FUN SUM 41 FACT: When they were shooting this, they told them before every take they needed a beer or two to get ready. The shoot took all day and for most of the footage you see in the video, they are hammered senseless!
Happy to see you enjoy this Canadian band! They are for me one of the band of my early adulthood, which I really appreciate. If you want to go "old school" with them, with their first hits, you have to look at the album "All Killer No Filler" (released in 2001) with the songs "Fat Lip", "In Too Deep" or "Motivation". Have a good one and keep rocking! :)
I was born in 1985 and from the Midwest USA and I know Top of the Pops but because I grew up listening to all kinds of music and knew the history watching vhs tapes of the performances from classic bands
Will Sasso reprised that role when they announced a new album 3 years ago. Not necessarily a recommendation for reaction, but the video was called "Sum 41 - Order In Decline | Rock is Dead" if you were interested.
"Mitchell is the man" "Yeah, and the MAN calls all the shots!" "Well damn the man!" "Listen to me. Mitchell is the man, I'm the idiot, you're the screwup and we are all losers." Such. A. GREAT. MOVIE!
This came out in 2002 so they're in their late 30s and early 40s now. They started as a pop punk band in the early 2000s before shifting towards a more alternative metal sound. Their only pop punk albums are "Half Hour Of Power" (2000) "All Killer, No Filler" (2001) and "Underclass Hero" (2007)
Hey old school nerd. Since you like history about bands and other. Did you know back when this video was made, most of the Sum 41 fans actually thought that they were changing their band's name? Well after that the band literary told everyone it was only for the sake of the video and they were not actually changing their name.
I have seen them live a couple times and they are a lot of fun. Fat Lip is great and you should also do In Too Deep because of the hilarious video and killer guitar solo.
Since they were mentioned in the intro: *THE HIVES* The best way to describe them is probably "Garage Rock Revival Revival" dripping with sarcasm. They shove your face into all your bad habits and delusions with a cheeky wink and you love them for it. I especially recommend "Hate to Say I Told You So", "Walk Idiot Walk", "Well All Right", "Bigger Hole to Fill", "I Want More", "My Time is Coming" and their newest "Good Samaritan". Probably in that order. But honestly, there's too many great songs they have and I had to really hold back to not list almost everything I've heard from them... The Hives have been around for a while - "Hate to Say I Told You So" is from 2000 - but unlike tons of bands with that kind of history, they've kept their quality, if not gotten better with every release... "You careful types with sorted lives Won't know what I mean When I speed through life Like biblical locusts on a laser beam" - I Want More, The Hives
Check out Pleasure for Pain by Sum 41. Originally it was part of the song Fat Lip but for some reason they cut the in two. It's short but you'll love it.
Nice reaction! A very interesting view from a person missing out on new music. Best recommendation is The Hell Song by Sum 41. The music video is soooo hilarious!
Throwback suggestion- 2012 Steam Powered Giraffe “Honeybee” and “Automatonic Electronic Harmonics” Kind of a quirky band but the music is really good. Great harmony!
I saw them in concert. Thought they sounded better live. Lots of energy. Also Yellowcard was good one from around the same time period. Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard was good.
Hey I'm way late to the game, but if you like these guys, you might want to check to Billy Talent. Similar sound, also Canadian, maybe a little heavier than these guys.
I think the backstory to why they were all crazy was cause throughout the shoot they kept drinking and they got more reckless and then yeah the ending happened 😂
Love watching you. Sum 41 is a fantastic band. For sure watch "Fat Lip". Was filmed over 2 days and was them inviting a bunch of people out to a party and was totally unscripted.
Used to listen to them a lot back in the day. Great band. Would suggest you to check out "All the Small Things" by Blink 182 except all the pop acts they are making fun of in the video would fall in your blind spot. F it, check it out anyway.
Just a bit of information for you, Top of the Pops got finished, can't remember the year, because main presenter, Jimmy Saville, got implicated and an abuse ring stemming from the 70s and 80s. He was sentenced to jail and, soon after, passed away
Hi, I saw that you haven't reacted to heaven shall burn. They are a great metal band from Germany. Maybe you could react to their song hunters will be hunted or endzeit for your throwback reactions.
What's with today today? I literally think that in my head when I have a crazy day at work "What's with today today?" I just did last week! Damn the man, save the Empire!
I really hate this style of rock. I refer to it as the american pie time of rock. This particular song is one of the few I put in my playlists. This is one of the only songs I really like from this time. Went to warped tour just to hear them sing this song lol.
Top of the Pops really didn't age well with the whole Jimmy Saville thing.... We still have the charts in UK but not ToTP. Mind you I've not owned a TV since 2014 so I could be wrong.
You are inching towards emo music. The worst thing about the emo genre is it got labeled 'emo'. It's a stupid name and this might sound weird but emo is more like punk music with pop influences. You know, the direction Green Day went when they decided to go main stream.
FUN SUM 41 FACT: When they were shooting this, they told them before every take they needed a beer or two to get ready. The shoot took all day and for most of the footage you see in the video, they are hammered senseless!
I’m glad that I grew up listening to every genre, I was open to everything
Sum 41 doesn't have a bad record....it's all amazing! One of my favorites bands.
Agreed
Preach!!!
Throwback suggestion for Sum 41: I’m Not The One. Super underrated thrashy track from them
I have been obsessed with sum 41 for like 20 years ❤️
They did a song with Kerry King from Slayer on guitar for the Spider-Man soundtrack
OMG!!! someone brought up EMPIRE RECORDS!! still to this day top 5 movie all time for me love it!!
Throwback- 2009- Korpiklaani “vodka”.
You GOTTA do "pain for pleasure" by Sum 41, you'll absolutely love it
The best song on All Killer No Filler if you ask me.
Empire Records is one of my favorite movies, I would watch it over and over when it came out on vhs in the mid 90’s
That timing jump is the best part ever ✌️🤟🤟
Omg I love ur reaction so much!! Your knowledgeable about pop culture and music please do more! I just found your channel! It’s Rex manning day!!!!

