand years old and their quests are like 16? Isn't that kind of illegal?
To me personally P3 story wasn't finished back then. Like P3 cast said "he" will come back someday. There was never a message to begin with, there is a chance that P3 will have a sequel considering the ending. I love P3 story, character and i do hope seeing them once again in P6 or probably an official crossover between P4 and P5 different from spinoff like Q and Arena.
I'm hoping that P6 is Elizabeth's story. It makes enough sense if you consider it from its JoJo's parallel sense. Persona sequels & JoJo's parts tend to parallel each other because of the close friendship between the series' creators so if the pattern continues, then Elizabeth could be 6's protagonist.

The velvet room was created by philemon to guide all persona users,though it got downgraded to just wild cards when Philemon decided to go on vacation or whatever he did after Eternal Punishment. As for what Philemon is and where he came from and what opposes him you'll have to play persona 2 to see this.

@@sigmaenjoyer7020 Well Teddie got the persona cuz even if he's a shadow he developes his own personality and problems, and trying to refuse the fact that he's a shadow created his own Persona at the time he faces himself. I think Teddie is not a shadow anymore, not certain of what it is, but not a 100% shadow.
I have a possible theory on how Elizabeth could free his soul. Elizabeth's goal is to free his soul from being the wall. Whether this means she wants to bring him back to life, or wants to allow his soul to move on, im not quite sure. HOWEVER, and this is just a theory. What if she(or from what many people speculate, the phantom thieves) could convince the populace as a whole, to give up a year or so off of their own life span. Or maybe even select few(teammates and social links) to give up some of their life force to help create another wall. This would also come to serve as another lesson of self sacrifice by shortening their lifespan by a few years. That way nobody has to be the door. It will be made out of the willpower of humanity itself. Humanity is the one who beckoned to erebus, so humanity could in theory be the one to help keep erebus at bay. This would allow the mc to be released from his bounds into return to the sea of souls.
And then there's another outcome which i hope they dont actually do. Elizabeth would simply sacrifice herself and become the door. Though i'm not quit sure if such a thing is achievable by her. While she is very powerful this seemed like something only the protag could have done. Something special about him and his persona maybe.
Without P3 protagonist, the p4 and p5 cast wouldn't have their lives so insane.
People arguing about what’s possible and impossible when it’s literally fiction that can be twisted by the creators however they want
Only bad writers put in nonsensical twists that come out of nowhere and make no sense.
People theorizing and talking, long after a book has been closed is a good sign that a story is good. And when their theories are proven wrong but still something that could have been predicted. That's a sign of a good writer.
Some people are asshats and never truly invest in anything, moving on to the next fad or book as soon as they finish the last, but that's fine. No one will and should judge and tell you how to and not to enjoy what is in the end, entertainment.

I mean some people say that Elizabeth saying how she wants to save him means she wants to put him to rest and freeing him from his torment but he is sleeping as the seal and isn't in any real pain not to mention that there is no way she would dedicate all this time to defeating Erebus for good only to never be able to him again.
Another thing people say is how his body is gone so he can't come back however the velvet room attendants, Teddie and Morgana all originated from the collective unconscious and were not born with physical bodies. I mean Teddie is a shadow yet he is able to gain a human body same with Morgana getting a cats body in he human world. The P3 protagonist getting a new body is not a stretch in the least since we've seen it happen before not to mention that they is literally the strongest persona protagonist and that with the universe Arcana nothing is beyond the realm of possibility for them.
just because his persona is Jesus does not mean he will have 100% fate or story, even Kasumi story does not 100% resemble Cinderella, there is still a twist here and there.

