I like the extra warm and fuzzy of shadow system saying: "if you use out pew in a self defense and the law takes your gun for evidence, we'll give you one until you get it back"
never thought about the black smoke on the tan gunlight, you've indirectly helped me with my light decisions as well, very well made video thank you my man
You do need to change the the guide rod, either to the Radian compressor or the DPM. Your FTF are occurring because the slide has less energy going back now and it isn't able to swing all the way back with the stock spring/guide rod, thereofor causing the stovepipes and FTF. I have both both DPM and Radian compressor and it runs flawlessly on both. Thanks for the awesome video!
@@johnsalvatore97 Very slight difference so you can't go wrong with either, but the DPM feels better. The Compressor is just changing the spring weight, but the DPM has a whole different system in it.
You have to get the guide rod from radian preferably or something comparable…I’ve never seen a ramjet run 100% with the factory guide rod it’s crazy that they don’t include the spring with the 400 dollar barrel/comp package
I’ve only had one stove pipe on my G19.5 with a Herrington comp on it with 115gn ammo. If your grip is solid it runs like a top. Side note, I found the recoil impulse on my 19 with a comp way softer than my buddies xr920 with the shadow systems comp (not the p model, their thread on comp). Comps work better with hotter ammo, more gasses. Just my experience, I’m certainly no expert. All that said I do like shadow systems policy on defensive shooting pistol replacements.
Shadow systems war poet have about 80k rounds and about 7.5k rounds through it as of now with the radian ramjet afterburner. Stock inmers until 3k rounds ago. Switched to the radian spring guid rod set and really enjoyed the 13lbs spring
I own two Ramjet, love them. The P I won't invest in unless they sell me just the barrel comp separately to put on my MR920. Zero issues with my Ramjet
Not sure if that's the older RJAB comp & barrell or the newer one but I have the older one on my G19.4 and I haven't had any issues what so ever. I got the XR920P a week ago and it's a nice shooter but I'm a better shot with the G19.4 RJAB. Thanks for posting this video!
As many have stated in the comments I already had an aftermarket guide rod in my G19.4 way before getting the RJAB. That my be the reason for my experience with my set-up.
Mine did the same thing. G19 stock with apex trigger ran perfectly. I put on the ramjet combo and had instant failure to feeds, stovepipes, and failure to eject. But I do think that it’s my fault for doing it on a brand new Glock instead of breaking it in first. After about 500 rounds, and good cleaning of my extractor, and I bought new oem Glock mags. Ever since, runs like butter. Might just be a break in period. I was about to send it back too!
might have to change that recoil spring in the glock for the ramjet afterburnner for it to run better. not sure if thats the case or not but i know i changed mine and i dont have any of those problems
The xr920p is way less efficient then the ramjet still reduces recoil but the ramjet has much bigger ports and works much better. The downside is that the slide doesn’t have enough momentum when cycling if you don’t have a good grip with the ramjet as seen with the limp wristing.
Great review. Your wife sure knows how to clear a jam and I don't think it's a "limp wristing" problem either because it's obvious you both know how to shoot. But I appreciate you making this video because I'm considering the mr920p.
Could be the mags not sure if the XRP is ambi but if not it could damage the stock Glock mags. Mine ran flawlessly with a stock spring, only thing I look out for is slide lock back but I have a high grip so that’s that.
Ok neither one of these are twist on / thread on comps that require “clocking” the radian has the triangular shaped muzzle to avoid misalignment and the new shadow systems comp uses a clamp with an indent on the barrel. You have to unscrew the threaded pin on the Radian and you have a small ball detent that you have to push in to open the clamp on the shadow systems. The older design shadow systems comps are thread on and secured by a clamping mechanism that is loosened or tightened by 2 set screws if I remember correctly.
Zev oz9c hypercomp shoots flatter to me. I installed the ramjet on my psa sabre dagger and it wouldnt run. Ended up installing the dpm recoil reduction system (soft) and this thing runs amazing. Just as good as my hypercomp. Going to get another dmp kit for the zev. I tried the lighter spring setup and it didnt work. Need to go heavier. Also radian does make a spring/guiderod setup. Also amend mags are trash.
Just did the same test Glock 45 radian is lighter recoil but the xr920 grip is better because it’s based off a 1911 angle As well the Xr920 is definitely lighter! I don’t mind the weight of the g45 radian but carrying I can see why you would take the lighter firearm
@@captainohsowavy I also did not have any failures using the OEM recoil and spring with 115 and 124 grain. I also switched out the OEM for the a 15 lb. NDZ recoil assembly without issue.
1500 rounds thru a G19 gen 3 with the ramjet, Not a single issue.. Either its a ammo issue or recoil spring needs to be swapped out. Side note, G19 only had about 300rds before i added the Radian ramjet.
I recently had to send my ramjet back because I was getting ejection issues. Radian sent me a new one and so far so good. Hit them up and they will take care of you
It’s the ammo. It’s been the common denominator the whole time . My ram jet has ran cheap ammo and expensive ammo (stock Glock spring). The shadow is already broke in.
Radian arms suggest you use 124gr or heavier with the Ramjet + Afterburner...if you all were shooting the 115gr or lower that would explain the issue. I don't believe you need to get the guide rod.
Was she limp wristing the gun somewhat. But I have a ramjet but i never put 115gr through it even on day 1. I only shoot 124gr and 147gr. But like in an earlier post i believe its suppose to be a hotter round for a 100 shots sorta like a break in period. If you purchase a 19x get a new ramjet and then use 124 not 124 +p for the first 100 rounds no issues. But trust the process.
I have an MR920 Elite with the Afterburner & Ramjet everything else is stock. I only shoot 115gr and I’ve had literally one stovepipe in 2000+ rounds 🤷🏾♂️
It's the spring, not the ammo. Radian tested their 40% reduction in felt recoil based on 115g, look it up. The spring needs to be lighter, so either get the Radina compressor or the DPM spring. I have them both and they run flawlessly. I haven't had a single issue with 115g or 124g. I never shot it with the ram jet and stock spring.
Yall tring hard to get that glock with the ramjet to work... The shadow system is far better gun... maybe you need a heavier guide rod on that glock,,, Shadow System All the way for me...recoil doesnt matter to me reliability is key for any gun I spend my money on!
Just like the Shadow Systems, Glock is set up from the factory to run as is. If you change something, you have to change multiple things. My Ramjet Afterburner with the DPM Systems soft spring has been 100% flawless, zero malfunctions.

