for everyone here saying chief is smarter: From his first battlefield encounters, Titus became interested in the thinking behind his enemy's attack. While his Space Marine training gave him the big-picture understanding of alien strategy, Titus wanted to understand more about how small groups of enemies fight on the ground. With every battle, he experienced firsthand how differently each alien species and daemon horde fought on the ground, and gradually, patterns of tactics emerged. To better understand the enemy and their motivations gives him insight into their strengths and weaknesses and into how to exploit those weaknesses in battle. Fortunately, Captain Trajan appreciated Titus's attempts to understand their foes. His ability to predict how a group of enemies would attack saved many lives over the years.

While Master Chief is very intelligent, Space Marines are monks by practice as well as soldiers, and have the year advantage over a Spartan. Even a young Space Marine is around 45-50 years old, with that much war time on his belt and decades to possibly centuries ahead of him to learn. John and the rest of the Spartan II's had the potential for genius level intellect before augmentation so I imagine by adulthood they'd be pretty damned smart.
I have my own (honestly deeply heretical) theory about the Spartans and Astartes. I like to think that, covertly backing Halsey's experiments with resources, money and hidden expertise, was the Emperor as he was in that period of history, his existence still hidden from the vast majority of humankind. Through Halsey and the UNSC he was working on the Spartans as an early precursor of the experiments that would one day yield the Thunder Warriors, The Astartes, the Custodians and even the Primarchs. Master Chief as early ancestor of the Space Marines; the seed that would grow into the forces upon which the Emperor would build a galaxy spanning empire.
For those to whom this idea appeals, you could go a step further. Here is a little suggested flavour text for those of such a mind: - "Deep beneath the surface of Holy Terra, within the furthest sublevels of the Imperial Palace, in a fortified annex to what was once the Emperor's own genelabs, there lies a hidden vault, a secret known only to the Emperor upon his Golden Throne and a handful of his most trusted Custodes. This vault is protected by layered Void Shields and other, even stranger, force fields, its sole entrance sealed by metres-thick solid adamantium blast doors that have not been opened in millennia. Should one be able to somehow pass beyond that most inviolate portal, you would find yourself within a great chamber, utterly silent but for the soft hum of the strange machineries that generate the exotic energies that permeate that place. At the centre of the space, hanging motionless in mid air within a web of suspensor beams and at the heart of a matrix of the most sophisticated stasis fields to have ever been built by humanity, may be found an ancient suit of powered armour of a design most unfamiliar to the eyes of almost anyone living in the age of the Imperium, insulated from the withering passage of tens of thousands of years by the now long lost scientific secrets of the Dark Age of Technology. Stencilled upon that armoured suit in the old, Pre-Imperial manner are the numbers '117'." I leave it to the imagination of the reader to determine whether or not that suit is still occupied, cast out from the flow of time itself as both suit and putative occupant would be, but with that said... HALO Gregorian chant theme music intensifies...

Space marines won out in their armor on the high end was better, they have more experience, their weapons were just better and they have a higher max speed with just general durability due to redundant organs and the like, in a firefight I'd expect a space marine to win, hand to hand or melee with no weapon advantage? a space marine would be bodied no questions asked just due to agility and knowing your opponents armors weak points at a glance.

