To which Zhenji takes offense, claiming she can't forgive such "rude words". And how does he respond? "You can't forgive me? Well, that's more your problem than it is mine." From that moment, I knew this was a character I'd love to use endlessly.
Only... he's not in Dynasty Warriors. Unfortunately the content we're gonna get are only characters that have appeared in the Warriors series. Their back stories will have details from the novel, but the nuances are skipped. Still it's entertaining to look at it from the Warriors' side while providing detailed looks towards their development.

There's no proof Cao Pi forced Zhen to commit suicide except from the info we get from SGZ and we know how untrustworthy that is. And besides Shu has every right to be demonized. I know about Xu province fam, what I mean is the individual officers. For example, I dont believe Wei has anyone who's that much of a loose cannon like Gan Ning, Zhang Fei, or Ma Chao.

The Cao family is very talented. While it does not fully excuse him for trying to outright execute his family. He did have reason to be cautious of them because any one of them could think. "Huh, I think I can do this ruling thing better than Cao Pi." And it could split the force and they would be swallowed up by the likes of Shu and Wu. Still doesn't excuse him from trying to outright execute Cao Zhi and Cao Hong, Demoting Cao Xiu, and poisoning Cao Zhang. However, They were grounds for possible competition. Cao Ang would've taken over anyways, had he lived. But if Cao Ang had lived and Cao Pi took succession by some slim miracle, He most likely would've tried to kill Cao Ang.
Apparently he sent a messenger to force her to commit suicide.. but before he could change his mind, she was already dead in one story.. in another, he was present and forced her to commit suicide and she was buried with husks in her mouth and her hair in her face so she couldn't see or speak in the sfterlife.. he was a piece of shit compared to what the games show..
Cao Pi is a wonderful villian imo, his meating with Zhenji when he tells her to marry him or kill herself is really fucking disturbing. Hes kinda like Frollo in Hellfire in that scene.
It was great seeing Cao Pi getting more spotlight in DW9 and Warriors Orochi 4. I hope they don’t push him to the background again.
I think Cao Pi in the beginning of his reign was learning how to rule cause he regretted his earlier decisions but died before he could correct them.
