Thanks man! There will be more videos on it to come. It’s going to be my 4 cube saw for sawfest next year. Working on making a 8 pin sprocket for husky small spline. That saw is a animal. I doubt an 8 pin will slow it down at all with an 18” bar and smooth chain.
Mean running Makita 👍👍. Appreciate the feedback on the durability of square grind in hard wood. I've noticed most folks that run it are on the west coast. Don't see too many fellas run it here on the east coast so I assumed that round file holds an edge longer...
Since sawfest is over, can you tell the numbers now? It looks like quite the ripper, even a little rich for cutting firewood. Maybe I'll just raise the exhaust a few degrees, and just touch and clean up the intake and transfers. I'm not doing any machine work. Yours runs really good though.
Nice! I cut firewood in the high desert. So chain dulls quickly in the sand filled bark I have one of those cnc wheels but havent used it I was under the impression the cnc wheel would get gummed up You have that issue with the cnc wheel? Thanks I hope to send you some saw -
That 6100 runs very good. Do you have a video of the work you done on that? The reason I ask is that I have a 6100 that runs good but not like yours. 😊
Thanks, and unfortunately I don’t have a video of the work on that one, it’s a bit secretive, it’s going to be the saw I run in the 4 cube class next year at sawfest. It’s tuned to the rich side cutting firewood.
When I see a dolmar video, I feel like a kid that gets to take home a puppy. All warm and fuzzy, but in a 2 cycle way😊😊! Thanks for a great video!!!!

Thanks and yes I’ve tried square, it’s definitely fast but in hard dry wood it doesn’t hold up in my experience. I’ve tried every angle.

Dolmar the best 👍👍👍

Not at all. I just soak the chains in a bucket of gas to get any oil off. Then blow them off with compressed air.