@@SerangelROM we are comparing two fundamentally different sci-fi universes, Halo is more about Humanity’s struggle to survive in a semi-realistic environment, 40K is just about the despair and gloom, humanity lost 20,000 years before the current timeline, when the Federation/Golden Age ended. 40K is a much crazier universe, with Chaos Gods, extragalactic alien insects, ancient race that wants to commit genocide(for like the third time already sheesh) ancient race that genocided themselves sand now want to drag everybody else into their mess, and a whole lot more. 40k is the idea “what if every sci-fi galaxy-ending disaster scenario came into one universe and caused chaos?” That universe is soo crazy that the galaxy ending events are IRONICALLY protecting the galaxy from other galaxy ending events, its fire fighting fire.
Space Marines are a blur to most people and are capable of running 40 mph depending on the writer(lowest I’ve seen being 35mph and highest being 60mph) Master Chief is clocked at 60mph I say this to point out master chief isn’t even that much faster plus Titus has experience with faster opponents like daemons and tyranid warriors I wouldn’t be surprised if he kills a hive tyrant in SP2 sorry master chief you need more alterations, too human
Chief ripped his Achilles tendon doing that He can not run 60 mph consistently or for long periods if he does it once he’s out of the fight for a long while, he’s speed is usually 25-40 mph and that’s quite consistent throughout writers Several books have clocked no named space marines at 40 - 50 mph with some clocking in at 90 mph But named marines that are stated to be weaker the Titus has calculated speeds of surpassing speeds similar to his weaponry from them being able to actually move out of the war of it and let just say plasma weaponry is extremely fast (Warhammer is inconsistent so taking the 90 mph as an outlier is possible, and tbf if it is an accurate speed that seems a bit fast)
Master Chief is basically a Tempestus Scion with a refractor field for a 5+ ward. Honestly respectable, but we're comparing a 11pt model to a 50 pt model here guys
I feel like it could go either way,Chief has survived some pretty crazy stuff, and i feel like a Spartan laser could do some serious damage to a space marine, but I also know enough of the lore to know that Space Marines are pretty crazy in terms of resilience and strength
I saw a comment in Spanish here, I left my opinion there, but to make things short, I do believe the Chief has a very real shot in this fight, like I said in that other comment, Spartan armor is weaker, yes, but is very consistent all around, and in Lore can actually take a beating, space Marine armor has higher highs, but also has lower lows, chest and shoulder pads can certainly shrug off many of the Chief's ballistic weapons (maybe excluding rockets or the spartan laser, WHICH, I forgot to mention in the other comment). Also, although Titus is faster, the Chief is definitely more agile, and has a shorter reaction time, and when it comes to fights like these, every fraction of a second counts. Overall, I believe the Chief would win 6 out of 10 fights, this counting stuff like terrain, cover and weapons available But, this is just my humble opinion
@@LTDroz God no, his shield barely protects him from orks small arms fire, meanwhile a spartan laser is an ATI tank weapon, at best first shot drains shields and heavily damages his armor
@@praxxys9809its worth remembering though that Space Marine armour is high quality ceramite, a material so hard it not even comparable to the weapons Chief would use. Even though the arms of legs may be weaker parts of Space Marine armour, anything short of a Spartan laser is likely to not cause any real damage. Moreover, Titus has a shield aswell, an Iron Halo. These are able to fully stop some heavy blows even by 40k weapon standards, so I still doubt Chief is getting even a dent into Titus.
One of the best parts is that Titus would be truly impressed at Chief's kill count. Not because Titus hasn't done more. But to Titus, Chief is still basically a human.
Titus would probably veiw Cheif as a Guardsman wearing Dark age of tech armour

From his first battlefield encounters, Titus became interested in the thinking behind his enemy's attack. @@Watcher97 Good point. The reason I found Master Chief to have higher intelligence Is by the way he learns how to use alien technology so quickly. Though I have to agree with you on this.
@@OrkDaGrunt Yeah, against pretty much any other setting Chief would probably stomp faces, but 40k Space Marines are more or less unbeatable in the supersoldier scene. Weapon savant is more or less a skill every Marine aspirant has tovhave by prerequisite. He got done dirty by the limitations of his time period and that's why Chief takes the L here 🤣
@@Watcher97I'd still say Chief is smarter, Spartans were chosen because they were the peak of Humanity and are compatible with the augments.
John and the rest of the Spartan II's had the potential for genius level intellect before augmentation so I imagine by adulthood they'd be pretty damned smart.
I'd say durability is a draw due to the whole falling from space thing. Other than that yeah Titus wins

Space marines won out in their armor on the high end was better, they have more experience, their weapons were just better and they have a higher max speed with just general durability due to redundant organs and the like, in a firefight I'd expect a space marine to win, hand to hand or melee with no weapon advantage? a space marine would be bodied no questions asked just due to agility and knowing your opponents armors weak points at a glance.

feats and skill are a bit subjective due to the differing universes. Chief ripped his Achilles tendon doing that
He can not run 60 mph consistently or for long periods if he does it once he’s out of the fight for a long while, he’s speed is usually 25-40 mph and that’s quite consistent throughout writers
Several books have clocked no named space marines at 40 - 50 mph with some clocking in at 90 mph

I feel like it could go either way,Chief has survived some pretty crazy stuff, and i feel like a Spartan laser could do some serious damage to a space marine, but I also know enough of the lore to know that Space Marines are pretty crazy in terms of resilience and strength
Not to mention Titus’ shield, which I’m fairly certain could block 1-2 shots from a spartan laser
Overall, I believe the Chief would win 6 out of 10 fights, this counting stuff like terrain, cover and weapons available
But, this is just my humble opinion