I’m here because I just finished p3r and damn that ending hurt. I’m honestly glad they gave us this to us because the thought of MC just dying and everyone being forced to move on without him sucks. Even though we likely won’t ever know if Elizabeth succeeds or in what capacity if she does it at least makes me happy to know that she cares enough to try. Still sad he didn’t even get to say goodbye to the p3 characters tho 😢

@@theadmiral4157No, with each sequence new characters and protagonists are created for the new plot of the story, if the protagonist was someone from a previous game this would be "uninteresting", and well all the protagonists are students/teenagers so it would be impossible to be any member of the playable characters from p1/p2/p3/p4, they are old now. BUT Minato's destiny and ending could be related to the final boss of persona 6, such as Nyx being released into the real world, after Elizabeth's plan works... and maybe even as a bonus Minato could be in the future a velvet room attendant

Opening it may have some repercussions. I just hope the world is ready to face it. Once it happens, makoto/minato's revival will ring the bells of judgement. If they survive, we will get a happy ending for makoto/minato and the others

I hope Persona 6 would cover this up. Saving Makoto using either Yu or Ren as the MC OR we can use Kotone as the MC too you know or we can use new MC and new friend with the old cast helping the new comers save Makoto and prevent whatever calamity gonna come next.

even sadder is the fact that erebus can never be removed cause its only natural that humans grieve and think negatively. so elizabeth will be trying to find a way to save minato for eternity with probably no success.
True however the situation was caused by the hands of a few. Not by the entirety of humanity. Some want to live and some want to die why should the desire of death be the one who decides?
Imagine Elizabeth recruites the previous persona main characters and save the p3 MC
That would be dope considering all of them have strong bonds with makoto/minato and more or less would want him to stay if not because of The Fall
He soon was awoken two years after Persona 4 Arena Ultimax story(2012). He was able to be alive again because he was somehow saved by Elizabeth. Elizabeth used the power she has to separate the life of Makoto Yuki by half. Half of Makoto's life is used at the great seal and the other half is being transfered to Makoto's real body. Due to this event, Makoto couldn't be called that he's totally alive, he's half-dead/half-alive. Aside of being half-alive, he's also ageless means whenever he's having a birthday, he'll always be 21 years old. By the time he was resurrected/awaken, his body was in Tatsumi Memorial Hospital, under the care of Kirijo Group in the hand of his old comrade, Mitsuru Kirijo.
Apparently, him being half-alive gives him several disadvantages. First, he didn't have physical condition as good as he used to be. Second, due to his 'bad' physical condition, he tried to maintain his stamina as long as he could especially about summoning his persona. The power of the wild card has not gone yet, but since changing many personas will only make his power drains faster, he mainly uses 3 Personas; Thanatos, Messiah, and Orpheus Telos.
Since he wanted to repay Elizabeth's deed, he watched over the world, trying to keep away mankind's wishes of calling forth Erebus as the payment.
Being not fully guards the seal makes another disadvantage for Makoto. Sometimes, the Dark Hour will come unexpectedly in random times because of the leaking from the seal. Although the tartarus is no longer there, the shadows will sometimes be seen roaming on the road and needs to be exterminated. The signal of the coming of the Dark Hour will be shown by Makoto himself such as, uncontrollable heartbeat and anything that will make Makoto's body weakened.

Just finished P4G and saw Margarette dialogue about Elizabeth, so that means in future persona that might be sequel for P3 story Elizabeth might become the enemy? She wants to release the mc on seal that means releasing Nyx and we all know it's the end of the world if Nyx got released.

Now that Persona 3 Reload is out a new theory is that Makoto having the Universe Arcana managed to free himself and rewrite his own story, and that's why he was so exhausted at the end of Reload and why the SEES were disconnected from him and Aegis because the power of the bonds wasn't being drained anymore
The real reason Makoto sacrificed himself is so he could stop hearing that damned velvet room song, otherwise Igor would've done it himself.
What if in persona 6 your trying to save Makoto Yuki along side Aigas and before you enter the final boss room you hear in the background “velvet oh velvet, Makoto I have found you”

Persona 6 would actually be the perfect game to bring Elizabeth's journey into life, and see our boy Makoto alive once more. He deserves a happy ending after all he went through. In a way, it would be cool if the cast had it's own original members, but also had members from the previous 3, 4 and 5 games. Imagine Joker and Yu helping Elizabeth bringing our boy Messiah back. The last battle, Elizabeth, Ren, Yu and Makoto together in a fight against Nyx. The 4 Fools against the voices of Humanity.
I'm not sure if they would dedicate her subplot to a new Persona game, though, since usually every Persona story is meant to stand alone. Also, it just doesn't make sense for her to be the MC; she was already strong from the start, lol, unless they create a story where her power resets to 0 again or she loses her memories. But pretty sure this won't be the last time we hear her story.