Get a DPM soft captured spring. Run them in all 3 of my Ramjets. 100% Reliable and better felt recoil.
Shadow systems sells the whole assembly with a 15lb spring that I run in my mr920 with ram jet.
I run the dpm with my radian in my g19, runs so flat its not believable.
Exactly! Same here
Radian recommends their compressor guide rod with the 15 round spring
You do need to change the the guide rod, either to the Radian compressor or the DPM. No issues with mine and its got over 5000 rounds through it🤷🏻♂️
which spring do you prefer? Radian or DPM? Wondering before i purchase
@@johnsalvatore97 Very slight difference so you can't go wrong with either, but the DPM feels better. The Compressor is just changing the spring weight, but the DPM has a whole different system in it.

Agreed, it should be included if it is a known recommendation
I run mine with factory spring, but it had to be broken in with a few hundred rounds. It's in both my duty guns
You have to change the guide rod when you put the radian comp in it
I started running the ramjet on my xr920 and I didn’t have that ejection issue thankfully. Hopefully you got it fixed
I have the ramjet on my MR and DR with the stock recoil rod/spring with zero malfunctions and thousands of rounds shot
I just got the ramjet for the G47 but i did read from Radian that it runs better with 124gr
Compensators are meant for 124gr….l would assume NATO specs. Using 115 the ejection patterns are all over the place.
I’ve only had one stove pipe on my G19.5 with a Herrington comp on it with 115gn ammo. If your grip is solid it runs like a top. How does it run with the G47?
I have a 47, thinking about getting the ramjet comp kit. Do you run a stock Glock recoil spring or something else?
It's awesome that the Ladies are getting into Shooting and Training.

115 grain? It's the ammo! Comps run better with more powerful rounds.

Radian’s website says 124g.