Without listening to any of their other songs, I can tell that this one is a instant classic, kind of like Linkin Park's, Numb.
top of the pops was a countdown of the uk music charts with guest bands but no interviews
SUM 41 ROCKS BRO!
I was born in 1985 and from the Midwest USA and I know Top of the Pops but because I grew up listening to all kinds of music and knew the history watching vhs tapes of the performances from classic bands
Throw back suggestion Breaking Benjamin - I Will Not Bow
Will Sasso reprised that role when they announced a new album 3 years ago. Not necessarily a recommendation for reaction, but the video was called "Sum 41 - Order In Decline | Rock is Dead" if you were interested.

They sound like Green Day and The Ofspring had a baby.
Need to watch sum 41 the bells song official video...
I have seen them live a couple times and they are a lot of fun. Fat Lip is great and you should also do In Too Deep because of the hilarious video and killer guitar solo.
Lacrimosa have been around since 1990, but their song Keine Schatten Mehr from 2015 was a smashing end to their 2020 concert.
2008. Bullet for my Valentine - scream aim fire

Can you do "My Own Worst Enemy" by Lit
React to Were all to blame By Sum 41 Its one of their best songs
"what's with you today?"
"What's with *today* today?"
Also, the time to hesitate is through.
I thought his name was Warren?
Should definitely do "Not the American Average" by Asking Alexandria
They actually talked to the strokes before this to make sure they were ok with them parodying their music video
If you're a metal fan, you have to listen to "Pain for Pleasure". It's Sum 41's tribute to metal
This is an awesome song by them! Gotta check out "In Too Deep" and "We're All To Blame" by them too
I saw them in concert. Thought they sounded better live. Lots of energy. Also Yellowcard was good one from around the same time period. Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard was good.

Can you also do "Some Say" by Sum 41? Please
Enjoyed the reaction as always. Please react to korn - shoots and ladders think u will enjoy this song and video.👍👍
Love watching you. Sum 41 is a fantastic band. For sure watch "Fat Lip". Was filmed over 2 days and was them inviting a bunch of people out to a party and was totally unscripted.
No one needs any excuse to go and break some shit. It's just fun lol
Brand of Sacrifice and song Demon King
i think new noise by refused is one you may have missed in this time frame
Used to listen to them a lot back in the day. Great band.
Would suggest you to check out "All the Small Things" by Blink 182 except all the pop acts they are making fun of in the video would fall in your blind spot. F it, check it out anyway.

He was never sentenced he died in 2011 and all of the info came out afterwards and it is sad that he didn’t get punished properly.
Like your channel but I am sure you need more Punk maybe Horrorpunk.
🤘🖤☠️😜
Greetz from Germany, Corvus

Top of the Pops really didn't age well with the whole Jimmy Saville thing....
We still have the charts in UK but not ToTP. Mind you I've not owned a TV since 2014 so I could be wrong.
Say "top of the pops" again
You are inching towards emo music. The worst thing about the emo genre is it got labeled 'emo'. It's a stupid name and this might sound weird but emo is more like punk music with pop influences. You know, the direction Green Day went when they decided to go main stream.
how is this a throwbkac for u when it existed for 2/3 of ur life
Haven’t listened to new bands of the last 20 years? You haven’t missed much. Pantera both saved and killed metal
Maiden and priest were the gods that they praised
