Disappointed with Thuma Bed beware

- Problem 1: Purchased thuma bed in a king size and the pillow board is one size fits all. It doesn’t run the width of the king size bed and is likely made for a queen bed.
Problem 2: the pillow board is very short and does not sit high enough. We should have bought the Thuma bolsters for an extra $45 bucks but you shouldn’t have to since all of the Thuma bedroom photos are most likely using bolsters already. So now I have to buy Thuma bolsters.

I get it, we sometimes do not pay attention to the details when purchase things and are surprised when we receive them. However, from the pictures alone on the website, you can tell that the pillow board is short nor does it comes to edge. This was expected from the advertisement.

Agreed, I could see that myself, the headboard model has an edge to edge headboard. I'm not sure what they were looking at when they ordered.
In other words, you want to complain, but not realize you were the one at fault here, not thuma. @@evantugby

FYI, they sell a bolster pillow to raise the pillow board, but I think it’s a waste of money. I also have a Purple mattress and I just bought two cheap yoga blocks and put it under the pillow board. Problem solved and I didn’t have to spend $45 on the bolster pilllows
The point is to help others see the pillow board is a one size fits all, runs smaller width than the king size bed and also requires the bolsters to make it sit taller.
the pillowboard is not one-size fits all. it's a design choice on the part of the maker, it would look weird if it went all the way out to the edges of the bed frame. I have a full size bed frame and it looks the same...and I don't think we have the same size pillowboard.
as for the height, yeah it's kinda frustrating, but they do sell an overpriced pillow block to make it taller.
They do have a great return policy...
That’s what those hooks are for on the back of the headrest. You can hang it on the wall so the contrast in with between the headrest and the bed frame is not so obvious!
Interesting enough I also have a Purple Plus mattress (in King) and was thinking about getting the Thuma for it! I would get the bolsters but this is good to know. I can understand the disappointment.
If you wanted it raised and sturdy you should’ve paid the extra and gotten the headboard and cushion option
I have a queen sized thuma bed with a purple mattress 3. It’s the same for us. I believe they sell foam cubes with the same material as the headboard on their website.
Yep, "Bolsters." $45 These folks didn't do any research. Just went to the internet to complain.
The pillowboard is only listed at only 73 inches wide... sadly that information is only visible when buying the pillowboard by itself and not when buying it with the bed.
Pillowboard aside though, how's the bed itself? This warning seems deeply rooted in an add on and not the actual bed itself.

You clearly didn’t look at the pictures of this mattress man, that pillow board always sits low unless/even if you do a thin mattress such as the one they offer….

It sits the way it was designed to sit. As for the width I don't understand if its really one size fits all. I would imagine its the wrong one.
Nothing on the package suggests it comes in different sizes.

I thought the same thing and once I put pillows and comforter on the bed I couldn’t tell. They also make a bumper to put under the headboard.

I see that now but my wife thinks all the lengths for the pillow board are shorter than the width of the bed you order.
Maybe pay more attention to what your ordering because they clearly show that’s how it fits in the pictures. You should have also bought the WOODEN HEADBOARD THAT COMES WITH THE CUSHIONS ATTACHED TI IT THAT ELEVATE THEM! Also show in the website very clearly. Can’t imagine posting A video complaining about your own stupidity and negligence thinking it’s the company’s fault

@@evantugby Id say if you wanted to help others, maybe include in the video that if you're looking for a proper height and width headboard, buy the wooden headboard option so that others don't have to make the same mistake you did. They don't do a great job of explaining some of this. It also looks like there is an option to attach it to the wall. I ending up getting the headboard.

I just loooked at their website and you can see in the photos it doesn't go edge to edge. I think that should have been obvious from the photos. The other styles they offer look like the headboard goes edge to edge. If you wanted edge to edge headboard, you should have ordered the Headboard model.

It’s not a queen size. It’s not one size fits all. They didn’t send you the wrong one.
Queen size mattresses are 60 inches wide while king are 76. That’s a difference of 16 inches.
No way it’s a queen. Otherwise it would stick out about 3 -4 inches wider than the entire width of the bed frame itself.
The pillow board is designed to be the same width as your a standard mattress. Yours just appears to be a couple inches short on each side.
It just appears it’s not precision craftsmanship.
I built my own bed a couple moths ago. I recently was fortunate enough to see a Thuma bed in a client’s home. It’s a good looking bed but I’m not impressed with the craftsmanship. Mine is much cleaner, solid wood (no finger jointed rails), legs are 4.5 inches wide and just all around beefier with 2 legs for my center support and my castle joints are much more precise and fit snug.
But mine is hand made (with the final precision cuts made it’s hand saw, bench plane, and chisels) while I’m certain they mass produce each piece.
Of course if I built one for a client I would sell it for no less than $3000. Maybe a little less with a little more proficiency.
@@tatianabritton6258 I do see they sell different sizes now but I don’t see dimensions to measure the length of ours. My wife believes the length of the pillow boards all run short of the width of each bed you buy.

@@evantugby I'd just go spend the extra money and get the actual headboard. Return that. Did research before picking between the two back boards. Those pillow boards just seem silly and it cheapens the look of the whole frame
I get your frustration on that pillow board. Any reputable company should list dimensions on every item in their product line. That pillow board go line up end to end. If the company is not doing that then shame on them. Also that bed should be taller too. Way too low.

Yeah, it seems like everything this guy is complaining about could have been identified ahead of time if he had done his research.
You can clearly see in the pictures that the corners of the bed being visible is part of the design, they intended it to be like this and the buyers didn't pay attention to the photos much. It's really their fault. I just love his whiny voice. lol
Be disappointed all you want, you didn't buy a traditional style bed. The pillow headboard is exactly how it was designed. Modern, low and sleek. I don't have this bed frame or headboard and I can figure that out. Not really becoming of you to complain about something that works as designed but because you aren't seeing that.

I don't see what the buzz is about these beds, they look cheap and just not good at all
I recently bought a Thuma mattress and the mattress smelled like rubber months after, as of now they are telling me that I cannot get a refund. This product is obviously defective and off gassing. DISHONEST COMPANY!
What happened, was this after the 100 day trial? Off-gassing happens with these foam mattresses, but it’s supposed to go-away after airing it out.
All the money went into the advertisement campaign. Not the design or the materials or the factory workers.
