Zac how depressing, in 2 days I will have been working and developing my homestead, working everyday at age 66 to build my house and out buildings for a homestead to live the rest of my life on debt free... and know I can still loose it all to the government-- I DONT THINK SO SCOOTER-- I will die on this land before turn it over... Thanks for this video, this is one of the few times I've seen you so frightening serious...but it got me thinking about the future. Thanks again you make it so real .. Paul and Christine

TIP; Late winter, collect and pile up your extra snow a foot or two deep around the drip ring of the tree to keep the ground and root temps from warming up as fast as everything else. this will delay blossoming an easy couple weeks, this is a cheap trick we use up here in Northern Iowa to get our peach to lag blossoming past our last frost.

Family lost a large farm in BC interior .
I asked him how when I was young thank God I remembered and listened .
Heading up to the depression he owned the land and had loss all his money during the stock market crash .
Then he lost his job as and engineer for the railway (surprize the shit out of him ) then they raised the taxes on property .
he tried selling product all sorts of assets . Even told me he would take pigs down town to sell on the streets .
He said once he had a sign for $3 and a guy walked up to him and said nice pig but I couldn't afford even a buck for it .
People have no idea on how bad it can get . Family ended up getting kicked out and living in a run down shanty town .
Burnt good and never to trust Gov again .
Not sure people could learn to live that way now .
Its just a cycle and we are all slaves pretending we are free .

My mother was a little girl between the Depression and WW2. Her friend was from a more affluent family. So her friend would take her to the movies. My mother’s life has been very difficult but she would always have her Westerns to return home to. Maybe they made her feel invincible. Ironically enough, she married my father who was an older man and while she was watching all those movies he was in the Pacific on a Navy Ship living them out in real time. And she and my aunt loved popcorn. Always.

You must realize the number one enemy to homesteads is real estate taxes. Right now that may not be a problem but it is very likely as Government desperation occurs and local communities dont get their subsidies it is easy to force people off their homesteads with real estate tax spikes. We never as a society put limitations on local real estate taxes we got to deal with this now not when they are taking homesteads.

No matter what revenue stream you choose, knowing how to get leads, convert them into customers, increase the value of your transactions, and contact them to make more offers and make multiple sales from an average of your customers is also a skill you need to know.
Fortunately, it is formulaic if you apply direct response principles, and it's one skill that applies to virtually any revenue stream you can think of.
This is especially helpful for those multiple revenue streams you're talking about Zack. If the revenue streams are complimentary, even better.

Hello, I am new to your channel, I like what I have heard, you sound like me. Raised old world, I never realized I was raised by my parents and both sets of grand parents who were all SELF SUFFICIENT PREPPERS !!!I agree with everything you have said. I was raised and live in commey Michigan. My husband and I purchased our home in Grand Haven Mi. in 1987, taxes were just $1,000.00 now the taxes are $2,250.00. Our bills in the last 2 yr's have increased by $600.00 plus per month. We live frugally, always have, I have been the family gardener since I was 13y/o and was taught by parents and grandmothers to cook and bake everything and can the produce, meat, eggs and anything I can't catch or get my hands on. My garden is organic and very productive, but alot more work now that I just turned 70y/o. Your homestead sounds perfect, can you tell m, Denise M.e where abouts you live, and the costs for land and that states and local govt's direction they are going in, I do not want to end up in an area like the one I am in, how much per acre is the going cost around you? In Illinois there is a law called the homestead exemption act of 1851. The benefits vary by county. I applied for it and was approved. In my county it freezes the assessed value of your homestead at that point. Taxes may go up but not the assessed value. Having passed the age of 65 I also recieve a 30% reduction in my tax. My land and home are paid for and I have my duly notarized deed !!!

In April 5th 1933 the official value of gold was $20.67 per troy oz. (Already increased significantly) Today gold is "valued" at $2,302.15 per troy oz. that's an 11,137.64% decrease in the buying power of your dollar over the last 91 years. Zach is correct. GOLD has NOT increased in value. Standards do not change, that's why we call them standards...
Let this sink in - It would require a $247,000 household income TODAY to live the same lifestyle your parents provided in 1990 making $80,000.

You need to spray sulfur on the tree it's water and liquid sulfur to kill a fungus. You do it in fall after the tree drops the leaves and spring before the buds come out. Spraying the leaves will kill the leaves. Peach trees require to be sprayed. To get rid of wood burning bugs mineral oil in fall they don't like it and come out of the tree. 5 years into my tree starting to produce they take work and time. Fruit trees aren't fast to start pelroducing its work

1st, most fruit trees take at least 5 years to start producing fruit. Secondly I don't know what type of peach tree you have but a lot of trees need 2 to 3 of the same kind of tree so they can cross pollinate and produce fruit. There are some trees that can self pollinate but like I said I don't know what kind of peach tree you have. 2nd, one thing about having a 100-year-old home on your property is that the value of it can be ambiguous. Meaning if the house is in bad enough shape it could devalue the property. So that's something you can argue with about your property taxes. I don't remember what was happening, but we had to for some reason, my ex and I had to get our complete net worth together, I think it was for a loan modification on a house. He had an older car 1972 Buick Skylark I think. And we could say that its value was $500 and nobody would have argued that because the car was so old but it had in fact been redone so its value was actually much higher. So what I'm saying is that there are ways to manipulate the system as the system manipulates you. Thirdly, I need to start a business somehow on this farm and I am absolutely terrified to do it. I got a lot of ideas that possibly could be profitable but it is terrifying.

Because you all have WARRANTY DEEDS, meaning the county owns your land and you pay rent, called property taxes!
Get an ALLODIAL DEED (a land patent) and property taxes go to zero because you will actually OWN your land.
America is great when you know the law. Unfortunately, law schools dont teach that so you’ll never find a lawyer who can do it..

There's a bug that likes to bore into stone fruits, it has hit several of mine the last couple of years. If the entire tree isn't killed, parts of it will die off. I have peaches and plums with dead branches for seemingly no reason. Other trees I can clearly see where the pest bored into them because the sap forms a brown jelly around the wound. I'd look for that sign and then see if there's anything you can do to help the tree. I've had entire trees die because of this boring pest and then come back from the roots. They take a long time to produce fruit after that.
