With Reload coming, I think its a good time to talk about Atlus having a habit of changing their games endings. And there is tons of evidence! So spoilers for all these Atlus games, but its worth taking a look at. Thank you all so much for watching! Consider subscribing because I have a lot more coming. Also, this thing was a pain to write and edit. Mostly because there is so much information in these games.

I feel like the answers is where so many people got the “he has to die or else it will ruin the themes!” idea, and I kind of see a flaw in that logic. The themes aren’t about embracing death, it’s about seeing the beauty of life through death. Nyx was the one telling SEES to embrace death, while SEES was fighting for their future, for life. Makoto didn’t die for the message of embracing death, he did it because he valued life
But Atlus also kept teasing that Elizabeth is going to bring him back. The idea has been there since P4. It’s time Altus
Makoto deserved better…

My biggest hope for persona 3 reload is an arc dedicated to Elizabeth's attempts at saving makoto and freeing him from being the seal
I think when the game was originally written they didn’t expect it to still be relevant 18 years later. I’ll make an update video hopefully with a new true ending!
No. That absolutely ruins the entire message of the game.
@@sanjixalv6956 we already know that Elizabeth is on a journey to save makoto, so I don't see a problem with them having doing that

Alot of people loudly claim that Makoto being saved in any way would ruin P3 and ive always hated that logic. Because p3 wasnt just saying “death is inevitable, and you will die too” it was “death comes for us all, so we must appreciate the beauty of life and those around us”
Makoto sacrificing himself wasnt just “he had to die eventually, so this is his acceptance of that” it was also “makoto has learned to appreciate the world he lives in, and in order to protect it and his new found family, he happily gives up his life to preserve them.”
AND his journey affected Elizabeth, completely changing her existence and showing HER the beauty of life and humanity, so for her to eventually come back and free him from the seal would make it a beautiful full circle theme. EVEN if she frees him and he just dies anyways, and EVEN if she takes his place (what i think would happen).
it would still align with the themes of P3 AND also giving it a hopeful spin which i personally think is very valuable in times where the world actually feels like it’s dying in front of our eyes.
(Sidenote, major disagree about femc’s absence being fine, its really just an excuse on atlus’s part to not have her in the remake, considering its already been built from the ground up.)
Yes! Also I didn’t think about the possibility of losing Elizabeth. But I’m hoping they made the decision to change the ending like all their other games. And for the fem mc, that’s ok to be attached to her. My experience with p3p was different. As I was disappointed I couldn’t run around with my hands in my pockets and play the equivalent to fes on my psp.
You know a lot of people like to boil P3s motife down to "life and death" but I don't. I look to the social links to find the common denominator among all them. So to me, since not all the social links contain death, what I see is something like "having the strength to accept that which you cannot change while having the courage to keep moving forward" or simply "perseverance"
yeah i agree, he finally finds the meaning to life and helps people with so many of their problems. I feel like after understanding that life is worth living, he should at least get to be happy :((
I doubt they’ll make a new “true ending”, based on interviews it sounds more like they’re going for a faithful remake of the og persona 3
I’m still hoping for a new ending. But that’s me wanting Makoto to live after grinding through Tatarus

I think they will expand the ending.everything after 3 tells the mc is alive but he has to hild the gates closed.maybe instead of the answer,we could get something that shows us trying to free him

P3 Reload has not changed anything but made it even more sadder
I had been avoiding watching the ending. Still playing it. I’m shocked that they’re remaking the answer. Mostly interested if they’ll have that disintegration scene 💀
Persona 3 broke me and then rebuilt me by making me realize the fragility and most important things in life. It will always have a special place in my heart
Which one did you play? Was it p3, fes, p3p, or reload? I didn’t play the original, but started with FES
@@duskkoala All minus vanilla. My favorite was undoubtedly FES. It’s the truest vision of the game in my opinion

Elizabeth's VA is the same as og P3 Elizabeth. Many theorize she's the same Elizabeth and traveled back in time or to another universe to save Makoto. Lets hope she succeeds! 😁

lol I’m Not Ok! Same year the game was released. But the game takes place in 09’.
I don't think we'll be able to save the Persona 3 MC but it wouldn't surprise me if in a later game he can be summoned as a persona himself. Like Elizabeth took a small bit of the seal and crafted it into that persona.
I had it spoiled for me. But maybe they’ll change the answer? After they denied they were going to remake it. I also really liked the fan art that people made of Makoto as a velvet room attendant.
@@duskkoalaI kind of had a what if moment of maybe Theodor is Makoto as that attendant and Marie from Persona 4 Golden is the FeMC. Definitely a head cannon explanation but I think I could except that.
The P3 protagonist. Greek Tragedy really does cut like 100 blades, doesn't it? Such a cruel fate in the Answer, the P3 protagonist is paying for his "Innocent sin" with an "Eternal Punishment" as another once said.
It’s one of those games where you spend so much time with the character only for you to not survive. ༼ ༎ຶ ෴ ༎ຶ༽ I just finished Jisatsu and feel more annoyed at the ending
@@duskkoalaThey subtly elude to his fate at the very start of the game. Greek Tragedy often inform the audience of the conclusion early on. The audience is humbly asked to see the journey of how the protagonist will bring about his own downfall in an ironic manner. We relate to, even sympathize with the protagonist. But we know from the start that the protagonist truly is his own worst enemy. P3's theming was Greek mythology for that very reason.
But as you said in this video, Elizabeth might have the means to save him from suffering for all eternity. P3 was the game that saved Atlus from bankruptcy, and the reward for it's protagonist is a fate worse than death. I'd like to see the P3 protagonist be saved, or at the very least, put to rest.

No they can't bring him back to life here, in a later sequel post p4au/p5 maybe.
I think they’re going to omit p3 fes, p3p, and the p4au with this new release. I’m curious to know if they’re going to change they year it takes place too
@@duskkoala they can't omit p4au because some of it's elements are referenced in p5r/pq2/p4d
Omitting it would result in a mess for p4 timeline and future installments for p4/few p3 casts.
especially the two spinoff chars that has pasts which are highly tied to p3.
The only way to write a rescue arc is to add a massive timeskip post p5r/p5s, which is massively a big work and needs to be its own game at that point.
So yeah, grounded writing isn't easy😅
(Also im with you with ignoring p4au because i don't like it but it's very highly unlikely).

p3d is vague but it generally occured sometime in January, which is no problem because p3 January is practically empty aside from few interactions at the first week and last. Inconsequential.
This is a result of aigis SL being dedicated to this month because of her arc and ultimate persona resulting in her developing a fully fledged ego.
p5d on the other hand can get away with, but that was the result of being in production the same time as pq2/p5r.
p4d occurred a month after p4g golden epilogue.
