I feel your pain I’m 15 and it’s so hard to speak with people with people with out them saying “ stop forcing your voice to get attention “ I’m like I’m not I speak like I’m 5 because I have a disorder I can’t help it
*How I cured my puberphonia:* Okay, so when I was in 7th grade I hit puberty and my voice started cracking. My natural voice was soft and high pitched, but when my voice would crack it would become "deep" and "croaky". When I entered 8th grade, and then 9th and 10th grade, I still had my soft voice from childhood. My voice from childhood was soft and high pitched, I sounded like a squeeky mickey mouse, everyone would laugh at me for it, to the point where I stopped talking at school. I would write on papers to communicate with people. Not only was my voice high pitched and soft, but I couldn't talk some days, my voice would almost disappear. It was impossible for me to be heard in loud situations. Well, my voice kept cracking hower, and every time it cracked my voice would sound VERY deep and VERY croaky, to my ears. Well, I had a special ability, I could make my voice crack on command, I could make it crack on purpose, it's hard to explain but I could just do it. I thought to myself, *"What if that is my real voice? When my voice cracks it's deep, what if that is my real voice trying to break through?"* Well, I made my voice crack on purpose. To my ears it sounded abnormally deep, but I decided to record myself. When I recorded myself, my voice sounded normal! It was deep but good, and I realized that -- that was my real voice! So I decided to make my voice crack, but I would keep my voice that way, I would talk and keep my voice at that pitch. This happened during summer break. By the time I got back to school, I was speaking in my real voice, and it sounded good. I was 16 then turned 17..... Now I'm 21 and my voice is deep, sometimes it sounds raspy (I have acid reflux which may have caused or worsened my puberphonia) but my voice sounds really good. I'm only 5'6 maybe 5'7 and everyone says my voice is deep for my height, but it sounds good, and my current girlfriend loves it. So if you have puberphonia, try to do what I did. You can do it, just try, and keep it steady, "lock" your voice so it stays the way it's supposed to sound like,
@@kaviboss2096 All puberphonia is different, re read my original comment. My voice was soft and high pitched but it would crack, and it when it cracked it would get very deep. I knew how to make it crack on command, so I did that, and I kept talking like that, which was my "real voice" Your puberphonia might be different
Hello I’m in a very similar situation. I can make my voice way deeper on command like a special ability. Though it still cracks sometimes to my higher voice when I do it. It also feels off when I do it like not normal. I’m 16 and get called Mickey Mouse and Carl wheezer alot when I was younger I didn’t care bc I had hope. But now I’m 16 and i lost hope. I think I'm suffering from this disorder I've been through voice therapy and psychotherapy but no improvement I'm still in to it and accepting that it will never change I'll be embarrassed forever. Surgery is not possible in the Philippines and my family don't have means to consult a doctor outside our country.
Same I also have a high pitch voice. But I must accepted it. Because I can't change it and I can't change who I am I guess. But yeah. I understand the embarrassment as well. I got it alot last year and before. That also lead me to depression, bully and got laugh alot. But I guess the only way is to ignore them. I am so sorry that you had that pain and embarrassing experience and hope that something will make you feel better. From NZ
@@Jackfruit881animations i can change my voice to deep but it keeps hurting my throat,i think my real voice is deep but i cant use it because its hurt a lot
One thing i noticed was when sometimes my voice for some reason turns very deep i'm way more confident and people listen to me often/respect me more i don't get why whenever my voice sounds like a 16-17 year old when i'm 23 people don't really treat me like an adult
@JackDawson-xl7bo Puberphonia, where a person retains a high-pitched voice beyond puberty, can affect how others perceive you. A deeper voice often carries more authority and confidence, which might explain why you notice a difference in how people treat you when your voice temporarily deepens. Despite being 23, if your voice still sounds like that of a teenager, it can influence others' perceptions. Voice therapy with a speech-language pathologist could help you develop a more mature and consistent vocal tone, potentially improving how you're perceived socially and professionally.
i think i might have this too i talked normal till i was 13 then my voice was very high pitched and very low people couldnt understand what i'm saying i'm 47 now and my voice is still the same
It sounds like you might be experiencing a voice disorder, which can sometimes persist from adolescence into adulthood; consulting with an ENT specialist or a speech-language pathologist could provide valuable insights and potential treatments.
I also have puberphonia but some months ago i get a new voice which is low pitch but with sound also very low and crack and Now I can't talk in my Feminine voice I want my normal voice ☹️
Doctor, I am Moroccan and I cannot understand you. Please help me. I am 16 years old and I have a problem of immaturity of the voice, what is the solution please
Speech therapy! Since the surgery could come with multiple risks effecting the voice negatively and theres no promise that it will work. Speech therapy is unharmful to the voice and is almost always the first recommendation and step for this patient-group. Therapy has been showed to have good results if the patients apply the learned techniques in their everyday-life and continues with the indirect treatment at home.
@GullTopper Feeling self-conscious about your voice can be challenging, especially if it’s affecting your confidence and performance. Here are a few suggestions to help manage those feelings: 1. **Practice Speaking**: Try practicing speaking in a safe environment, like with friends or family, to build confidence. 2. **Voice Training**: Consider working with a speech therapist or vocal coach who can help you feel more comfortable and improve your speaking skills. 3. **Focus on Strengths**: Concentrate on your strengths and achievements. Remember that your voice doesn’t define your abilities or worth. 4. **Seek Support**: Talking to a counselor or therapist about your feelings can provide you with strategies to overcome shyness and build self-esteem. Your voice is a unique part of who you are, and with time and practice, you can become more comfortable using it.
@echothepotato It's okay to have complex feelings about your identity and experiences. Understanding and exploring your feelings can be a journey, and it's important to approach it with openness and self-compassion. If you're feeling confused or need support, talking to a mental health professional or counselor can provide clarity and guidance. They can help you navigate your feelings and support you in understanding your identity better.

I have this condition since 2022 at 12 years old i sound very much girly and people make fun of me because of it now its 2024 and its still not cured does anyone have a tip on how to cure this condition?😢
@GullTopper If you’re experiencing a voice condition that causes you distress, consider consulting a speech therapist or vocal coach who specializes in voice disorders. They can provide exercises and techniques to help adjust your voice. Additionally, seeing an ENT specialist can help identify any underlying medical issues. Consistent practice with these techniques, combined with seeking support from groups or counseling, can help you manage the condition and improve your confidence.
