Any issues with stones etc. getting stuck between the wheel and caliper up front? Like these wheels, if you did it again would you consider 18x8.5 5X112 ET43 wheel with 255/55R18 tires? The additional offset and adjusted tire size would move them out a little and help keep the fronts away from the upper control arm knuckle no?
Very cool. Looks really good! I have a 2018 Macan GTS. I want another set of rims and tires that would be better for moderate off roading to reach camping spots. Porsche is a big change from Toyota 😂 Never thought I’d ever say this, but I don’t miss my old FJ or 4 runner all, just worried about banging up my new baby ❤
Yeah this has definitely been a great upgrade and perfect for that. It’s funny because I now own this car and two 4Runners an highly modified 2016 5th gen and I just bought a 2001 3rd gen and I absolutely love them. But yeah the Macan is just a great all around SUV.
Blake on these tires and rims. have you had any problems since this video? I love the set up! But someone is disagreeing with me. Do they rub anywhere?
Well it’s all wheel drive so I probably wouldn’t notice that as much. But yeah once I get some good rain I’ll definitely push it and see what happens. Definitely looking forward to hitting some snow and adding a few more mods I have planned. I know it’s definitely a different route for a Macan but not much is being done with them honestly.
So far I’m loving them. Noise isn’t that bad now. Ride is smoother than the 21 inch wheels I had. Obviously those were quite though price is about the same besides having to buy new wheels obviously. I took the old wheels in the snow and there was no grip so it will make an amazing winter setup also. Can’t wait to do a bit more to tie it together.
Got these exact wheels and tires, even went with some spacers, but these won’t fit on a Macan S 2017 for some reason. Must be the non-air suspension. Just a heads up for anyone looking. (Edit) Actually the tire rack link matches a wrong size tire. That’s where my problem was. Waiting for new tire to come in now. 265/65 vs 265/60
@@BlakesGarage No worries! 265/60R18 worked like a charm, thanks! I ended up returning the Flat 6 spacers I got though, couldn't get them to fit... will probably get the H&R at some point...But for now, enjoying the new setup!
Hard to say I’m not sure if the rotors are larger or if the calipers are. But honestly I’d go to a salvage yard and get steel brakes then sell the PCCB’s cuz I wouldn’t want to pay 8k + to replace them when they wear out. 😬
I’m looking heavily to getting a macan turbo jus like this one could u do a review of the car as an owner before you go into the build I would be curious to see the before vs after as well
I definitely can! I actually fined something comparing it to the Q5 probably two years ago now and never edited it. I’ll try to do a video on that in the future for sure.
@@BlakesGarage that would be perfect I’m just on the border if I should get a macan turbo or a 440/340 I don’t want to go into a f8x it’ll be too much ownership cost the macan turbo doesn’t even seem more than a 440 to own from what I’ve looked into
@@trooper_f30 Yeah if you’re gonna do a BMW I just pay the extra for the M. But I think the Macan turbo is well worth the value of things haul ass. They handle extremely well for an SUV and you can have a ton of fun with them on back roads. Plus they have all the other versatility.
Thanks so much for sharing. I’ve got a 2017 Macan GTS that I want to mod for some mild off-roading. I’m finding there are limited mods for now. I think I’ll be following your lead on the rims/wheels. Any updates on the spacers? Again thanks for leading the way in this space! I greatly appreciate it.
@@BlakesGarage thanks for the reply. Did you go for the 30mm? I follow you on insta also, would you mind dropping a pic there? Again, greatly appreciate all you’re doing!
Hey Blake, Did you get rid of you Macan? I haven't seen too much of it, on the channel lately. Of course I haven't been on your channel in a while either. Just thought I'd ask if there was an update on it, and I somehow missed it.. Thanks
Nope still have it but it was at the dealership for like a year getting its PDK replaced. Was 38k worth of parts and labor luckily we had a warranty still so it cost us $500. Issue with the trans engagement honestly had the issue from when we originally bought it but just kept getting worse and now it’s all good. Need to do an update video for sure.
It's been really good. I did buy this one through Carmax so I could get the warranty. They are super expensive for repair work at the dealership but mine has been pretty good. Only big issue was somehow IDK maybe from a bunch of launches I had bent the front axels and it was causing a vibration. Besides that and a simply coolant expansion tank fix I did its been great. I highly recommend picking one up. Definitely the best SUV on the Market in its size.
I've got a 2017 Macan S. Bought it used with 42k (Milwaukee) miles on it. Now has over 80k with autocross, mild off-roading, lots of towing, and lots of high speed long distance interstate runs. Just had to replace the brakes around 75k miles. They are "known" for breaking bolts on the timing cover resulting in leaks on the front of the engine, but so far *knock on wood* ours has been great. PDK is holding up strong. Interior and suspension feel like a pretty new (10-20k mile) car, not an 80k mile one.
Wow what really?? That is weird, On the American tire website they had two variants of the tires and I think tire rack only had one so maybe that's why. Tire rack was actually pretty amazing. They called me right after I placed the order to tell me about the backorder and then I just called back to cancel after I got word that American Tire had them. America Tire also got them in only 3 days and I was expecting about 5.

Nice build, I like the overland look
Oh man, wasn't expecting this! Our Macan hasn't seen a lick of dirt yet, but plenty of towing.
Nice! What have you been towing? I’ll have a video on that coming soon.
Looks great. Just gave you a follow. All you’re missing is some mud flaps
Found this looking for Macan Safari. Good info.... My dreams look like your life.
Beautiful Macan! I truly don't understand why they don't come with a mild lift and KO2's!

In for this. I've got a 15 that is about to become a third or fourth car - would love to follow in your footsteps.
Curious your thoughts on ko2’s. Mine aren’t the best in the rain. Rear gets loose. But that’s also truck life. Looking forward to this!

Yo, have you got front lights and body protection yet?
Looks good bro! Could you have done like a et25 to give it a bit more clearance?
Bro this is awesome!! Stoked to follow the progress and where this takes you guys. KO2 setup looks great, interested to see how you like those 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Spacers might be nice I agree

No, if you look at the Porsche accessory website the 18" wheel setup they sell for winter states they are too small for the PCCB brakes.

@ the 30mm H&R spacers and I didn’t do anything in the front but I think you could if you wanted

No it will work the same.

Kinda weird that Tire Rack doesn't have your tires but America's Tire does since Tire Rack is owned by America's Tire?
